WHO: Yoite & Open to the people in Awesome Base
WHERE: Awesome Base ~
WHEN: Late Thursday night/Early Friday Morning.
WARNINGS: N/A.
SUMMARY: Kittens and Yoite. Enough said.
FORMAT: Whatever goes.
[Kittens were not his favorite animals. Even if his name was the name of a cat Yukimi had once found. They were kind of cute though. Sort of.
Not as cute as dogs, but still. He could get used to them.
The teen was sitting crouched by one of the tiny things, looking at it as it looked back, and then he pulled one glove off, reaching down to pet it with one hand that was turning black from deterioration. Yoite couldn't even help it when he smiled a bit as the cat started purring softly. Of course the ninja was being careful though, listening in case someone would come by. He would be quick to hide then, but it was pretty late, so he was pretty sure the others were sleeping.]

Then again, it wasn't so effective with the kitten meowing at him and pawing at his legs, wanting more attention.]

Yoite? Is that you?
no subject
Stepping out of the shadows, he picked the kitten up so it'd settle down, and then he nodded.]
Yeah...
no subject
So you've met the kittens?
no subject
I have.
And he'll eventually meet Pokey's puppy with a snake for a tail
I... I know we can't keep them all, but I want to find good homes for 'em.

[Looks down at the furry little creature. He doesn't like cats much. But this one is cute.]

[Lyra is just... Highly unlikely to say no to much of what Yoite asks. And she was planning on keeping one of the kittens anyway.]

Still, he was thirsty, and he headed downstairs to get a drink. And was surprised by the kid he hadn't met before sitting at the table, playing with a kitten. He wasn't afraid, really; he'd actually done fairly well with kids in this universe. He hadn't met this one before though.
Clearing his throat a little, he asked in what he hoped was a conversational tone, "Hey kid. You a friend of some of the others here?"
no subject
In response to the question, he nodded his head.]
Yes. I live on the roof, too. [A quiet, short response, but he never did talk a lot.]
no subject
"Why the roof?" Pokey asked as he went and got his drink before sitting by the boy. God, he hoped he was actually doing okay conversing. "Don't think I've seen you before, either. I'm Pokey Minch, boy genius. Won't be staying here long, though."
no subject
[It was his only reason to live up there. He usually went back inside though, if it got too cold. And then he hid in a corner somewhere because that was just what he did. How he was.]
I recently arrived... I'm Yoite.
[He refrains from commenting on not staying long. He has a tendency to come and go as he likes after all.]
no subject
Pokey watched as Yoite petted the cat for a moment. Jeez, he was stretching to find a way to make conversation. He could hold up with Ness and Lyra, but it was harder with someone who talked so little. It made him want to behave the way he usually did, and he knew that was probably a bad idea.
"So...you like cats then?"
no subject
[Well, he would've preferred the church back home more, but that was in the past and neither here nor there, so he didn't dwell on it much.
He went quiet again as the other boy seemed to think about what to say.]
I like dogs more.
[He couldn't help but smile a little as the kitten looked up at him though, making a quiet purring sound.] But this cat isn't so bad.
no subject
He smiled broadly at Yoite's mention of liking dogs, however. "Really? Me too! In fact-" And with that, Pokey was off, practically running back up the stairs. He'd be back a few minutes later, huffing and puffing due to his chubbiness. A small, happy looking puppy was in his arms, and it barked amiably at Yoite as Pokey presented it towards the other boy. The puppy seemed adorable, if it wasn't for it's odd, green tail that seemed to coil and uncoil at will. ...Did a tongue just flick out of the tail?
"This is Dynamus Rex. I made him." Pokey stated proudly. "He's gonna be the house's guard dog. He'll be the best there ever is. Wanna pet him?"
no subject
He was a little surprised though, when the boy ran off and then arched an eyebrow when he returned with the puppy as the kitten in his arms hissed and jumped down from his arms, running off somewhere.]
He's cute...
[He tilted his head, not at all put off by the green tail. He had seen weirder things.]
Made him? ... And sure.

In his half-awake state, he's not likely to notice anything unless it makes a noise.]

Yoite is staying quiet though, but there's not a lot of hiding places so he sticks to the shadows where he most likely can't be seen.]
no subject
Hey, what are you doing awake, little guy?
no subject
The kitten runs over to the other boy though, rubbing against his legs and purring happily.]
no subject
[At any rate, he's just talking quietly to the kitten and giving it cuddles.]
no subject
He keeps watching for a moment, before tilting his head to the side.]
... It seems to like being scratched behind the ears.
no subject
You're pretty good with cats.
no subject
[Or perhaps dogs are better with him. Most seem to like him a lot.]
... But cats aren't too bad.
