had a good idea the other day

WHO: [livejournal.com profile] notsoloyal, [livejournal.com profile] shiromadoushi, [livejournal.com profile] satisfiedsigner & [livejournal.com profile] 10pointsforme
WHERE: Deceptibase
WHEN: Sometime after Blitzwing's 'how do you heal bones faster' post.
WARNINGS: None!
SUMMARY: Blitzwing was complaining that Shockwave's broken arm was taking too long to fix. After all, THERE IS A TWO PLAYER PART TO VIDEO GAMES AND NOT-SHOCK BEING UNABLE TO PLAY IS UNACCEPTABLE. So as a friend of Kiryu, Bakura has offered to heal Shockwave's arm!
FORMAT: Quicklog.

[Hn. He had returned to the apartment to meet with that healer child. Blitzwing's post to the network had been entirely unnecessary, but the Triple changer did have one valid point. He was less productive with a bone fracture in his arm. While the main reason of the post had been so he could play video games sooner, healing his arm would be quite beneficial overall. He would deal with the after effect of having to actually play video games later. For now, he sat in the kitchen sipping some tea - always with the tea - as he waited.]
shiromadoushi: (Timid)

[Assuming Kiryuu's just kinda hanging out there until Cali arrives?]

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-23 11:40 am (UTC)(link)
[[Bakura took a deep, calming breath before knocking on the door. He was always a little nervous about this sort of 'house call,' worried he'd get the wrong place, worried that he had no idea who he was going to go see (or even the name of the person, but he had Kiryu with him to cover those things in this case, thankfully,) nervous about the person whom he was going to see thinking he was strange or strange looking (all though again, with this person being friends with Kiryu... At least he knew white hair wasn't totally out of place!)

He did his best not to fidget as he waited for the door to be opened.]]
satisfiedsigner: (Normal: smirk)

*wave*

[personal profile] satisfiedsigner 2009-08-23 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Kiryu leaned back against the wall next to Shockwave's door, loking around curiously. If Bakura was planning on counting on him to know if they were in the right place, he was out-of-luck; Kiryu hadn't been to any of the Decepticons' apartments yet. But he trusted Shockwave to give them the right location. Or at least, one he was comfortable with giving out. He wasn't sure if Shockwave was still on the wanted list...]

Heh, don't be so worried, Bakura-kun. It'll be fine.

SUP GUYS.

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-24 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Several moments later, a tall blond man clad almost entirely in purple answered the door -- though it was more like throwing it open, then catching it just before it hit the wall. Fortunately, Blitzwing had had the sense to put on his sunglasses, so glowing red eyes wouldn't be an issue. As it was, he just looked rather ... odd. He stared at the two humans for a moment, then looked over his shoulder and hollered:]

Not-Shock! They're here!

[He distractedly gestured for them to follow him inside as he led the way toward the kitchen.]
shiromadoushi: (Awkward)

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-24 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[[Bakura startled at the sudden motion, almost jumping back at it before giving a small, nervous smile. He gave a small nod, following the purple clad man into the apartment.

Well, at least he knew they were in the right place! And he was fairly sure that was the person he had talked to on the com.

He still felt pretty nervous and fidgeted with his dice]]
satisfiedsigner: (Normal: default smile)

[personal profile] satisfiedsigner 2009-08-24 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Kiryu glanced over when the door opened, pushing away from the wall. he didn't recognize the guy standing there, so it was probably Blitzwing. He and Shockwave shared color preferences.

He followed Bakura in with with own nod, more like a lazy bow than anything.]
shiromadoushi: (Embarrassed laugh)

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-24 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Aah, hello! [[bows out of nervous politeness]] You're the one who needed healing, right?

[[he nearly winced. Being nervous always made him sound so stupid...]]
satisfiedsigner: (Normal: default smile)

he's pretty much just going to hang out if you want to keep going without me

[personal profile] satisfiedsigner 2009-08-24 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Kiryu waved, stopping in the doorway for a moment. That tea smelled good...]

Hey.

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-24 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he's the one who needs it. It's taking forever.

[He plops down at the table and returns to what he was doing. Which, apparently, was dipping strawberries in an enormous jar of peanut butter and eating them.]

He's all slow like this.

shiromadoushi: (Happy - 01)

[Gah. Somehow did not see this @_@ Sorry]

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-24 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Aah, that's all right! [[smiles, blinking a bit at the peanut butter. Well, people did eat odd things...]] I can take care of your arm first...

[[He closed his eyes in concentration, taking a deep breath to calm his nerves before framing his intent and tossing his dice in the air, silently calling the spell.

