Insturments of Destruction [OPEN KINDA]

WHO: THE DECEPTICONS! AGAIN! PEOPLE FIGHTING THE DECEPTICONS! AGAIN
WHERE: OUTSIDE STARK TOWER! OH GOD
WHEN: FRIDAY
WARNINGS: um decepticons.
SUMMARY: The Decepticons are attacking Stark Tower with the intent of taking the 'porter OHSHI- Puck finally gets around to turning them back into humans at the end, but not before some serious damage is done.
FORMAT: WHAT THE HECK EVER GUYS

Starscream shot towards Stark Tower, accompanied by Thundercracker. Waspinator was probably somewhere behind them. Maybe. Somewhere below, Blackarachnia and Crasher were making their own ways towards the tower.
Starscream had charged himself up on the energon they'd taken in their raid. It wasn't as much as he'd liked, but it had been enough, and he felt good. Better than he had felt in vorns. He also carried a payload of compressed energon in his bomb bays.

He'd warned the ground team (Crasher, Blackarachnia and Kiryu) beforehand, and so they were out of the area when Starscream dropped his bombs into the square before Stark Tower, with every intention of clearing the area of civilians. It wouldn't do to have them underfoot like that.

There was a satisfying roar as the bombs went off, vaporizing cars and breaking out windows in the downtown area. Once the smoke cleared, Starscream circled lazily, coming in low as he began to approach the tower.

"DECEPTICONS! ATTACK!" he shouted over their comm frequency.

[ooc: one thread per 'con; kiryu is allowed to threadbounce if he likes as support (though plz be asking the combatants first). Each 'con please indicate the number of people you're willing to let take you on.
Tony Stark, Idk if the mods ever got back to you but if you want to have the tower defenses start shooting us that is peachy keen just... plz don't kill us?
AT THE END OF THIS LOG SOMETIME, EVERYBODY'S BACK TO BEING HUMAN. HOW/WHEN IT HAPPENS IS UP TO YOU &hearts
Also tag yourselves plz.]

He'd been expecting this.

Optimus knew that at some point, Starscream was goiing to gun for the Porter, so he'd stayed close to Stark Tower. The instant he saw those F-22 Raptors on the horizon, he'd scaled Stark Tower and made his way to the top. It had been a long week of Decepticons berating him for not being THE Optimus Prime from their universe, and Sentinel being, well, Sentinel. He hadn't been able to power down properly, due to nerves, and he was low on fuel.

Optimus Prime was done screwing around, and it was time to show Starscream that, yes, even if he was a maintenance bot, he was still the leader of the Autobots on Earth, and he had still fought Megatron and lived to tell the tale.

It was time to show Starscream that he wasn't to be taken lightly.

Explosions went off in the plaza, and Optimus cursed the Decepticons silently. So much needless killing. Only one more reason that he had to bring Starscream down to earth.

And then the jet was screaming above him, and thinking quickly, Optimus fired off one grappling hook, right into one of Starscream's wing struts.

This had been a bad idea last time he'd done it, but he had a slightly better plan this time.

[identity profile] androllout.livejournal.com 2009-04-24 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Aah!" Optimus shouted as the sudden jump of speed dragged him off the roof and into the air.

Of course, this is what he had hoped for.

Climbing servo over servo up the grappling line, no small feat when you weigh tons and you've been suspended several hundred feet in the air.

Still, he plugs away at it, slowly getting closer to the Seeker.

[identity profile] androllout.livejournal.com 2009-04-24 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it was going to take more than that to dislodge Optimus, given that the grappling hook was attached to his arm. He rammed into the building, feeling glass shatter and steel reinforcement, concrete and sheet rock crumple with the force of his momentum.

It hurt, but it wasn't the first time Optimus Prime has had intimate contact with the facade of a building. Starscream's continued movement dragged him along the surface, carving a rather large rift in the office building's front, and yet, determined, the Autobot continued his climb up the cable.

Only a few more yards, and he'd be close enough

[identity profile] androllout.livejournal.com 2009-04-24 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
No time to dodge that one. Optimus took the blast right in the face, and his systems shut down right away - not into stasis lock, so he was still conscious, but Optimus had been effectively paralyzed.

Hopefully it'd wear off before Starscream dropped him.

AFTER THE COMMERCIAL BREAK

[identity profile] androllout.livejournal.com 2009-04-24 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
He plummeted. Air whistled through his vents as Optimus dropped to the earth below. He'd fallen before, and every time, a small corner of his processors whispered "I really wish I could fly."

He tended to get dropped a lot, after all.

Then, moments before he hit the ground, his systems came back online, and reacting quickly, Optimus pulled out his Axe and used the jet thruster on the back of it to keep himself from crashing to the ground. He still created a small crater, but the impact wasn't so hard it would end his life.

