Log: Birds of Prey... flock?
WHO: Donna Troy (
wondah) and Maggie Mui (
origamiguardian). And possibly Oracle? (
sibyllant)?
WHERE: Same house Tim got tortured in
WHEN: Late Thursday afternoon, after Tim is rescued and the scene is cleared
WARNINGS: None I can think of
SUMMARY: Oracle asks Wonder Girl and Paper Sister to investigate Tim and Dick's disappearance, but they are too late
FORMAT: Paragraph
Maggie flew by familiar to a few blocks away, landed in a quiet alley and ran the rest of the way to the location she had been assigned. She walked toward the designated spot, hands in pocket, like she was out for a walk, but she remained alert for signs of any trouble, as well as for her assigned partner.
She knew little about Miss Troy other than that her recipe for whoopie pies had been delicious, and thanks to her she had to try to disabuse her six-year-old roommate of a rather misconceived notion about what testicles were, but she imagined that neither of these facts would be of consequence in the matter at hand.
Tugging on her still shiny new Birds of Prey transmitter necklace, she approached the location from a sidestreet.

She'd come a bit early, but that was how Donna preferred things. Every now and then she'd circle a few blocks, and as she approached the designated location once again, she felt relief at seeing her partner. Things could finally start, now.

Used to being the support in these situations, she waited otherwise to follow Donna's lead.

The house they were to investigate had been about a block from the location they had set up to greet each other at. Donna gave her a smile, then swiftly turned on her heel, heading east.
"It is! Spring's having a slow arrival, but it's refreshing to see the life being breathed back into all of these trees."
She knew most people hated small talk. But she was really really good at it.

Once out of any public view, as they approached the house, Maggie gave Donna a look to stop and wait. She turned her hand over, and in it was a small stack of business cards. She lowered her hand, and the cards stretched into a tiny snake that squirmed under the door a moment and then quickly retracted itself under her sleeve. "Nothing behind the door," Maggie said, softly, through her teeth. If Oracle was listening in, she could probably hear it clearly. It should only otherwise have been just audible to Donna. "But they could be beyond it."

"Method of entry you prefer? To be honest, I'm partial to just breaking down that door, or at least putting a hole through it so I can open it from the inside."
She paused, looking over at her partner once again. "How firm can those cards get? Can you push in the lock from the crack between the door? Form a hand to open?"
The Amazon was a bit anxious to get to her Robins.

Cutting wasn't her specialty, but she could still provide the basics in that regard. She'd opened a jail cell door once (best not to tell her newfound teammates about that till she could explain in trust)--this was no problem.
