Tournament Semi-finals!
WHO: Anyone and Everyone (Peanut gallery/audience threads welcome!)
WHERE: Times Square! Blocking traffic!
WHEN: Official tournament time: Friday afternoon
SUMMARY: After the preliminary rounds are done, 4 duelists remain. Time to narrow it down to two.
WARNINGS: Card games
FORMAT: Anything you want
This was not where Kaiba intended to stand during the semi-finals. He had planned to be a part of the battle and not on the sidelines watching. At least he wasn't standing among the rest of the crowd. He was running this tournament, so he had a raised platform from which he could see everything and run the event.
The preliminaries had been mostly out of the way, but the final rounds were in the middle of the city, right in times square. The duels had been decided by random draw, and now it was just a matter of waiting for the outcomes. An opening had been made in the middle of the square, with the audience circled around it. The duel monsters would be clearly viewed by everyone in attendance.
Like the start of the tournament the semi-finals were met with an amount of aplomb. The same large screen from before was showing exerts from the duels leading up to these matches...though any scenes from one particular duel were suspiciously absent. After the crowd had been sufficiently roused, fireworks shot up again announcing the beginning of the first duel.
(ooc: you know the drill by now! Duelists have been told their opponent about 5 minutes ahead of time, so they know who it is but didn't have time to specifically prepare for them. I need the winners by Friday at 9pm CST so I can get the finals post up. Brackets can be found here)

Juudai VS Rua

After a minute, he smiled, and placed the card into his Extra Deck, then slapped his deck into his Duel Disk. Either way, he'd just focus on having fun. He walked into the center and stood opposite Juudai with a huge grin on his face.
"You're Juudai, right?" He smiled. "What kinda deck are you using?"

"But both Yuugi-san and Kaiba-san were really strong too! I had a friend once who taught me about learning through dueling..." Rua said, recalling his duel with Yuusei before. "I think I learned a lot by dueling the two of them! And I had fun too, seeing their cards and stuff!"

He assumed a challenging stance, turning on his duel disk and letting the arm extend and click into position. "Alright, show me the power that defeated the legendary duelists! DUEL!!"

Dark Bakura vs. Aki
tl;dr, Dark Bakura won
and we all had a good laugh about how all his opponents have been lolis.
