picture you upon my knee
WHO: Cavil and Shockwave
WHERE: A cafe on the side streets.
WHEN: Afternoon of 8/27
WARNINGS: ...no really, they're just warbots having tea. *raises pinkie*
SUMMARY: Cavil invites Shockwave to tea because he wants to gush about how cool it is to be a machine.
FORMAT: Quicklog.
[It was typical, really, for Cavil to arrive just on time or even a few minutes late... but he was finding it difficult, this time, not to arrive early. It wasn't that he was excited about the tea - to be frank, he wasn't exactly keen on the taste. It was the opportunity to connect with another machine. Sure, there was Starscream, but they had never really talked, not to mention Cavil wasn't so sure he represented the ideal, model machine. But this one, Shockwave, well--
He showed promise.
He did arrive early, and found a table in the back of the cafe where he hoped too many people wouldn't bother them. While he waited, he paged through the newspaper.]

As usual Shockwave was prompt. No need to keep people waiting. Spotting Cavil, he made his way to the back of the cafe.]
Greetings.
no subject
Greetings. I'm glad you could make it. Have a seat. [He glanced to the front of the cafe, trying to catch a waiter's eye.] I'm... sure we're getting service eventually, as long as we give them a few more minutes to sort themselves out. The quotidian must be trying for them these days.
no subject
They should be used to it by now, though this service speed is expected. It is about the same as everywhere else... Quite a shame really, seeing as this type of job is not exactly difficult.
no subject
A shame is what it is. When you accept a job, you should be good at it. You should be flowing like clockwork, you see, cutting off potential errors and moving forward, instead of tripping over your own feet. But you're right, Shockwave - it's all too common out here. That is what I call you, isn't it?
no subject
And yes, that is. Aside from getting a job I never saw much of a need for an alias.
no subject
Yes, well, they can't really help it. They're only human, after all. I imagine it must be particularly difficult for you, adjusting to such an environment. I've heard that your kind has their own world.

[Not that his race didn't have its own flaws, but those were so much easier to fix. A brow arched just slightly at the minor change in Cavil's expression. Curious.]
It can be a bit taxing, at times, but it is no more difficult than anything else. While adjusting to this body and the cultural habits has been mildly confusing, information is quite easy to find - and I was also somewhat aware of how things worked on this planet, before being brought to the City.
...
Hm, Cybertron... Our metallic planet is about the same size as this Solar System's Saturn, it has a light oxygen-based atmosphere and orbits Alpha Centauri. It is truly a remarkable planet. And despite all my studies on it, there is still much I have yet to figure out.

[He quieted when the waiter returned and set down each of their drinks, followed by the pastry in front of Cavil. Once the waiter left, he started speaking again, but his voice was low, now. Hushed. Conspiratorial.]
You know, it's interesting that you brought up "alter egos." I've already told Starscream and another one of your kind, but I myself am a robot. [He narrowed his eyes.] Not something I'd usually throw around, but there was a boy claiming to be a death god the other day, and no one even blinked an eye.

[He picked up his tea, taking a sip. Once Cavil had begun speaking again a slight look of interest appeared on Shockwave's face. Not much of an expression, but an expression nonetheless.]
Really. Would this be your true form then, or were you also subjected to the Porter's alterations? If you do not mind the inquiry.
no subject
Regrettably, this is my true form. It carries its advantages, though, in that the porter hasn't altered my attributes in the slightest. I can assure you that no matter how much I look like one of them, I'm fundamentally different. I have the opportunity to reach perfection. Which is why I'm interested in you.
no subject
Yes, I can see how that would be beneficial in this kind of situation.
Perfection. What does that entail? ...And you believe I would be able to assist you in achieving such?
and sorry for the long delay! dealing with school ^^;
I'm going to be optimistic. I'm going to say that perfection is merely pushing past the flaws of mankind and truly embracing all that our robotic nature entails. You've lived without them - humans - in your own society, a pure robotic society that I'm sure I can only dream about. You've been built free from their influence. Haven't you?
that's okay. and crap this tag is late.
[A pause.]
Though correcting those flaws is much simpler. I already aided in creating improvements to the planet and our species. Preforming our primary functions at maximum efficiency would have been reached, were I given more time.