There was a breif pause as the dice clattered on the floor before a soft white glow materialized around Shockwave's arm, bringing with it the feel of a cool spring breeze. The glow slowly sunk into the arm, mending the broken bone and repairing any other damage in the area]]

IT'S BEEN AN ENTIRE THREE HOURS. HOW DARE YOU kidding <3

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-24 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sits there with a peanut butter covered strawberry sticking halfway out of his mouth, staring at the light. Finally, he bites it and holds what's left by the stem.]

How'd you do that?
shiromadoushi: (Embarrassed laugh)

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-24 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[[Crouches down to pick up his dice again, looking almost embarrassed]] Aah, it's the ability the Porter gave me, based on my character from my favorite game back home. [[says with a small laugh]] It's been really useful here!

[[Gives Shockwave a small smile]] I'm glad I could help!

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-24 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Finally stops staring and eats the rest of his strawberry.]

Good for fixing these "bone" things.

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-25 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't mind at all! It's a type of Tabletop Roll Playing Game! [[smiles happily. He could go on for Monster World for HOURS if someone was interested enough to listen! Most of the time they weren't, but he was getting better at keeping the explanations short so he wouldn't bore people.]] A lot like Dungeons and Dragons, if you've ever heard of it!

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[And this would be Blitzwing giving a very confused stare as he pictures people rolling tables at dragons in a dungeon.]
shiromadoushi: (Embarrassed laugh)

Explaining D&D to humanized robots. Epic nerdery :D

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-25 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[[Bakura was very good at recognizing that type of face in reaction the things he liked . It really didn't bother him, however, he was used to it, after all.]]

Aah, it's a group based game, where you have a party of characters who are all working together to reach an end goal in a storyline. The basic story in Monster World is that the Dark Lord Zork is causing destruction in the land, and the heroes need to reach his castle an defeat him. But it's never that straight forward! Normally the group is sent by an NPC-- aah, that's a non player character, a puppet of the Game Master who's running the campaign-- on a small quest, like finding a stolen treasure or something like that, that unlocks the main storyline.

fff it really is XD

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
So you have some guy telling you to go do a bunch of meaningless things that are supposed to get you closer to something else...?
shiromadoushi: (Happy ^_^)

Only in C&C :) It should be subtitled "Nerd Dreams" :D

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-25 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[[Turns to Blitzwing at his question]] Aah, it's not really meaningless! Each side quest has a plot point that advances the main storyline, and your characters get stronger as well!

[[and back to Shockwave]] Aah, the same as any game, to have fun with friends!

I need to stop falling asleep mid-tag. >.<

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Doesn't sound nearly violent enough for Blitzwing's tastes.]

So there's no rolling tables at dragons?

[Dips another strawberry in peanut butter. Mmmmm.]
shiromadoushi: (Eh?)

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-26 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
[[... that was a new one. Bakura blinked at Blitzwing as well]] Aa... the only thing you roll is the dice to see how well your attack or spell worked...

I have lots to dooooo

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. Maybe it's exciting?

[Eating yet another strawberry.]

So the part about rolling and tables is just ... the dice on the table, right?
shiromadoushi: (Embarrassed laugh)

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-26 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Aah, it's role playing as in playing a role or a part! [[explaines with a small laugh]] And it's played on top of a table.

Aah, it's all about strategy! Even if you get all good rolls, if you're just blundering ahead without a plan, you won't get anywhere! Even building characters involves a lot of strategy, since you're choosing what bonuses and skills you'll have to work with in the rest of the game!

/drinks more. (also I kind of want them to play this now)

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Well that makes more sense than rolling tables.

[What's that? Strategy? He immediately perks up, paying very close attention.]
shiromadoushi: (Happy ^_^)

That would be...epic :D

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-26 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't mind at all! [[His voice is nearly gleeful]] I've gotten the maps finished for it, and the campaign is mostly worked out, I just need to finish making the figures and we can play whenever you'd like!

/must learn how to actually play now

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like fun.

[He does love his strategy. Even if it's not usually his.]
shiromadoushi: (Happy ^_^)

Baku uses Monster World rules. I haven't played D&D in AAAGES. :) And sure thing. :)

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-08-26 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[[OoC: Just say the word "Game" and Baku is there :D]]

I will! It shouldn't take more than a week to finish the basic set, even with work, and I can finish up the player figures when everyone's building their characters!

Blitz would love more people to play video games with \o/

[identity profile] 10pointsforme.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Just grins at this and eats another strawberry. Hopefully the strategy will make up for the lack of violence. Or it'll be more violent that it sounds. Hopefully.]
shiromadoushi: (Happy ^_^)

Because LJ is epic fail somedays?

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2009-09-03 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
Aah, thank you! [[smiles happily as he accepts]]

You pick a character class and race, each which has it's own set of strengths and weaknesses and skill sets, then roll dice to determine your base attributes, like attack and defense. Then you look through the list of possible skills for your character class and choose which ones you want to put your points into.

[[takes a small sip of tea, giving a big smile]] Aah, this is good, thank you!
