Leeron, get out of my LJ cut.
WHO: Renji and Lyra
WHERE: The park, away from the duelists.
WHEN: Monday, March 22
WARNING: More of Renji's epic fail... or not.
SUMMARY: Renji and Lyra spar, and Renji gets training for his potential deportation. if it comes at all.
FORMAT: Para to start, than whichever works best.
Renji needed a fight he could win. After losing to Hichigo in Shikai form, it was only a matter of time before his reputation as a fighter would go down the tubes. So what did he do? He called for training of course.
After contacting Lyra and setting up the time and place for a spar, he waited, watching as holographic images of weird monsters showed themselves in the distance.

She nodded politely to Renji.
"Are you ready, or is there anything you want to ask me about beforehand?" she said, preparing illusions in her head even as she spoke- not inserting them into Renji's perceptions yet, but it would take less than a heartbeat to do so.
"Oh and... Remember, I'm not that tough. So don't hit me too hard," she reminded him. She could still recall their initial encounter- that sword had been scary.

Charging at minimal strength, he brought the stick down on Lyra not hard enough to do any lasting damage, but still hard enough that he would at least get some enjoyment out of the fight.

He had known it was an illusion right away. Wooden swords can't slice through people. Everyone knew that. Still, the fact remained that the real Lyra was nowhere to be found.
Renji settled back into his ready stance, just in case she decided to attack.

Hopefully, she'd be able to get away before he grabbed her.

Lyra nodded, twisted her arm free, and then played a similar trick- vanishing and leaving an illusion in her place- except this time, the illusion was solid, and she made another, identical solid illusion of herself to her left.
"Hit us," both illusions spoke in unison, grinning rather cheerfully.

"Now," the illusions spoke in a strange, synchronized tone, "Can we try to hit you? Don't worry, we can't actually hurt you- we're illusions."

"Notice something?" she asked him.

"You have to do better than that," he said before knocking the illusion back with his stick.

Waving the illusions away, the copies vanished in the blink of an eye, as did the phantom injury on Renji.

She vanished for an instant, stepped to the side, then reappeared with four copies of herself, all of them solid, and one standing in the place where she'd vanished.
"Spot the real one," Said the copy farthest to the left.
