Smoke break time :U
WHO: [Bad username or site: hitokiri_ookami title= @ livejournal.com] and OPEN
WHERE: Outside the MAC, may move from there
WHEN: Today, mid-afternoon
WARNINGS: Cancer sticks? And probably some language.
SUMMARY: Saitou's irate with all of this blasted new technology and misses the familiarity of 1879 Japan.
FORMAT: Paragraph.
He didn't like it. He did not like it at all.
No one he was familiar with was here. He wasn't even sure where "here" was. And rarely ever did he come upon someone who understood a word he said - which made living accommodations in the MAC less than bearable. How was he supposed to know that his neighbors didn't appreciate the smell of nicotine?
Another woe of his. Everything... about this place was simply wrong. He didn't know what the hell any of these devices were. He had barely figured out his communicator in time to respond to replies sent to him. He thanked the gods that at least one of them had spoken fluent Japanese; it made things much simpler, and perhaps he could ask that man exactly what how all of this technology worked. Saitou would mess with them himself, but the wolf was wary that at any moment they would explode. And to say the least that would be troublesome.
So, with the fuss of his floor's neighbors indicating they'd rather he smoke outside (he assumed that's what the shooing hands meant), he'd stepped out to try and relax and get away from the morons. Then again there could be just as many morons outside the MAC - this was Hell. It must be.
It could drive a man to drink, and perhaps more. But Saitou steeled himself; no need for useless slaughter... being unable to tolerate alcohol without committing murder was ... irksome to say the least. He enjoyed sake as much as the next guy. It was just that every time he took a sip he cost someone a life. And that meant blowing his cover / a lot of paperwork.
And he was certain that Battousai and his miserable friends were laughing in the Afterlife at his grief. Terribly certain; and would be quite ready to Gatotsu them into a wall should they ever show up.
... His wife was most likely there as well. ... Saitou however did not like to feel disheartened during a smoke, and shook that thought away. He assumed she died of old age; hoped it so. He didn't like to admit it but he rather worried over her while he was away on government work. Again, thought shaken away. Any more of this and he'd be grieving; and the wolf would rather do anything but.
.. Soba sounded nice though. Saitou glanced around as he leant against one of the MAC walls, scouring the area. It would be a treat to actually find a place that served some. He hoped to any god that they did, or someone would be in for a really bad day.

Is doing a new thread okay?
But other than that...there was nothing to do here. And he was alive again, damn that man and his machine, so he couldn't just call out Ccapac Apu to play with him. And he didn't really know anyone well, except the Signer girl and she'd probably found out what he was by now.
Kiryu stepped out of the building, scowling at the mark still on his arm. Fresh air had always helped his mood back home (not that the air was really fresh, but it was better than the pit Rudger had them stuck in). And maybe once he was outside, he'd be motivated to actually go explore this place.
sure sure :D
Well and then there was the business about this man's marking. The Mibu wolf raised an eyebrow at it; it was intriguing, and did not appear to be a birthmark of sorts. He didn't quite have a description for it, yet. Though the young man would probably notice him staring, so Saitou resumed his smoke, just staring at the open streets. Idly his mind wandered to the streets of his own Tokyo, and imagined all of those people shuffling by instead of these ... morons with "abilities".
He wasn't sure what that Tin Can was thinking by bringing a man so far from the past to this time. Saitou wanted his old Tokyo back. It was still adapting to trains running on steam, going at 25 mph... apparently not something to boast about in this century. If only there was a walkthrough, the wolf sighed, muttering under his breath.
^_^
He was a sight for sore eyes, actually; Kiryu had yet to see another person who even looked Japanese, although he hadn't really explored much. Still, there was no saying he spoke Japanese, even if he looked it.
But Kiryu's hearing had always been good even before he'd died, so he caught that muttered phrase. And he grinned a little. Japanese. Thank every God he used to serve.
"Walkthrough for what?" he asked, loud enough to catch the other's attention.
I found subbed YGO 5ds on YouTube :o Am watching it
Back to the man's inquiry... Saitou mulled. There was a long list of things he'd like walkthrough for. This place, these infernal communicators, whatever other new, different things were here that were not to his liking. Saitou was not one for change. He lived the Shinsengumi's way and would continue live that way for the rest of his life, in respect of the fallen Miburo. All of this change was more than unsettling for the Meiji-age hitokiri.
"This City, this time, take your pick," replied the wolf wryly in Japanese, looking over to this man and smirking sardonically. It would at least be nice to find someone who was suffering as much as he was. Saitou took another drag of his cigarette and sighed; damn this place.
Yay! Did you starts at the beginning?
Not to mention he sounded familiar, both his voice and his words. but Kiryu was pretty sure he'd never seen this man before.
"Tell me about it," he said. "Everything here is so old; although I'm guessing it isn't necessarily to you," he added, noticing the man's clothes.
Yup ^^; I got it confused with GX, I actually haven't heard of 5Ds until I joined this comm XD
... Now that he mentioned it, Saitou probably did look a bit out of place. The style of these people seemed much more modern than his own. He was walking around in his old police uniform; not exactly something you see every day 100+.. however many it was years later. The wolf sighed, exasperated. He didn't like change, damn it all.
"Old to you, perhaps, but far too advanced for my liking. I've yet to see another samurai," Saitou ended with a growl. Not even anyone to spar with. He'd seen a message regarding a martial artist, but Saitou preferred the katana. There was just something majestic about its lethal blow of "Heaven's Punishment", Tenchu 天誅 That moronic rooster-head Sagara had been a man of fists. Saitou, a Shinsengumi, was a man of swords. Well, that's a nice thought, the Mibu wolf realized, grinning just a little to himself. That moron is dead right now. Excellent.
