WHERE: Deceptibase
WHEN: Sometime after Blitzwing's 'how do you heal bones faster' post.
WARNINGS: None!
SUMMARY: Blitzwing was complaining that Shockwave's broken arm was taking too long to fix. After all, THERE IS A TWO PLAYER PART TO VIDEO GAMES AND NOT-SHOCK BEING UNABLE TO PLAY IS . So as a friend of Kiryu, Bakura has offered to heal Shockwave's arm!
FORMAT: Quicklog.
[Hn. He had returned to the apartment to meet with that healer child. Blitzwing's post to the network had been entirely unnecessary, but the Triple changer did have one valid point. He was less productive with a bone fracture in his arm. While the main reason of the post had been so he could play video games sooner, healing his arm would be quite beneficial overall. He would deal with the after effect of having to actually play video games later. For now, he sat in the kitchen sipping some tea - always with the tea - as he waited.]

[Assuming Kiryuu's just kinda hanging out there until Cali arrives?]
He did his best not to fidget as he waited for the door to be opened.]]
*wave*
Heh, don't be so worried, Bakura-kun. It'll be fine.
SUP GUYS.
Not-Shock! They're here!
[He distractedly gestured for them to follow him inside as he led the way toward the kitchen.]
no subject
Well, at least he knew they were in the right place! And he was fairly sure that was the person he had talked to on the com.
He still felt pretty nervous and fidgeted with his dice]]
no subject
He followed Bakura in with with own nod, more like a lazy bow than anything.]
no subject
Hello.
no subject
[[he nearly winced. Being nervous always made him sound so stupid...]]
he's pretty much just going to hang out if you want to keep going without me
Hey.
no subject
[He plops down at the table and returns to what he was doing. Which, apparently, was dipping strawberries in an enormous jar of peanut butter and eating them.]
He's all slow like this.
no subject
[Sigh. Such exaggeration from the triple changer.]
Would you like some tea?
[He gestures towards the kettle with his good arm. No need to be rude to their guests after all.]
[Gah. Somehow did not see this @_@ Sorry]
[[He closed his eyes in concentration, taking a deep breath to calm his nerves before framing his intent and tossing his dice in the air, silently calling the spell.
There was a breif pause as the dice clattered on the floor before a soft white glow materialized around Shockwave's arm, bringing with it the feel of a cool spring breeze. The glow slowly sunk into the arm, mending the broken bone and repairing any other damage in the area]]
IT'S BEEN AN ENTIRE THREE HOURS. HOW DARE YOU kidding <3
How'd you do that?
no subject
Thank you. This is greatly appreciated.

[[Gives Shockwave a small smile]] I'm glad I could help!
no subject
Good for fixing these "bone" things.
no subject
...Agreed.
[The information on the child's power was intriguing...]
The ability the Porter gave you, was based on something from a game in your world? I hope you do not mind the inquiry, but what kind of game was it?

I cannot say I've heard of that before. Do explain.
[He was actually rather curious about this.]
Explaining D&D to humanized robots. Epic nerdery :D
Aah, it's a group based game, where you have a party of characters who are all working together to reach an end goal in a storyline. The basic story in Monster World is that the Dark Lord Zork is causing destruction in the land, and the heroes need to reach his castle an defeat him. But it's never that straight forward! Normally the group is sent by an NPC-- aah, that's a non player character, a puppet of the Game Master who's running the campaign-- on a small quest, like finding a stolen treasure or something like that, that unlocks the main storyline.
fff it really is XD
it's like a dream come true
[Well it sounded straightforward enough, but...]
What is the purpose of it?
Only in C&C :) It should be subtitled "Nerd Dreams" :D
[[and back to Shockwave]] Aah, the same as any game, to have fun with friends!
I need to stop falling asleep mid-tag. >.<
So there's no rolling tables at dragons?
[Dips another strawberry in peanut butter. Mmmmm.]
You need to get more sleep D|
[Pauses to stare at Blitzwing.]
...What
...
Why would anyone want to roll tables at dragons?
no subject
I have lots to dooooo
[Eating yet another strawberry.]
So the part about rolling and tables is just ... the dice on the table, right?
ummmmm consume more caffeine? /not helpful ever
[Not to mention illogical.]
So certain aspects of the game are dependent on luck... How much strategy is involved?
no subject
Aah, it's all about strategy! Even if you get all good rolls, if you're just blundering ahead without a plan, you won't get anywhere! Even building characters involves a lot of strategy, since you're choosing what bonuses and skills you'll have to work with in the rest of the game!
/drinks more. (also I kind of want them to play this now)
[What's that? Strategy? He immediately perks up, paying very close attention.]
...they really should play this.
[He did... enjoy playing a good strategy game every now and then.]
That would be...epic :D
/must learn how to actually play now
[He does love his strategy.
Even if it's not usuallyhis.]this could somehow tie into shocky and bakura playing video games?
Baku uses Monster World rules. I haven't played D&D in AAAGES. :) And sure thing. :)
I will! It shouldn't take more than a week to finish the basic set, even with work, and I can finish up the player figures when everyone's building their characters!
Blitz would love more people to play video games with \o/
gah why am I just getting the notif for these replies
[He pours a cup of tea, offering it to Bakura.]
What does building a character entail?
Because LJ is epic fail somedays?
You pick a character class and race, each which has it's own set of strengths and weaknesses and skill sets, then roll dice to determine your base attributes, like attack and defense. Then you look through the list of possible skills for your character class and choose which ones you want to put your points into.
[[takes a small sip of tea, giving a big smile]] Aah, this is good, thank you!
