Rogue tried not to take too much time before meeting up with the fearless leader. She was already going through sensory overload... not exactly being in the best state of being when she arrived to begin with. She took a couple moments after meeting with Remy to collect herself and calm down... which thankfully didn't take too long. She was getting to be rather used to this kind of thing -- which she wasn't sure was a good or bad thing.

Finding Scott was simple enough, being the headmaster and all. Finding his office, the door was open. He mustn't have been there long. She walked to the doorway, knocking lightly on the siding. "Knock knock, Shugah." The southerner smiled slightly. He was a sight for sore eyes, that was for sure. Which was strange... since she had to have seen him a couple days ago.

Scott had just returned to his office after doing a walk through of one of the classes when Rogue knocked on the door. He had been glad to see her show up, even if their relationship during his time wasn't the best it had ever been. Still, she was an old friend and he was glad to see her.

"Rogue," he said, smiling as he stood up from behind the desk. "Thank you for coming to see me."

"Mostly I wanted to know when you come from," Scott said, gesturing for her to take a seat as he sat down in his chair.

"People are here from all different times and I'm trying to get an idea of where and when people are from," he explained. He especially had good news for her if she was from before he came from.

"Wow," Scott said, eyes widening just a tiny bit. That was from a ways back. The fact that it was such a major, major conflict at the time but was relegated to nothing more than a somewhat distant memory was a strange commentary on how the X-Men lived.

"That's from a bit before me. There's a lot of things you should know. First, there was an incident on Genosha. Sixteen million mutants were killed by Sentinels sent by Cassandra Nova."

"I know," he said softly, refusing to let himself be blase about the situation. It seemed like so much had happened since then, but those dead still deserved to have the horror of what happened to them respected.

"It was awful."

"We call it the Decimation," Scott said. He couldn't think of a more fitting name for it, because that's what it was, the decimation of the mutant species.

"Mutants all over the world, millions of them, lost their powers. There are only hundreds of us left, and only one new mutant birth since then and there was a lot of bad things surrounding that."

"The baby that was born, Cable said she's our savior," Scott continued, not quite sure how much he should tell her. There was a lot for her to know.

"Gambit, Sinister, and Mystique all kidnapped her. Sinister to do... what he does. Gambit and Mystique because they believed she could heal you from a... condition you had. Even if it meant you'd kill the baby when you touched it. Fortunately, you both survived, and the baby wiped your slate clean. All the psyches you had in your head from over the years were gone."

"Well, some of us consider Gambit and Mystique willing to risk you killing a child because it might help as 'harm done'," Scott said, only half trying to disguise the loathing he had for what the two did.

"But something else happened," he continued. "I don't know what, but in my time, you're not just cured of the memories but your abilities are under control. You can touch people without hurting them or absorbing anything."

"Rogue, you should know by now that nothing is impossible," he said, giving her a smile. He knew how long she had wanted something like that and also how long she had resigned herself to that not being possible.

"You can take and use powers at will without hurting others, also," he added. "And you're very good at using them."

"I'm sorry, but I'm not entirely sure how," Scott had to admit. If things were less hectic back home, he would have gotten to the bottom of it by now, but there were other things he had to take care of.

"All I know is that you, the Professor, and Danger, ahhh, Danger is the Danger Room, it became a sentient computer program, were in Australia and something happened there that helped you out."

[ooc: I couldn't find any instance of Scott learning exactly what happened, and I didn't feel comfortable just assuming he would.]

"That's about it, as far as I know," Scott said, not sure if he should bring up Selene and the zombies or not. Maybe he could save that for later.

"At least for now. If you've got some questions though, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them."
