CLOSED (for now?) Kiryu and Alastair
At least the boys were watching for this.
Alastair stood at the window and simply muttered, "Shit."
Re: CLOSED (for now?) Kiryu and Alastair
"I'm ready to go," Kiryu said softly, eyes following one of them work its way toward the building. It almost reminded him of when the HIVE's mutants had attacked.
He shoved that thought away almost immediately. Saitou had made it clear he already mattered to him then. Remembering it hurt.

"Lemme just grab my coat and my laptop on the way downstairs. You'll have to do all the dirty work..." His lips twisted briefly in a scowl before he pushed past Kiryu. "I'm useless. All I can do is drive."

He grabbed the bag, and only paused long enough to stuff a spare shirt in the side pocket, and then grab his coat, before heading out. "It's all right. You do the death-dealing right now, I'll keep the bike steady."

He wouldn't usually be so caustic so quickly around Alastair, but usually he hadn't lost two friends, his life, and traded around powers in two weeks.
And he didn't stay that way for long. A moment later, he grinned and bounced out the door behind him. "C'mon, I want to destroy as many of those things as I can."

Unfortunately, it looked like the zombies were closer to his motorcycle than they were. And the street beyond had a lot more than there were five minutes ago.
"Shit," he breathed, again. "Where did they come from?"
no subject
"Who cares? They won't be going back there." he smirks back over, holding out a hand. "You said you had a Fire Whip card?"
no subject
He shouldn't have been all that scared, he had faced some pretty terrible things in his life, but the way the zombies moved was just unnerving. He wanted to be on that bike, now, damn the zombies!

Of course, the zombies' movements got a little more cautious when the flaming whip appeared in his hand. He handed the card back to Alastair, switched hand, and drew his katana as well.
And then he ran forward, laughing and slashing at the fumbling bodies with both the whip and the sword. Any time the whip connected, it flared and the zombie bust into flames. It wasn't long before Kiryu was in the middle of a field of fire.
FFFF that face
At last, there was enough of an opening. Alastair broke into a sprint and dashed for the bike, keys already in his right hand. He threw himself astride the motorcycle and fumbled to get it started. That was half the goal - the other was having enough of a gap in the wall of zombies to escape them. He kept his hands on the handlebars and revved the engine, waiting as patiently as he could for Kiryu to do his worst to those things.
XD i never get a chance to use it
He made a quick circle around the bike, attacking what he could, before jumping on behind Alastair.
"Let's see if this will work..." he murmured. Then he closed his eyes and thought back to the last couple weeks, and how much finding Saitou's comm just laying there had hurt, and how angry he was at the Porter for everything it had done, and anything negative he'd been feeling. His other powers worked better when he was pissed off and hurt after all.
Sure enough, the fires flared up about three fold, lighting the next "row" of zombies and the one behind that. Kiryu coughed and slumped a little against Alastair's back; that had drained him much more than he'd expected.
"Fuck, I'm not doing that again. Go."

...mostly open street. It looked like the pack invading their home had reinforcements this direction. At top speed it would take less than a minute for the Ducati to be on them.

More of them. Lovely~
"Want your first taste of riding dueling?" Kiryu said, just loud enough to be heard. He carefully sheathed his sword and grabbed for his deck, or rather, the second card from the top. He already knew what it was; he always put it back there.
"Come out, Infernity Beast!"
The dog-like monster appeared next running next to them, actually at it's full size for once. It barks and dashes ahead, straight for the reinforcements.

"Just tell me if I need to speed up or slow down," he called out, muffled through the helmet.
no subject
Infernity Beast darted back and forth in front of them, blasting some zombies with fire breath, grabbing others in its jaws and tossing them around like giant chew toys. Kiryu didn't say a word; he didn't need to. Infernity Beast knew what he wanted.
no subject
"What do you think?" he yelled, turning his head just slightly to where Kiryu could hear him better. "The kids' base or Edgeworth's?"
no subject
He took a moment to think over those choices. Hang out with Bakura or get to bother Ruka and Rua. Much as he would have loved to annoy the little Signer brat, he didn't trust them enough to pass out in that house. She'd probably try to kill him in his sleep.
"Where Bakura's at!" he answered, flicking the whip out again.

But he was definitely losing steam too. Infernity Beast was still going strong in front of them, but it paused a couple times like it wasn't sure what to do next.

He was going mostly on memory, from Lyra's directions, but after a bit when it looked like they were in a safe area, Alastair slowed and put his foot down, letting the bike idle while he plucked out his comm. "Watch our backs while I get the directions." He glanced over his shoulder briefly. "You doing okay?"
no subject
Kiryu laughed a little, watching his monster stalk around. "I'm tired. The sooner we get there, the better."
no subject
He checked both ways before hitting the road again, now having to watch for street signs as well as zombies. For all his complaining, he felt pretty useful at the moment, if only to be part of a kickass team to save themselves.
no subject
He had to let the Fire Whip go, though. He just pulled out his sword instead. Saitou would be proud.
no subject
But yes. There were more zombies tottering around its foundation. Wonderful.
