dc superheroes: ON ICE!!
WHO: A Red Robin and a morethanlikely blue-in-the-face Superman
WHERE: A Batcave. Yes we have one.
WHEN: 2/19!
WARNINGS: Derp.
SUMMARY: So Thupermang's body's been on ice for 1+ years. And suddenly he's not dead anymore. FUN!
FORMAT: Quickloggins
[The first thing he notices is the dark. There's dull light from...somewhere, something. He can't tell; his vision's blurry. What's going on?
When he tries to move, that's the second thing. It's cold. He's stiff, like he hadn't moved in ages. Don't panic, just think. Small space, cold, dark...What was the last thing...?
Tell Lois I said--
Huh.
He holds his breath a moment, trying to get a sense of himself, some semblance of warmth. So tired. He wasn't feeling so well; must've been a long time out of the sun...Time to get out.
He presses his hands against the glass and gives a little push, finding himself a lot weaker than he thought. That's no good. It was shut tight. It needed some coaxing. A pause for a quick breath, and he squints, grimacing. It takes a moment, but his eyes heat up, bit by bit, and a hot red light starts to bore into the casing by the glass. Slowly, so slowly. He pushes up with his hands again and feels the casing give just a bit. With one big heave, he pushes it up and the air hisses loudly with the discharge of cold.
Somewhere he hears the faintest beeping. Alarm...?]

This time, he's going to the Cave because an alarm had gone off. He'd linked the Cave's security to his monitor station in the Tower and - well, there it was, a little red light blinking for his attention. He was out the door and superspeeding right to the Cave within seconds, swooping inside and doing a quick check -
was that...]
... Superman?

He was slow to react, looking up and squinting. This was an outfit he didn't recognize, but a voice he slowly did. He frowned, wary. Was this an alternate universe thing? That seemed to happen a lot.]
You...sound familiar...[Erg. Supersight was still foggy.]
Give me a minute.
no subject
I sound - oh, right, the costume. It's me, Robin - um, well. Tim. Let me just...
[He pulls back the cowl and gives Clark a small smile, then frowns again. He darts off, and within seconds he comes back with a blanket, which he offers to Clark.]
You must be... uh, cold. Understatement. Here.
no subject
Things've changed again.
He sighs, shaking his head a little and blinking a few times to focus in the dim light. He accepts the blanket, shifting and getting his legs out of that tube.]
It's been a while, hasn't it. You've changed. [a rueful smile.] Good to see you.
no subject
Ah, yeah. It's actually Red Robin now, but that's - home stuff. Not really important here. [Since Bruce is aliiiiiive still.]
It's good to see you, too. It's been... well over a year since Bruce put you in stasis. I guess he knew you'd wake up eventually. [At least Tim hopes he knew ._.]
no subject
...There was a fight. Some kind of...red monster. He'd slipped up. He bled here.]
Bruce did...[looking about.] Where is he?
no subject
The Bruce who was here was Ported out, but there's another version of him here now. He's still not our Bruce, but - closer. He preferred to make his own Cave to work from, and only recently came back, but I was looking after this one.
[He clears his throat and looks awkward again.]
I haven't explained the situation with the cryostasis to... many people at all, really. Dick knows, and Bruce, but you were - well, dead, as far as we could tell. I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up, just because it didn't stick after Doomsday...
no subject
But a Batman that isn't at least a little rigid is--His eyes lift back up to Tim at the awkward ahem, watching carefully.
Dead again.
He exhales slowly, taking a moment to consider everything. He looks up again eventually, nodding.]
You made a good call, Tim. Thank you.
no subject
I'm not sure everyone would agree, but they'll be happy to see you. Speaking of - we should get you out into the sun. I can get your comm, and... maybe some coffee?
no subject
With the rim of the chamber as a balance support for his hands, Clark slides to his feet and shifts tentatively, legs like Jell-o.]
Hup...This is going to take...getting used to all over again, seems like--
no subject
I thought about putting a sun lamp in, but it seemed a little over the top somehow. Do you think it's still the same, with your loss of invulnerability? Kon - [Oh right Kon showed up after Clark died... let's just. Let that sink in.] Conner doesn't have his x-ray vision here, but everything else is working okay.
no subject
He ponders the invulnerability thing for all but a second before Kon--
All attention now.]
Conner-? Here? [alive?]
no subject
Yeah, he's here. And he's alive at home, too. It took him long enough - I should let him explain it to you, since all I really know is that the Legion were involved.
[His smile turns amused for a second.]
It's funny, back there you were the one who told us he was alive. I guess this is just my chance to return the favour.
no subject
Well, Clark's smile is hard to suppress. Conner's alive.
Legion, huh? Well, there's another thing he owed them.]
Maybe I'll be the one owing you this, considering...[squinting a little.] Well, I haven't told you yet, in my memory. [stupid time continuity.]
Better make that coffee a double. [he wants to waste no time getting his bearings here.]
no subject
It still hasn't quite sunk in yet, for me - well, here it almost has, since I'm able to be around him a lot, but back home it's - a different situation.
[Maybe now is not the time to bring up the dating thing. It can wait until after the coffee. And the sun. And possibly a long time after that oh god heartbeat rising, control, control, breathing. Okay.]
Anyway. Double coffee, that I can do. [And since they're almost out, he just pauses to pull his cowl back up, with an apologetic glance.]
no subject
And no worries about that cowl. Totally a Batman thing--though he is curious about the upgrade to cowl. Perhaps another time, in less frozen states.
He already feels better just seeing the light from outside, let alone standing in it; he can breathe a little better, stand a little more secure. Better for Tim's shoulders, at least.
It's all unfamiliar, though.]
I'm not really sure I even want to ask how much has changed yet...[quirking a vague smirk for a moment, shaking his head. A moment more, and he pulls away from Tim with a little "Thank you" to stand on his own, craning his neck up. It's a winter sun, but all the same--]
no subject
I think it might be better if you didn't ask, it's... not all as good. [Pause. Smile.] Though Bart came back as well, that was - definitely a highlight.
[He runs back inside and comes back in a few seconds with Clark's communicator, carefully programming in Batman's new ID before handing it over.]
Here, you can talk to people while I get that coffee. Bruce especially would like to hear from you, I think.
no subject
...Ah, but this place. That's right. It tampered with powers. Not just him.
He took the comm gingerly, still gauging his strength. Even tired, he needed to take care.]
Take your time, then. [he gave a nod, glancing down at the device and slowly recalling the design and system.
Inhale, exhale.]
...Well. Now's as good a time as any.