XD GX was atrip. I've only seen season 3. 5D's is much more like DM and Shadow Games.
But, that also meant...
"The samurai died out a century ago," Kiryu said, letting his disappointment show in his voice. That was too bad, really; Satellite would have never been created if that code of honor had still been around. "So if you're a samurai, this place must be a shock. Japan was nothing like this back then."
o_o There's more than one season...? /totaly out of the loop
That was... disheartening, to say the very least. The samurai code of honor had probably diminished as well. That most likely meant Japan was smothered in a world of corruption and evil.
And that was not sitting well with Saitou at all.
"Hitokiri, to be exact," the wolf let slip. He was still debating on whether telling this man he had been a Shinsengumi captain. Saitou vaguely thought he would faint from the shock. Speaking of shock-- "Yes, in simplest terms, it is. It is interesting, however, that the technology has advanced so forward in such a short span of time."
I have a feeling it's because foreigners overran the country, Saitou thought with a frown. They probably brought their Western technology with them. ... Still didn't make them good people. Those filthy infiltrators had even poisoned the Emperor's state of mind. The Emperor Meiji had promoted the switch of traditional Japanese wear for Western clothing; Western mannerisms, Western everything. If it weren't for the Western world, the Tokugawa regime would not have ended so abruptly. Then again, he would never have met the Hitokiri Battousai, and had their duel. That would have been a loss, the wolf had to admit.
GX has 4 seasons. Season 4 hasn't been dubbed yet though. And subbed eps are impossible to find.
Nevermind, then. The two of them were working toward similar goals. And if that was the case, then he had a feeling he knew who this guy was. Which was good, because he'd been really wanting to meet him. He didn't like the idea of someone from so far in the past walking around without a clue of what was around him.
Kiryu grins and bows to him. "You're Ookami, right? My name's Kyosuke. We've talked before."
ahh okays
"I believe we have spoken before. You are from a future even farther than this one, correct?" At least, this was a "future" time for Saitou. Absentmindedly he wondered what kind of tales this man could tell. He had mentioned "flying cars" prior to this conversation ... whatever those were. Sounded like an advanced mode of transportation... Saitou was still used to horse-drawn carriages. Cars were something he just couldn't wrap his head around. It would be nice if they cut the time of trips in half, though. Perhaps cut off even days, or weeks. That would be very convenient.
And 5D's has 2 so far. Kiryu shows up at the end of ep 32.
Kiryu grimaced at that, glancing around briefly. "Yeah. Where I'm from isn't quite as advanced at the main city, but it's still more advanced than this. This is hard to get used to. Although I'm guessing it's harder for you..."
kk xD I'm only on episode 5.. it'll be a bit XD
Saitou also had to concede it was good to hear someone else speaking Japanese. As much of a lone wolf he loved to be, he would at least like to buy his cigarettes and soba from someone that understood. He hoped there were more in this City who could also converse with him. Prayed, maybe; if a man like him ever did such a thing. Not particularly.
"It is... very difficult. And annoying." He threw his cigarette butt on the ground, then, and proceeded to rub his temples for a few seconds. The Mibu wolf glanced over, now, a bit curious. "Where were you off to?"
Oooo, you're almost to some of the really good stuff.
Kiryu shrugged at the question; he hadn't really been going anywhere. "Nowhere in particular. I'm bored, so I was really just looking for something to do. And a bit hungry. I figured it shouldn't be too hard to barter for food."
I like it :) I love that they're using the Nazca lines XD
A man like Saitou also was far too prideful to really ask for help. ... But as he had wandered around in his mind before, this man reminded him of someone. He could at least spend more time with him to try and figure out who, and why. Not to mention soba would be nice, the wolf mused. Another way to vent by relaxing with his favorite food. Once again, Saitou hoped there was a place that had some.
"... Is there soba somewhere?" Saitou inquired, glancing around the City. He was crossing his fingers mentally that there was, somewhere.
^_^ I know; it was such a great idea.
He grinned at the suggestion and pulled out his communicator. "Dunno, but that's a great idea. I'll see if this thing will let me search for stuff like that."
I think you've converted a fan XD
Saitou just stood and observed him, resting a hand on his katana, since that hand was used to holding a cigarette, and now felt empty. He'd rather not be shooed out of a restaurant for his smoking... he couldn't guarantee no one would get hurt. Kyosuke seemed to have quite a grip on the technology here.
... Damn his pride. To hell with it. "How do you go about doing that?"
XD I'm just the messenger; 5D's converts people on its own.
"It took me a while to figure it out. However this thing is programmed, it wasn't done with human interaction in mind. Nothing is intuitive...[Insert explanation here]."
it works XD
Though at the time Saitou really had no reason to dismember the guy. He was actually... tolerable, the wolf supposed, to be around. Wasn't particularly annoying. Wasn't spouting off ideals of "never killing again" or "needing to settle a score" or any other irritating phrases Saitou could think of. Again that rooster-head came to mind but the Mibu wolf willed it away.
Surprisingly Saitou was a quick learner to the device - as soon as it was explained properly, at least. In a few minutes he'd already figured out the programming and which buttons and folders went to which program of sorts. He almost beamed when he found a place called Ryoko's Restaurant, which had a description in Japanese. Excellent.
Now for a second opinion.
"Have you been there before?" The wolf inquired.
[ooc: Maybe
no subject
And he was a fast learner. That was always a good thing. Much as he'd loved Crow, he'd always found it hard to be around his kids. They were just too young for him to have any sort of conversation with them.
Kiryu shook his head. "I haven't really been out of my room since getting there. Might as well check it out."
[ooc: That is frightening to think about. Brilliant idea. We should do it.]
I might edit this later I dunno ><
