WHERE: Some abandoned construction site.
WHEN: Tuesday, October 13 afternoon.
WARNINGS: Nah.
SUMMARY: Metabee and Rua test out their brand spankin' new powers.
FORMAT: Quicklog.

[Metabee is perched up on a pile of steel beams lying around that no one had gotten around to erecting before the company in charge said 'screw it' and left. Apparently they were also too lazy to take the beams out of the abandoned lot with them when they skedaddled.

He's currently very intently staring at his hands and willing them to do something. Finding out about his first power had been an accident, so he's not entirely sure how to trigger anything this time around.]

Rua's line of sight moves from his own hands to Metabee's for a second. "H-hey....just how are we supposed to figure this out anyway...?"

"Not sure. How'd you figure your last power out?" [He shakes his head in frustration, then raises an arm away from them and makes 'pewpew' noises. Nothing, of course.] "Nnnnope."

"....I gave our toaster hands."

"Oh yeah, I think I remember hearing about that. Funny thing - I found out about mine by making my hand a toaster." [A laugh, then a huffy sigh.] "Neither's gonna help us much here though."

"Oh yeeaaah I think you told me that!"

Rua lets out the same sigh. "...how do other people find out about their powers?"

"Hey, stories like ours deserve telling twice."

[Metabee shrugs, leaning back and crossing his legs in a relaxed pose.] "Falling off of buildings, from what I've seen."

"Hey, Yuusei and Ruka's powers always came out when they were dueling..."

Rua darts to his feet. "Metabee, we gotta fight each other!"

[He perks up at that, grinning wildly and scrabbling to a stand.]

You're a genius, man! A little roughhousing'll work for sure!

"Yeah!"

Not wanting to waste time, Rua picks up a small pipe...and swings it at Metabee as hard as he can.

[Metabee lets out a 'whoa!', unable to move quick enough to dodge. He's beaned by the pipe across an arm that was rising to defend himself, scoring himself a nice new gash. He hisses out in pain between clenched teeth, but his other hand bolts out to try and swipe the pipe from Rua.]

"Hng - hey!" The pipe is grabbed and Rua tries to keep a hold on it, but he's not as tough as Metabee, so it's swiped away.

[Bee isn't one to pull punches, but he casts away the pipe, chucking it across the lot. He figures any damage that would do is more than he really wants to do to Rua. Metabee opts for a more (literally) hands-on approach and aims a punch for the other's gut.]

Rua is slugged in the gut and stumbles backwards, coughing a little bit -- Metabee hits hard than he expected. He winds up his fist in a way that seems physically impossible and leaps at Metabee, taking a swing at his jaw.

[Metabee takes the punch, grunting as he feels something in his jaw give. That's going to plague him later, he just knows it. Rua punching him means he's in close range, though, and he takes the opportunity to lash out with an arm, trying to fling the boy aside.]