Like that first time.

He shook his head to clear his processors, and then re-located Starscream. Time for plan B. He still had to take out his thrusters, and Optimus had a good idea on how to do that.

Optimus jumped out of his crater, and began scaling a nearby building. IT was a pity that he was breaking so much stuff today, but it couldn't be helped. He wasn't the fastest of climbers, but given his size he made it up to the top in under a minute.

And once he was on the roof, Optimus extended his axe's handle and used it as a pole vault, launching himself at Starscream. The distance wouldn't be enough to get him all the way there, so he fired its jet again, and shot through the air towards the Decepticon.

[identity profile] androllout.livejournal.com 2009-04-24 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
using the axe like a jetpack burned way too much energy. Optimus knew his levels were dropping extremely quickly, so he shut the jet off as soon as Stark Tower came into sight. He then fired another grappling hook at the roof of a nearby building, using it to swing himself forward.

Airborne again, Optimus released the grappler and reeled it in quickly. He'd have to time this just right.

Fortunately, Starscream was distracted.

The grappler shot forward and caught onto the roof of Stark Tower, and reeling it in in addition to swinging himself forward.

If he timed it right, it'd be enough to lob him into Starscream's back.

Thundercracker flanking Starscream during an air raid is old hat, and thanks to a crystal clear, organized and instantaneous total recall memory that human brains utterly fail at approximating, the old moves are still there.

A missile launches at Stark Tower, aiming to test the defenses around the Porter.

[identity profile] punmanarmy.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yet again, a fight with the Decepticons. Metabee had only been able to do poor patchwork when it came to making repairs on himself, so he wasn't faring too well as far as armor went. His fighting spirit (for what it counted for), was still going strong.

So it was that he scrambled to find an opponent. All of them were flying and thus beyond his immediate reach.

The missile, however, were right in his range. Might as well act as the third line of defense instead of seeing if the Tower's defenses could take it: if the Decepticons didn't get to attack the Tower directly at all, so much the better. "Time to get this party started with a bang," he joked for his own benefit, acting fast. He fired his own missiles at the single larger one, the three colliding midair and exploding.

[identity profile] jetf1re.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
Jetfire was right behind Metabee. He was good on fuel for the time being but he knew flying and using his fire was just going to end as a repeat of last time.

"We need to be taking out his thrusters!" he yelled down at his comrade.

And then an idea hit him. He wouldn't last long using his two main powers so maybe is he did the flying and Metabee did the firing... "Metabee I am having an idea!"

[identity profile] crackofthunder.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Thundercracker may not let them formulate a plan. Watching his missile blow up and miss its target, he follows it up with his specialty - emitting a nasty sonic boom to shatter glass and brains in a mile radius.

[identity profile] punmanarmy.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
Metabee turned back to Jetfire, nodding. "Okay, so what is i -" He didn't get far enough to complete the question, though.

Metabee let out a yelp at the sonic boom, an instant headache spiking pain into him. Well, there's the bang I wanted. He backed off, towards Jetfire, shaking his head for a moment rapidly though it was useless to get rid of the ringing in his audio sensors.

[identity profile] jetf1re.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever pain Metabee was feeling was far worse for Jetfire. He let out a yell of pain, covering his ears as his legs gave out beneath him. Right now was one of those times he was really wishing he had had the same good fortune as everyone else and had been turned back.

[identity profile] crackofthunder.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
No one is a better flier than Thundercracker, and he's almost gleeful to be putting his skills to use with an immediate and fast loop-de-loop, which brings him bearing down on them again, this time launching incendiary bombs at them.

See how they like fire.

[identity profile] punmanarmy.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey! Watch where you're flying!" Metabee yelled up at Thundercracker as he roared in and above them.

The bombs shut his smart mouth for the moment, explosions and the resulting blazes bursting up around him. "Crap!" He may have been metal, but that didn't make him entirely flame retardant. "Jetfire - idea, now, what was it!" he rushed to ask, trying to ward off the flames.

[identity profile] jetf1re.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
Fire? Fire was Jetfire's element, heck it was even in his name! Of course he was still in pain from sonic boom and slow to react. He also had no idea if he could even control fire that wasn't created by him but if he didn't try they would both be fried. He hadn't recovered enough to fly.

He focused on the flames willing them to not touch either him or Metabee, surprisingly it worked. He grinned, slowly rising to his feet, willing the flames to die down enough to not do much damage. "I am thinking that I do the flying you do the shooting. You are not being very heavy I am thinking you can ride on my shoulders." he said quickly.

[identity profile] crackofthunder.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that didn't go as he'd hoped.

