WHO: Dayspring Askani'son and Domino
WHERE: St. Jude's Hospital, the City
WHEN: After the announcement
WARNINGS: --
SUMMARY: Nathan Summers is now Dayspring Askani'son. Domino is now a pedophile
FORMAT: W/E

All of the X-Force members have left the hospital, leaving it a massive abandoned building like it was just a few months prior. Domino and Cable were the only living occupants after Tabitha blew out and they took up a few rooms at most. Cable didn't mind so much the peace and quiet. What he didn't like was the circumstances in which some of his teammates left, but he could not force anyone to change. He had learned that lesson before (and yet he kept on trying).

That night, he turned in early. Domino followed at whatever time she wished. They slept on a queen-sized mattress tossed on the floor of some room with an indistinguishable purpose. Their floor was littered with bottles, clothes and weapons. Typical married life.

He kept his comm by his side. When the Porter made her announcement and sent jolts through the system, he felt electricity through his body and then nothing. When Cable came to, he wasn't Cable anymore.

Dayspring sat up straight in bed, shocked out of his mind. One second, he had arrived at the fabled home of the Mother Askani with that cute telepathic girl. Now? He was...in a dark room?

Professor? Dayspring thought at loud, taking in his surroundings. It was dark. It was freezing. He did not recognize the architecture nor the feeling of the fabric against his skin and--a white skinned woman in foreign clothing. Um, professor?!

No call came. Dayspring concentrated harder and tried reaching out into the night, but all he could hear was the jumbled thoughts of people in the City thinking things he had no idea about: Who was Obama? Why did all the females (and some males) want to fornicate with Tony Stark? Why would someone need to make a decision between 'Pepsi' or 'Coke'? Were those tribes?

Dayspring closed his eyes tight. Opened them. Closed his eyes and rubbed them hard with his knuckles.

"Oath."

Their psychic connection was cut off, and it jolted her awake almost as quickly as he was up. Domino narrowed her eyes, getting off the bed and grabbing her closest gun. She aimed it at him, just in case.

"Nate?"

Now was this Nate, Nate Grey, or some fucked up evil version of him who she'd luckily get to kill?

Domino made such a face.

Such a face.

What the hell was she supposed to say to this kid?

"What's your name?"

She rolled her eyes. "Domino. Now it's your turn, kid."

Dayspring.

Okay. It was a start.

"You're in an alternate world."

[identity profile] luckpuns.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Alternate world. You're stuck here, but your world will stay the same--"

Domino sighed irritably, then let her gun fall at her side so she could facepalm with her other hand. "Nathan, honestly. With all the future bs stories you tell me, this---this is hard to believe?"

"There's a teleporter that brings people here from different worlds and timelines," Domino explained, finally looking at him again. Goddammit. He reminds her so much of Sam and Roberto right now. Goddammit. "And we're friends. Soldiers. We've worked together for a long time."

Hurgh.

"It's an AI," she continued. She was annoyed he'd read her mind, but of course, didn't allow any anger to enter her voice. "And yes, they are. But don't read my mind again."

She didn't like him being in her head. It was hard enough when he was actually Cable, but now? Not now. She didn't want him to see anything.

"Yes. I can," she pointed out. "I'm not a telepath, but I know when you're in there."

"You'll get back whenever the AI sends you back. Whatever is happening in your world will still happen, because when you return it will be to the exact second you left."

She hated this explanation. She hated this city. She hated that she has to deal with a sixteen year old Cable.
