(no subject)

WHO: Heero Yuy and Trowa Barton
WHERE: Somewhere in Northern India.
WHEN: March 28, sometime around late sunset
WARNINGS: None... yet? Depends, I guess?
SUMMARY: Heero's tracking down his friend, finally. And it's taken him a while to find him. Time to break the news about recent goings-on...
FORMAT: Flexible. Probably third-person, but idc.

If Heero had known Trowa would be this hard to successfully locate, he would have found a way to start much earlier. As it stood, though, he had little choice but to follow his latest lead and hope Trowa hadn't just run off. Again.

Once he managed to pin down the signal, he found himself on the bank of a river. The exact spot was near enough to an old bridge that there were plenty of places and shadows to hide in, but also just far enough away from any major traffic that most people wouldn't manage to wander near. Add this to the near-darkness of dusk, and really, it was perfect for someone who didn't want to be found.

He did not try to move stealthily or otherwise conceal his presence. He wanted Trowa to know he was nearby. If that meant Trowa would run again, so be it, Heero would continue his search. He simply hoped it wouldn't come to that.

On the contrary, Trowa was in fact trying to be found; running away again would be counterproductive to what he wanted. In any case, he'd already been away for a month or so, and others had apparently been willing to let him to stay that way up until recently.

Despite his personal desire to keep away from the life he'd had in the City, he knew he had to at least listen to what the other teenager had to say. Trowa still trusted Heero, although the Porter's having repeatedly pulled the other out of the City did make it rather difficult at times. If this was something able to force even his hand, then it was clearly important, and that was that.

Being reminded by a stranger that the answers he wanted couldn't be found just by taking off to distant places had certainly helped enforce the idea, too.

There was one thing the young man had always been grateful for, regarding his powers here in this world, and it was that he could take advantage of them to gain very heightened senses at will. It was because of this that he smelled Heero coming long before he saw him, and relaxed to some degree.

A moment spent reshaping himself into a more familiar form, and Trowa slid out of the shadows, staring at his friend with something that acted as though it might learn to resemble mild approval if allowed to carry on for another few hours.

"That was pretty fast."

if he IS all beat up, let me know and I'll adjust accordingly XD

"Wouldn't say much for me, then."

Trowa knew how to read the other fairly well; this was just about the reception he'd expected. Typical of Heero to deflect compliments, though. It amused him, up until he remembered that something serious was going on.

Putting that and other thoughts and feeling aside, he slid under the mask of a professional soldier once again before moving to approach the other. Trying to see if there were any visual clues that would give him the answer instead of having to ask it outright, Trowa narrowed his eyes and gave Heero a quick glance-over--but he didn't really see anything huge. No broken legs. No mass of head bandages. No missing arms.

No. He'd have to go the obvious way.

"Why now?"

He wasn't pleased with the feeling of Heero reporting to him; it made him think of himself as being in the leader's role--and while he was willing to take command of himself and direct his own actions as he saw fit, or as necessary to complete a mission, he did not generally like the idea of being placed in such a position. That spot belonged to 01 and 04 alternately.

But if one was missing, and the other was here, talking up to him like this...

He straightened up, stiff posture making clear all the concern his face did not show, and stared with no small degree of cold intensity at the dark blue eyes of one person he could trust to be truthful and blunt. Whatever had originally forced him to run away was forgotten, childish reasons swept away before the trained instincts that ordered him to take care of the unit he'd been so obviously neglecting up until that point.

Any other time, he might wonder how Duo would work everything into being a joke about lions and prides, but this wasn't the time for such small amusements.

"What happened?"
