i think we should get together now
WHO: Scathach [
spadassin] and Lorna [
apocalypsewench].
WHERE: Some little cafe/coffee shop.
WHEN: Sunday afternoon.
WARNINGS: TBA.
SUMMARY: Scatty decides that today is a good day to actually meet Lorna and discuss... things. WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD COME UP.
FORMAT: Para to start, feel free to change!
A low sigh escaped Scathach's throat. This was something she had to do, something she needed to make clear. She did not think that Alex would leave her so quickly, or so easily, but there was still a twinge of jealousy every time he mentioned the other woman or spoke to her over the network. It was something she wasn't accustomed to, and she wasn't quite sure how to handle it.
Perhaps this had not been one of her brighter ideas.
The redhead's verdant eyes glanced away from her mug of tea every now and then up to the door of the bistro, and then back down. She was mulling over her options, trying to decide what the best course of action would be. She knew there was no way she would be able to completely keep Alex away from Lorna, no matter how much she wanted to--he was far too stubborn, and they had quite a history together. But she wanted to firmly establish that he was hers now, and that she did not plan on giving him up any time soon. In the old days, such a thing would be done on the battlefield, with a fight, perhaps to the death, the winner claiming Alex as their own.
However, such a thing would probably not be considered acceptable in the present times.

She stepped into the cafe, noticing Scathach right away. Lorna gave her a nod, ordered a cup of coffee and sat down with her.
"Hello."

Verdant eyes followed the other woman's path until she sat down, and then they rested on her face. She was pretty, there was no doubt--Scathach could see why Alex had been attracted to her. The redhead took a sip of her drink as the other woman spoke.
"Good afternoon, Lorna."
no subject
But not now.
"Lovely afteroon it is," she spoke.
THAT ICON
This was going nowhere fast, and Scathach had never been a very patient person. She forced her body to relax itself, for her muscles to loosen, her mind to settle. A flood of calm came over her, and she blinked once before speaking again, changed. Conversation was not very hard, she could manage it just as well as anything else. This was a meeting, nothing more.
"Alex has told me of your power--that to control metal. It seems as if it would be rather useful."
she actually showed a memory of her and alex having sex to alex's ex girlfriend...
Oh, back when she was still a real mutant. When Alex was still cuddly with the nurse, and her mind was still so unstable.
w-why
Not that there was much use for her particular talents in today's world, with their nuclear weapons and biological warfare. There was little need for brute force anymore, though she would never admit it to anyone.
because she was kind of messed up at the time and annie really grinded her gears
how terrible ):
"He certainly is. And I believe I fit that description quite well." She paused before adding: "And I'm sure you did as well."

"Alex tells me you've been together since December."
no subject
"We have. Though, he never told me how long the two of you were together." She wanted to say that until Lorna had appeared last week, he had hardly mentioned her at all--but that would have been just rude. The Warrior took a sip of her tea as she waited for a response--if she was to receive one.
no subject
She took another sip.
"We're best friends, along with ex-lovers."
no subject
But the knowledge that they were also close friends, well. That was something she could not condemn; though Scathach had had very few friends in her lifetime, she knew just how important they were. "Best friends," she repeated, drawing one finger around the rim of her mug. "I assume he'll end up confiding in you, then."
no subject

"His well-being--it is more important than whatever feelings I may have towards you. And I know there will be things he won't talk to me about," she said quietly. "It is--good to know that there is someone he will talk to." Everything inside her screamed to take it back, to leave this place and this woman, that this was an admission of something like defeat--but a smaller voice was telling her to stay, that this was rational. The smaller voice won, to her nature's distaste.
no subject
But there. She was glad to hear the woman admit something like that. Though Lorna didn't want to date Alex right at this second, she did want his friendship, and she did want him happy. She'd never stop talking to him, no, but none of this meant she liked that Alex had a girlfriend. It just...didn't feel right.
"He tends to think with his heart, not his mind."
no subject
"He is getting better at that," she said with perhaps a tint of pride to her voice. "I have been teaching him to better fight without his powers. There is not much room for thinking with anything but the mind in that."
no subject
Though, this woman had no idea what she was getting into, really. She had no idea of the things Alex would pull, or how he could act. Or anything at all, really.
no subject
"He's made great progress. I've taught him Capoeira."
no subject
"What else have you taught him?"
no subject
The redhead picked up the mug, flipped it over and set it on the table beside the small plate. She glanced down at the tea leaves, which had settled upon the plate. She did not believe in using such tricks to discern the future, but some old habits just wouldn't die.
no subject
Alex knew how to fight without his powers, so Lorna was getting a little annoyed that she was saying things like basic techniques. The guy had led teams, after all! Though he had his abilities, he still had fighting skills. What X-man wouldn't?
"So, I suppose you could say he's your student?"
It was hard to imagine Alex meditating. Lorna forced away a grin as she tried to picture it.
no subject
"Student, friend, lover," she replied casually. "One is never too old to learn, though." She smiled a bit wryly at that, and added, "I believe I am a living testament to that."

Well.
Lorna fought back the surprise she felt upon seeing that. So Alex's little girlfriend was a vampire? Interesting. Strange, too. Though, she better not have been nibbling dear Alex's neck, because the vampire look really wouldn't be a good one for a man who loved the beach.
"I assumed vampires couldn't be out in sunlight," she continued.
no subject
The Warrior rolled her eyes at that. "Assuming things is never a good idea," she replied. "Though I suppose it is half true--I sunburn rather easily." She recalled her encounter with Emplate, and how terrible the burn from his attacks had been. "There is a kernel of truth in every myth, you know."
