[Cole wasn't much of a sit-in-the-park-and-take-in-the-scenery kind of guy, but you know what they say about taking things for granted? It was nice seeing a park that wasn't completely trashed. Or turned into a massive trash-fortress for a paranoid psychic. He didn't think he'd actually miss this kind of crap.

So for now, he stretched back on a bench, hands behind his head, and actually just... stared at everything.

It was kind of nice.

At least, that's what things started off like, anyway.]

[Troy wasn't much of a sit-in-the-park kind of teen either, he was, however, a run-around-the-park-with-far-too-much-energy kind of teen. He's done his skateboarding, he's done his several laps of running around the park, and now he's keeping himself occupied with basketball practice. No surprise there.

It's been a hard few hours of activity for Troy, so he'll have to be forgiven at getting a little too eager with some of his throws. Especially that one that's just hit the backboard and rebounded right in Cole's direction.

[Cole's reflexes are fast enough that he catches... well, right before it's gonna bounce in his face, but that's good enough for him.]

[Troy would've hated there to be an accident or anything! He looks distinctly genuine in his apology though as he bounds over and stop a foot or two away.]

[He bounces the ball once or twice before tossing it back.]

Played a little when I was in school.

[The teen catches it with an experienced ease, tucking the basketball under an arm and not leaving because he's polite like that.]

That's cool. Same here. I mean, I'm only just outta high school, but I'd totally like to continue it at like college or start up a team around here or whatever. I'm just doing football right now.

[Did Cole need to know Troy's life story? Either way, he'll probably hear it.]

Mm. I wasn't too big a sports guy. Went to college, wound up being a bike courier. ...Well, that's the fancy name for it anyway.

What a bike courier? Like a message delivering dude?

[He doesn't even know why he's talking to this kid. Sake of conversation, he guessed.]

Uh, okay. I kinda want a bike though. I think I'd probably look totally bitchin' in all the leathers and stuff. I can't afford that kinda stuff here though, cause I'm like totally poor and stuff.

[...Okay, now he's regretting this conversation. He just snrrk and shakes his head.]

[And yet now Cole will find that Troy never ever goes away. He's like the song that doesn't end, except even more annoying.]

You mean like pushbikes? Dude, I'm totally sweet on a BMX, though any bike is cool with me.

Yeah. Bicycles! I can't even afford one of those right now, but it's all good cause I've got some jobs starting up soon, then once the dollars start rolling in, I can maybe get a BMX or something. I've already spent what I've got on a cheap board.

Oh. [He just shrugs.] Up t'you. I have more fun getting around on my powers.

[Blinkblink. Troy's staring at him as if this is some brand new revelation.]

I totally forgot about powers! Holy crap, dude, you can get around quick with those?

[Holds up his hands, which are suddenly electrified.]

When you're a walking electrical field you can do a lot of things.

[Cole didn't really care much for the attention he got back home because of this. Not so much he hated it, he just didn't care. But talking about powers here was kinda interesting, seeing as everyone had 'em. Like trading baseball cards or some shit.]

[When it comes to powers, Troy's pretty much fanboying every few seconds of his life. This whole place is like the numerous movies, games and comics he's fanboyed over his whole life, and now he gets to see them for real. Plus he's easily excitable.]

[It's hard to tell with this kid. Fourth wall breaking happens so often he just doesn't bat an eyelid to it anymore.]
