Here's an odd pair... [INCOMPLETE | CLOSED]
WHO: Kiryu & Xena :D
WHERE: that park where Kiryu attacked Yuusei
WHEN: afternoonish May 19th
WARNINGS: er, violence (they're sparring, okay), language
SUMMERY: Clearly, the only language these two have in common is swordplay. So of course, they're going to spar with each other for fun. And maybe get ice cream afterword, 'cause hey, Kiryu's been in the City for 3 months and Xena's never had it.
FORMAT: Para
Kiryu had to admit, he liked this park. He'd spent a lot of time here while Saitou had been gone, usually at night since he'd rather not be out during the day. It was a good place to think; even during the day, there were never many people around. He'd even risked summoning a couple monsters here to test his limits.
And it was nice and open. A perfect place to practice kenjutsu (which he'd also been doing a lot of; Saitou would be shocked). Which meant it would be a good place to spar with someone else. And he was definitely happy about that. He'd been hoping for a while that he could find someone other than Saitou to spar with, since, like Xena had said, it was hard to get better after a certain point if you were only fighting one person. It was the same way in Duel Monsters.
So now he was sitting in one of the swings to wait for her. There was always the problem of not knowing each others' languages but...well, he'd rigged his comm to translate anything in English to Japanese through a pair of earbuds. And he'd been learning a little English, now that he actually needed to know it. Hopefully it wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Ah, there was the park. Very nice, and pretty secluded for a warm afternoon. Perfect. She walked down one of the paths and found herself near the swingset and its occupant.
"...Kyosuke?"

"That is me," he said, trying not to make a face at his jerky English either.
He stood up and rested a hand on the hilt of his katana. That was becoming a habit of his more and more lately.
"Xena, yes?"
She looked like the woman he'd been talking too, but it couldn't hurt to make sure.

"Nice to see you in person. Shall we?"
The brisk walk had warmed her up, for the most part. She swung her arms a bit, then reached up to grab the hilt of her sword.
She'd let him take the lead on this.

He drew his katana when stopped, settling into a back-stance Saitou had finally drilled into him. He wasn't going to attack just yet, though; sparring Saitou had made him a little more cautious than that.
He had finally learned to keep his emotions in check while his sword was in his hand, though. Finally. Having Del affect him like she had hadn't helped much.

It was obvious that their styles were very different. She gave him a brief smile. This would be fun.
She lunged towards him, swiping her sword across and down.

He turns and steps back again, whipping his blade around toward her side. He ends up faces his back to her sword for a moment, but hopefully he'd be through the turn before she could hit him with it.

A half second later, her sword whips forward in a neat slice at him.