Thundercracker banks left and swoops around the block, weaving through skyscrapers to bring himself back into position for a strafing run. Something in his circuitry is expecting a counterattack, so he approaches with his laser cannons blazing.

[identity profile] punmanarmy.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Whoa," Metabee paused for a second, watching the flames recede at Jetfire's command. That was useful.

"You got it! Tag team time!" he said with a grin in his voice. "C'mon, upsy-daisy." Metabee raised his arms, half hopping and half scrambling onto Jetfire. It was just in time for the barrage of lasers, too.

"LEFT! DODGE THEM LEFT!" he howled, yanking on Jetfire a little. "I'm backseat driving now!"

Two people at the most...if anyone wants to bother the poor woman now

[identity profile] blk-arachnia.livejournal.com 2009-04-24 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Blackarachnia scrambled along the rooftops and the sides of building in order to avoid any traffic below as she made her way to the tower. Not that humans were sticking around at the sight of the giant spider. She moved as quickly as her spider limbs would carry her. That core was hers! It was the last piece she needed in order to return herself to her rightful shell. No one was going to stop her this time. If anyone dared to even try they were dead, she wouldn't hesitate to end their pathetic existence.

The tower was in view, no resistance in sight. She scrambled faster, she would get inside, she would get that blasted core and get out of there before anything could happen.

Using her webbing she swung out and crashed through the glass of a window, which turned out to be thicker than she thought it would be. The opening was rather small but not so small that she couldn't squeeze herself through. Once inside she made her way quickly to the transporter room, still in spider mode.

Once in the room with the transporter she shifted into robot mode since the room was more than big enough to accommodate her size. The core was so close, all she had to do was shut the machine down and carefully remove the part. She stood before the computer console ignoring everything it had to say to her. Reaching out something familiar began to overcome her.

The femme remembered this feeling, it was the same as when she had been returned to her rightful form. "No...nonono." It couldn't be happening, she couldn't be shrinking. But she was, slowly, painfully, she was finding herself growing smaller. Purple techno-organic skin began to turn brown, armor began to change into flesh and cloth. She let out a long hiss of both anger and pain as the transformation continued. The worst part was her eyes, the two extra turning to bone and skin, her vision going fuzzy in the process.

Blackarachnia covered her face, falling to her knees then to her side, curled in a ball as she continued to hiss. When the transformation was finally over she laid there on the floor, shaking slightly from the shock of finding herself human again. Her head felt like it was going to explode from the pressure within it, her body felt too small. Now, even if she was in the right mind to, she couldn't take the core. How would she carry it? So close to victory, so close to being herself again, so close to going home only to be snatched away. Failure once again and this time she couldn't blame Starscream for it, she couldn't really blame anyone. At that she let out an angry screech before pushing herself up. It was time to go home, only not the home she wanted to go to.

wow i tl;dred this. MAXIMUM 2 PLEASE - ... SOMEBODY KIND PLEASE TAKE HIM TO A HEALER NOW

[identity profile] chewtoyoffate.livejournal.com 2009-04-25 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Waspinator was, currently, in very poor shape. Blackarachnia had only had time to throw him back together - almost literally - before the Decepticons had been told to Transform and Rise Up. Grumbling to himself, Waspinator had kept to 'Terrorize', if only for the sake of habit.

Slowing as he saw Starscream get into a fight with Optimus... Now there was a kerfuffle he didn't want to get involved in. Pulling up to a halt, he stared around, and saw that all the other flyers were currently engaged, as it were. Maybe if he could slip unnoticed past the Autobots, he could get to the Porter, for whatever use the higher-ups wanted-

This train of thought was interrupted as Waspinator began to glow. Shocked, he looked at his servos, trying to figure out why exactly this would happen. He didn't have much time to dwell on it, however, as he shuddered and felt a familiar change. Only, this wasn't like changing from robot mode to beast mode. This was...

Oh, Primus. This was what he had felt a week ago, when he had finally gotten this form back.

He screeched in pain as metal changed to flesh, wires to nerves, making him double over in pain. It hadn't felt like this, last time, it had just been like a run of the mill transformation that went a bit farther. This time, it hurt. He blinked hazily as his vision swam and he went into mild shock, forgetting where he was, what was going on, forgetting where he was...

And thirty feet in the air was hardly the best place to stop flapping your wings.

His mind was blank as he hurtled towards the cement, except for the vague, only slightly bitter voice telling him that this seemed to be happening a lot lately.

Waspinator thought that he heard a crunch as he hit the pavement, but that could have been pretty much anything in the chaos of the fights around him. He was lucky, really. If he'd kept flying, he'd have landed in the middle of the battles, instead of by the edges. He exhaled shakily and curled up into a ball, praying that whatever do-gooders had seen that would just leave him alone for the time being.
