we live or endure
WHO: Remus, Soldier Blue
WHERE: Ye olde Moonybase
WHEN: 6/24, late afternoon
WARNINGS: Old people talking about things
FORMAT: No
Blue had struggled with the growing frustration of his own limitations for a long time, but at that moment, it felt more palpable than ever. How much had happened and how many people he knew were enduring troubles? All he could do is hear about it from afar. Kiden, Remus...And even though others had taken steps to help...
He pressed his hand on the window he stood before in the living area and his attention was drawn away from the summer scenery to the tired, red-eyed face reflected therein. He didn't look three centuries old, but he felt it. As accommodating as Jomy and his new friends in that house were, when he was alone like this he couldn't help but feel that gnawing sense of dread.
What can I do for them? Will I only be the burden?

Muggle technology.
As soon as he'd been able to get himself out of the bed, the burn scars still visible and raw as he'd dressed to cover them. He felt almost normal if not for the mild shaking and pain that lanced through him as he Apparated back to the house. He needed to be away from Miles' apartment for a few hours at least and it was here he felt safest.
The crack of magic came from his lack of concentration and Remus had a moment to be grateful that he hadn't managed to splinch himself. It would have only added insult to injury.
Leaning against the door frame, he saw Blue in the sitting room, and instantly felt himself relax. Blue wouldn't make some attempt to help him stand or cross the room. Remus was used to being self reliant and for at least a little while, he didn't intend to ask or accept help unless absolutely necessary.
"I see not much has changed while I was out," he said, as if he had only been gone a few days instead of a week.

He turned, keeping his hand on the glass for his balance, regarding his friend. He had endured a lot so recently, but Blue had yet to see or hear about how badly or specific his wounds were. For what it was worth, Remus was doing well to appear as ever, though there was a fleeting, frayed sense. From where he stood, Blue could not see the detail of his eye.
He offered a smile. "I am glad you are back," he said warmly. "We were all concerned for you."

This house was the most magically protected in the city. Only those given the address would be able to access it.
"But thank you," he returned the smile and the warm words as he sat down.

He pushed away from the window and drifted nearby, settling his hands on the back of a chair. Since his encounter with Bakura that morning, he was determined to move about as much as he could. Not just to test the extent of the boy's healing abilities, but because Blue was reluctant to let it go to waste.
"I prepared tea earlier," he said. "It...was not as well done as yours, but it was not horrible, either. It is still warm. If you would like some, I can get it."

"Mine comes from making it far too much," he answered, looking amused. "I'd like a cup since you're offering though."

Regardless, he gave Remus the cup upon returning to the room and returned to his place, standing behind the chair again. There, he stayed and observed him, tilting his head just a little at the tint of his freshly blinded eye. He would ask of it, but Remus seemed to have enough fussing for a while.
"I hope that surprise incident was the only thing giving you problems, Remus," Blue remarked. "Things have picked up, though, and you show up less often than you used to."

"It's good. There's no need to say otherwise," he said as he lowered the cup, looking a bit guilty at having his absence so quickly pointed out. "There's been very little time between work and assisting Miles with Ruka. My recent injuries hadn't helped much either. I hope every thing has been all right here?"

"As quiet as they can be," Blue replied. "It is a welcome change. The energy here still comes from Felicia, moreso now that she has that event of hers in the works."

"Has Sirius come back or has he found somewhere else to stay?"
