WHO: Kitty
jewpryde and Gar
of_animalia
WHERE: Kitty's apartment
WHEN: Thursday night
WARNINGS: Abuse of caps lock =D
SUMMARY: Kitty is slightly suspicious of Gar's behavior (aka DESIRE) as of late. Also, she gives herself the night off from Hulksitting (it's okay, he's at home watching his stories and playing with She-Hulk maybe). They meet up and SHIT GETS REAL.
FORMAT: Quick log-chan
---
[Kitty dries her hair with a towel, feeling refreshed about a long shower. She loved Dr. Banner, she really did, but Hulksitting was the hardest thing she had ever done in her life, not to mention the most stressful. She wonders when he'll turn back. Hopefully soon. Very soon.
For a moment she entertains the thought of getting more dressed up than a pair of basketball shorts and a tank top but, eh. Gar had seen her first thing in the morning with hair that looked like it had eaten the last brush that came near it. He would deal with it.
Speaking of-- she couldn't help that nagging little feeling that something was going on with him. Kitty couldn't pinpoint it, exactly, so maybe she was just imagining things. Everyone was acting pretty weirdly all around.
God, this city.]

God, this city.]

Here, Kitty, Kitty! Guess who.
no subject
Gosh, I wonder, who could it be?
no subject
[ He flapped from the counter and transformed back into a human being, smirking with that casual stance. ]
You're such a smart girl and everything.
no subject
What can I say? I'm just too wonderful.
[She quickly looked him over-- he LOOKED normal enough.]
no subject
[This said with a smile, and, yeah, he catches the once-over. An eyebrow raises.]
What?
no subject
[So far so good. It probably WAS just her imagination.
Kitty was relieved. After every crazy event in this city, her mind was just going into overdrive. Maybe she needed to meditate or something.]
no subject
[ He leans on the counter and glances over with a cheeky expression. ]
I hope it was good to you.
no subject
Haha, wouldn't you like to know?
no subject
Well, actually... I'll bet it's a great story.
no subject
[She reaches over to smooth her hand over his shoulder, squeezing lightly.]
Maybe when you're a little older.
[Even though, technically, he was older than her. That was besides the point.]
no subject
[ This was because of the jokes about flashing, right? Because this was the second time in recent history that his purity had come up. Oh, well. It was probably better than being known as a weirdo perv.
Somewhere in his back pocket, his phone beeps. He ignores it. ]
no subject
Aren't you going to get that?
no subject
What were you saying?
no subject
[Kitty leans over and finally kisses him. Out of the corner of her eye, she sees his phone light up again. Okay, that was seriously getting distracting.]
Who keeps texting you? Your teammates?
no subject
[Of course, he only gets one kiss before the phone goes off again. Now really.
To be honest, he doesn't really know who's texting him. True, a couple of them put their names into his phone, but he can't even properly match faces to those names.]
No, just... People.
[Off-network people. Mostly girls that he'd flirted with shamelessly when everybody else was too busy for putting up with him. He picks up the phone and again cycles through the message without paying attention to it.
And now he contemplates hiding it.]
no subject
Is everything okay?
[That was weird. But she wasn't going to be that suspicious girlfriend, no. She really wasn't! It has driven her crazy in her previous relationships. Kitty was going to be-- she was going to be trusting.
For now.]
I mean, you've gotten like ten text messages.
no subject
[His mouth presses into a line. He's sure than an explanation would make him sound sorry if not outright pathetic. You probably sound like a tool if you tell your girlfriend that you tried to go out and do normal-people things because you felt unusually lonely and you didn't know where all your friends went and she was busy delivering cookies and babysitting her boss's alter ego.]
I tried for a normal-kid night and my phone got passed around. That's all. It's probably just people who think they're funny or something.
no subject
Oh yeah? Was it fun?
[Oh, you can bet Kitty is still thinking about that phone. She is planning to get her hands on it but not yet. She would have to wait for the opportune time.]
no subject
It was alright. I should probably just stick to what I know.
no subject
Fighting the bad guys? Changing into crazy animals? Having the cutest girlfriend in the city?
[She would just need to distract him long enough to make a grab for the phone. Easy. He was pretty easily distracted, especially when she acted so completely adorable.]
no subject
All of the above. Naturally.
no subject
Mhmm. Smooth talker.
[Kitty kisses him suddenly and without warning. Best way to get him off guard, really.]
no subject
no subject
Really. How stupid do you think I am? You're a terrible liar!
[Kitty is looking through the text message screen. HOW MANY GIRL'S NAMES WERE IN HERE? Needless to say, Kitty is pissed.]
Who are all these GIRLS??
no subject
Uh. Just...
no subject
Just in case she wants to punch him in the face. She is brandishing the cellphone like a weapon, poking him in the chest with it.]
Well?? Just what??
no subject
[ Not that it would save him. Even if they'd added themselves to his contact list... He had to contact them for them to get his number, right?
... Oh crap. He couldn't even remember exactly how this had compounded, and the confusion of a sudden confrontation wasn't helping in the least.
He felt harried.]
no subject
Are you SERIOUS?? Don't lie to me! You have FIVE seconds to explain what the hell is going on!!
no subject
1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi...]
I-- I mean... I don't know!
[The situation wasn't a logical one, in retrospect, and he hadn't stopped to consider that before. Fuck.]
no subject
[Kitty looks down at the phone again.]
AND WHO SPELLS TIFFANY WITH AN "I" AT THE END!?
no subject
That Tiffany does, apparently.
no subject
Just-- just go, okay?
[She shoves the phone at him, all business. But hey, at least she didn't throw it at his head like she originally wanted.]
no subject
At that, he's still. Still by the counter, he sets his weight against it and regards her with a look that genuinely confused, definitely hurt at the order. ]
Kitty...
no subject
What?
no subject
C'mon... Don't be like that.
no subject
[Her scowl spoke volumes. She phased before his fingers could even brush her.]
If you wanted to break up, you should have just said so instead of doing something like this.
no subject
W-what?
I didn't... I don't want that!
no subject
Are you kidding me? You have to be seriously kidding me. You're kidding me, right?
Why else would a guy go and get other girls' numbers unless he was bored with who he was with?
[Now unphased, she runs her hands through her hair, agitated. This didn't even make any sense.]
no subject
[Not that any explanation he could give would satisfy. He had probably already wrecked his chances.
Just another day in the life, right?]
I'm not bored with you. I just... I felt lonely, I think, and everybody else was busy. I... I just wanted some company, I guess.
[Smaller, then. He lets out something like a laugh, but with more self-aimed bitterness.]
Wow. That sounds so fucking stupid.
no subject
[This had just spiraled so terribly out of control, she didn't even know what she was feeling anymore.]
I mean, did you think I wouldn't be upset?? What am I even SUPPOSED to think? Sure, sometimes I get lonely, too, but you don't see me flirting it up with a thousand guys in the city!
no subject
I don't know. You were busy. Everybody was busy. I didn't want to bother anybody or... Or for anybody to tell me to go away, so I just...
no subject
She was supposed to be pissed at him.
What was this, even?]
I wouldn't tell you to go away. You know that.
no subject
Well... Sure, but I still would've been just... In the way, you know?
no subject
[God, why was it that no matter what she did in a relationship it ended up like this? This had to be some karmic retribution for how she treated her last boyfriend.]
Well? Are you proud of yourself? Happy?
no subject
No.
[ He was probably just an irredeemable jackass, actually. ]
no subject
I have to get up early tomorrow. Goodnight.
no subject
[Goddammit.]
Yeah. Sure. I'll just...
[He's totally smashing his freakin' phone. Hell.]
Yeah.
