Like a willow off the arm...
WHO: Raven Roth and Kyle Rayner
WHERE: Raven's house - Lake Placid
WHEN: Monday evening.
WARNINGS: None.
SUMMARY: Raven's commissioned Kyle to design and paint a mural for her dining room. Derp will most likely be involved here.
FORMAT: Quick
[ She wasn't very used to taking people up to her new home, settled up in the cold mountains above the city - so far only Arnold Rimmer had actually spent time in it, aside from some men who came to move some furniture in for her.
So teleporting into her house with someone new, albeit somewhat familiar given his 'titan' status, was a bit strange. But being greeted by one of the cats that bounded down the hall toward her eased some of that.
She slowly let go of Kyle's shoulder, the contact point she had needed to teleport them both from the tower, and took a step backwards, smiling. ]
... So, welcome. Ah, ignore the paint cans here--- [ Her eyes took in the couple of cans here in the hallway, along with some drop cloths along one wall. The wall was already half-painted there. ]

Wow. This place is gorgeous. [takes in the veiw outside and gives a low whistle]
[and CATS! Oh man, cats~ grins at this]

Thank you. It's got about five bedrooms, a few baths. I hoped to make this a place the titans and other friends of mine could go to get away from it all.
[ She motions to the little guy on the floor, with the splattered orange, blacks, and whites on his fur, and the smooshed-in face. ]
That's Peter, he loves attention.

[crouches down and rubs the kitty's ears]

Ah, this way - I assume you'd want to see the room and wall itself.

[makes a little green mouse for the cat to play with, and then follows her into the other room]

She pointed to the long wall, painted a dark brown color, no decorations on it, no line of windows like the opposing wall or doorways like the other two. Just a wall. ]
That would be the one there.

[he walks back and forth, those ghost-lines still tracing, one hand seeming to sketch in the air, and after a few minutes of this, finally turns back to her]
... how do you feel about art noveau? And peacocks?
no subject
The fabric on the chairs is called Peacock Blue, so obviously you're on to something. I find art noveau to be beautiful, and it'd look nice in here.
[ooc: fff that'd be gorgeous and right up her alley. Props to you :o]

[and starts sketching in earnest, now, just getting out a rough outline. He can't seem to decide if there should be one peacock or two, rapidly posing and re-posing them; he gets two males, then a male and a female, then a male and some little chicks; then nothing at all, just and abstract pattern; eventually, he settles for one peacock, perched on the right side of the wall, his tail feathers fanning out across the expanse to reach the other side.]
[In the eyes of the tail feathers, he draws little scenes, sketching as quickly as he can (which, since he's using the ring, is with stunning speed). Many of them are simple landscapes or abstract patterns, all tiny; but some are clearly abstract representations of different Titans he's known or known of - all the ones he knows about in the city, and many from home, most of the representations based on symbols from uniforms or powers. Simple and understated, all of it]
... that might be a little much, hm. But I thought, since this is a place for your friends and the Titans, maybe... and I can work in other friends of yours, if you give me an idea of what to put; and leave some blank for when you make new friends.
[keeps re-adjusting his lines while he talks, adding some curled, stylized clouds, Japanese style, by the peacock's head; simple grass under it's feet, a little snail; a border along the edges, only he erases the border and remakes it]
As for colors, I think the main thing would be to match the chairs, then some green for depth, silver lines and then some matching brown for shadows, to tie the room together. Not too much though, keep it simple...
[still re-adjusting things. There's a playful cat in one of the tail eyes now, and he abstracts the peacock a little bit]

[ At the mention of the friends and titans, however... her eyes drift down to the two silver charm bracelets that had been constantly attached to her wrist since sometime in April. She takes a few steps forward, coming right to his side now, still picking at the jewelry. ]
I like that idea - a lot, actually. [ She takes that moment to hold up the bracelets. Every single charm was the shape of an animal. ]
Almost from the time I arrived, I've been collecting these charms - one for each person I'm closest to. I meditate on them, it helps me to keep track of all of their emotions, so I don't confuse them with my own.
[ Her eyes fix back on what he's drawn. ]
There is nothing more important to me than my friends and my team. That being captured in this piece would be fantastic - especially since I do plan on hosting holiday dinners in here.

I'll do that, then. [he takes a good look at the bracelets] I can work the animal designs into the overall pattern, yeah. That... in fact, would work really beautifully, I think.
[he actually sketches a few of them in, here and there, containing each one within a feather's eye]
