SUMMARY: Troy slapped together a Thanksgiving potluck-thing while his Nanna isn't around to shame him.

[ Although Troy's tried to make sure the place is clean and ready, it's probably still obvious that two twenty-something dudes live there. Their table might not be big enough to support Thanksgiving, but there's still counter-space. They'll make it work!

There's also a couple of boardgames to be had and as sizable a DVD collection as they can manage. It's hard to build up a solid selection in the City, sometimes, but there's still plenty to be entertained by. Later, there will be basketball outside.

Troy's trying his best to be a good host, despite having little experience with Thanksgiving. Abed may or may not be filming. Come join the fun, folks. ]

[ Troy's wearing a blazer, which is an indication that he means business, and his business is assuring a smooth party full of fun and thankfulness and whatever else Thanksgiving is supposed to be full of. So he personally greets as many people as possible with a wide smile and a string of hellos and questions. ]

Hey! Welcome! Need to set anything down? Can I take your coat? Get you a drink? How's it going?

[Because that's totally what he meant, right? For that whole coat part, April just pulls her jacket around her closer. Like hell anyone will be parting a hipster from her hoodie. That's just unheard of.]

Right. I'mma get you a coke.

[ Sans rum. God, April.

Just come on in to the kitchen and he'll get right on that. ]

Wow. Just because I'm Puerto Rican doesn't mean I want coke.

[Because narcotics are clearly what he meant. Is what she sarcastically decides as she follows after him, anyway.]

But tequila is okay, I guess.

I didn't know coke was a Puerto Rican thing. I thought it came from Georgia or something.

[ Because he still means soda, and... Is she asking for tequila, or giving another stereotype a pass? He doesn't know a lot about Puerto Rico. Oops. ]

I mean, there's Sprite, too. How about Sprite?

I don't know what that's future slang for. Is it made of small, magical children?

[Because she will ignore the fact they're talking about soda until the bitter end.]

[ Jesus H., he's just going to get in the fridge and hand her a Sprite and be done with it. Here, April. Take this stupid can of Sprite. ]

It's made of delicious. Just drink it. Geez.

[She just rolls her eyes as she opens it and takes a sip, leaning against the nearby counter in the processes.]

Happy Thanksgiving anyway. I guess.

[ Holding a tray of food, Renee gives an amused smile at his enthusiasm as she enters. In a suit jacket, she's dressed for the occasion as well. ]

Hey, Troy. Thanks for inviting me.

No problem. Glad you could make it. Here, lemme get that for you.

[ The tray of food, that it. It looks awesome. Thanksgiving is a great holiday. He takes the tray into the kitchen, where they've got their table set up, complete with tacky, Thanksgiving-themed tablecloth. ] There's soda in the fridge, if you want one.

[ Peej loves food. She doesn't need to eat, but it's a pleasure she can't deny herself and Troy, while an odd young man, was kind enough to invite her. So, she shows up a few minutes early in a light blue sweater with chicks printed on the fabric, jeans, and a matching blue headband.

She also brought enough mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce for about ten people, just in case. Chances are people will want seconds or thirds if they can manage it. ]

[ Wow. That's a lot of potatoes and cranberry sauce. Karen means business, and Troy's on board. ]

I think that's the biggest bowl of potatoes I've ever seen ever.

[ Karen could tell him she's seen bigger (JLA/JSA holiday functions means enough food to feed a small neighbourhood), but why argue the fact on a perfectly good day like today? So far, she hasn't had to make any pit stops to pull aside drunk drivers, or petty thievery, or even someone ogling her in the subway. ]

Hope it's enough. Can't have Thanksgiving without the essentials.

[ She peers around his shoulders a moment. ]

Where should I put it?

Oh. [ Just follow him into the kitchen, here. Right this way! ] We've got everything on the table in here.

[ And he moves a few dishes to make room for the potato vat. ] You want a soda or anything?

[ She does, keeping a firm grip on the dishes until she can lay them out neatly.

A thoughtful expression passes her features. ]

Got any apple cider? If not, a soda is fine.

[ At least she doesn't have a diet soda allergy anymore. ]

[ that was probably the most he's eaten in a long time. he's a skinny kid, but he feels like he ate at least twice his body weight. weirdly enough, being around friendly people seems to encourage eating as a social activity.

not that he knows much about socializing. not his forte. not at all. maybe that's why, after dinner, he finds a spot on the couch by himself to be anti-social. he can just watch everyone else have fun. ]

[ After dinner, and while she waits to play basketball, Renee stops by the couch to rest for a few minutes. She holds up a hand in greeting and points to the spot on the other end of the couch. ]

Hey. This seat taken?

[ he glances at the lady who approaches him, not recognizing her outright. if he knows her, it's in a vague way, probably from seeing something she said on the network. still, he can't place a name. ]

No. [ a bit reluctantly: ] You can sit, if you want.

Thanks. [ She takes a seat, and after a moment, offers a hand to shake. ]

I'm Renee.

[ he eyes her hand, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of taking it for some reason. at length, he reaches out though, grasping her hand firmly but briefly, not even fully shaking it before letting go. ]

Hi. Terry. [ he glances at her again. ] Friend of Troy's?

[ She nods. ]

Yeah. You too, I'm guessing.
