We're married, dontcha know
WHO: Domino and Cable
WHERE: X-force HQ
WHEN: Tonight at supper time
WARNINGS: Cable and Domino logs are always hideous so you're warned.
SUMMARY: It's supper time y'all, so Dom and Nate talk a little over their food.
FORMAT: Quicklog!
[She's only been back for a few days now, but already Domino has fallen back into routine. Patrolling, X-forcing it up and training; she's back on track. Also time with Nate again isn't so bad, not that she'd ever say it out loud. She'd missed him. Now, they're simply eating supper together. It's not at all fancy, but it's them.]
Hnn.
[She leans back in her chair.]
I didn't get in trouble, you know.

[She leans back in her chair.]
I didn't get in trouble, you know.

We should start calling you Lady Luck.
[He munches on his noodles.]
no subject
That little cat wants to kill me, though. Should be interesting.
[Too bad for the kitty cat that things always fall into place for her.]
no subject
[And even if the kitty cat tries and succeeds, you know Cable will raise Hell.]
no subject
[She knows.]
no subject
[Slurp, slurp. Noodles. Mmm, beer. Refreshing.]
Have you tried dumping water on it?
no subject
[Beer, hell yes.]
Water, huh?
[That earns him a smirk.]
no subject
[Smiles back.]
Or we can send the dog after it.

no subject
[Pointed look. Cable might have forgotten something as simple as the Dog's name.]
no subject
[Grins]
You forgot the dog's name, didn't you?
no subject
[Cable just scowls and munches on his noodles.]
no subject
[She eats still.]
We'll figure out a tactic about the cat. Apparently he's more immortal than the porter makes him.

[She takes a drink.]
So, did 'Star tell you about his travels yet?
no subject
[But Cable might have an idea from snooping on the network.]

But each day, it felt like he was getting farther from his own world.]
Yes.

[Dom knows they don't need another Providence, but she trusted him with Rumekistan and she trusts him now.]
no subject
[He'll go.]
no subject
[She knows. Domino takes another drink.]
no subject
[Domino has to deal with Nazis. Shatterstar is now a humanitarian. What about golden boy?]
no subject
[Pauses]
You talk to Bobby at all?
no subject
[Grumble, grumble.]
His mind isn't set on juggling two teams right now. Girls on the other hand...
no subject
[Rolls her eyes.]
Think he's still adjusting to the city.

no subject
How long were you away?
no subject
[Shrugs.]
Why?
no subject
[He shrugs his shoulders also and pushes aside his plate with his TK.]
no subject
[Looks at him.]
I always deal.
no subject
[Remember that time Cable faked his death? Good times.]
no subject
It's not so bad here. When you're not knee deep in zombies.
[That was kind of fun though. Well, up until she had to kill Cable.]
no subject
[He wasn't sure whether he liked that or not. He had to keep moving, had to keep working, and he felt like a sitting duck here waiting for the next catastrophe to strike the City.]
no subject
Don't worry, Nate. I'm sure you'll get your random trip home. It happens to most of us.
no subject
[He stood up, taking a few steps away from the table. It was already dark out--pitch black actually and the cafeteria was lit by the dull, washed out lights they managed to get working. He clenched his fists and stared out the windows, into the far out city.]
no subject
I saw her.
