(no subject)

WHO: Angelica Einstellsehn ([livejournal.com profile] dogabuse), The Major ([livejournal.com profile] loves_war), & Giovanni ([livejournal.com profile] canicide).
WHERE: The warehouse that serves as Angelica's base of operations.
WHEN: After the Major's post, the same evening.
WARNINGS: Uh. Multiple creepers. :V
SUMMARY: Angelica introduces the Major to her research.
FORMAT: Quickpara or para or something, idek. :|;;

She's been keeping the children in cages meant for large beasts-- crude and unsophisticated, nothing like the grand facilities she kept in the Underground before her unfortunate transportation to this city. But, with what few resources Angelica Einstellsehn has, she makes due. Now, the five children that are left-- half, she thinks disdainfully, half of them have died off already-- are in an unnatural sleep, IVs by the little cots they lay on. Machines, some looking like they were constructed from pieces of other things, beep gently.

Angelica watches them. How peaceful they look. Deceptive. The process isn't perfect yet-- no, far from perfect. But she'll make something out of these little angels yet.

For now though, they must rest. The testing is strenuous on them, and their bodies are so prone to rejecting her procedures. Angelica allows herself a moment of reprieve from her labors, drawing off her long gloves and setting them on the counter. Soon, she thinks to herself. Soon she will have power in her grasp again.

By the door, her three dogs perk their heads-- two Rottweilers, and a man in a suit. Of the three, the man is the most alert. Someone is approaching.

The Major realizes that his white suit has been getting a lot of wear lately- it being the only clothing he had when he arrived in the City- but he felt it was still in good enough condition to be serviceable for this occasion. Besides, he'd be expanding his wardrobe soon enough, once he could afford it. He already had a few leads on where he could get a new SS uniform- antique, of course, but still.

The warehouse did not look like the sort of place where great research into the creation of greater and more terrible armies was conducted, which the Major supposed was a good thing- had it been a location which simply screamed out 'here be monsters of war', it would have spoken rather poorly of Frau Einstellsehn's intelligence. And the Major had the feeling that the Doctor was a most formidable and intelligent woman indeed.

He knocked quietly on the door, smiling. This was going to be just splendid, he could feel it!

Giovanni doesn't need to be told. As soon as he hears the knock from the door, he knows who has arrived and he moves to answer. He doesn't know what his master plans for this visitor in the long run-- no, she doesn't include him hat far in her plans. After all, he is merely a tool to her. Not her best or even her favorite work.

The monster in him stirs.

He opens the door, pausing to eye the Major a moment before a sharp smile puts an edge to his face. He steps away to let their guest in.

"We've been expecting you."

"Ahhhhh." The Major looked Giovanni up and down, noting the sharpness in the smile. He had the distinct impression that this man could and would kill him in fifty different ways without blinking an eye, and that his charming mistress would watch, approve, and take notes.

He liked them both instantly.

"It brings me absolute pleasure to meet you both," he said, looking around the room, smiling at the dogs. "I must compliment you, Doctor, on managing to establish this facility and carry on with your work under such bizarre and adverse conditions!"

If Giovanni is fazed by his master's suggestion, he doesn't show it. There isn't a flicker of fear or hesitation on his face. He merely stands so that he's away from the dogs at the door and the unconscious children. It wouldn't do to make a mess where Angelica would be angry about it later.

He does, however, remove his suit jacket and set it aside. No reason to ruin anything unnecessarily.

Oh, so it's going to be one of those sorts of demonstrations, is it? Splendid! "Very well, then." He smiles, takes the weapon, disengages the safety, takes a step closer to Giovanni (it would be so very embarrassing for him to miss a stationary target in such a situation, nein?), and shoots him in the forehead, throat, heart, gut, and left kneecap, noting Giovanni's blankness as he does so. Such a fine, obedient soldier!

LOL. swapping order again. 8[ /back on top!

There is nothing out of the ordinary about the way Giovanni's body reacts to being shot. There's the sick crunch of bone where ever a bullet cracks through one, and blood-- blood that runs as red as any humans. The first bullet seems to take good enough care of the man. He takes a half-step backwards, then collapses to his knees when the last bullet strikes his knee cap.

Blood spreads out on the floor.

That seems to be the end of it.

Then, like spirits rising out of his body, a pale white vapor begins to seep from the wounds, swirling up into the air. It's less than thirty seconds since the first blew through Giovanni's skull. But there's a twitch in his fingers. And then his hand presses flat against the ground. He pushes himself up to his hands and knees. More vapors rise from every injury.

Finally he stands.

Save for the blood and holes decorating his clothes, Giovanni looks as if he hadn't been shot once.

He bares his teeth in a grin.

"It's absolutely extraordinary!" The Major exulted as he offered Angelica her gun back. "You do appear to have outdone yourself, Doctor. It appears your assistant is a being of true durability." He looked at the children in their cots. "I assume the procedure of gifting a simple, ordinary human with such abilities must start very early, ja?"

"I have no doubt of that." The Major took another look at the cages, so very reminiscent of what Millennium had worked with in Warsaw. "Then, it seems the most important things you require are a supply of subjects and enough time and secrecy to carry your work through to its so impressive conclusion, hm?" Major's smile was partially the work of wires and motors, and so could compete with Angelica's in the 'unnatural' department. "I am certain that this, I am able to help you with. What exactly may I do to aid you and your research, Doctor?"
