WHO: [livejournal.com profile] violentsoftie and [livejournal.com profile] stfurameshi
WHERE: Kuwabara's apartment in the MAC
WHEN: today, 4/25
WARNINGS: Proooobably none.
SUMMARY: Hiei drops by Kuwabara's apartment. You know, to make sure he's all right after dealing with Riful harass him and stuff.
FORMAT: How bout some paragraphs.

It had been a week since their ill-fated battle with Riful, and Hiei had finally eased back into his usual patterns (interrupted as they were by Yusuke's absence. He was dealing.). And now that he had regained what little patience he usually possessed, it was time to go look after Kuwabara. Because no matter how strong the idiotic human grew, Hiei would always remain protective of him...and would go to absurd lengths just to hide the fact from the object of his grudging affection.

So he found a window in Kuwabara's apartment and let himself into it, landing silently and padding through the apartment in search of his prey friend.

Kuwabara woke up, maybe having the sudden presence in his apartment served to rouse him. What were extrasensory gifts for, after all?

He'd fallen asleep at his desk, he realized, and sat up with a little groan. The presence wasn't overtly threatening, but it was Hiei. Awesome. He didn't move just yet, sore and lethargic, but looked down at his school-work and rubbed his eyes.

"Geez. What do you want?" He called the question into the bulk of the apartment as his cat left his room in search of Hiei.

"Haha." He had half a mind to chuck a book at him. He had to have a good, heavy one around here somewhere.

In actuality, he just looked unamused and dulled and moved to try and stretch his legs out. Where had he even been in working when he's fallen asleep? Looking back over the page that had just be stuck to his cheek didn't yield any immediate answers. Oh, well.

He asked again, "Really. What?"

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-04-26 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, screw it. Kuwabara picked up a particularly thick book within reach and chucked it at the little demon. Annoying and insensitive was the kind of personality combo that was just asking for it. "Go pick off some thugs or something! I ain't in the mood!"

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-04-26 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
"It's Jack. I ain't Jack." Kuwabara just scowled. Really, he would have felt better about his book's safety if it had actually lobbed Hiei and fallen. Not that he found books to be prized possessions, but they were kind of pricey, and Hiei's holding one wasn't that comforting an image. "Besides, I think I've met my fun quota for the month."

"No," he responded sourly. "I'm fine." They did, after all, have the convenience of Yukina's healing abilities, and her company made him feel generally better about everything, aside. Pretty different from Hiei's generally unpleasant company. "I just skipped doing anything for nearly a week. I gotta catch up, you know!"

"Gibberish?" Kuwabara raised his eyebrows, turning his chair around so that he was facing Hiei. "It's English." A used history book, as it turned out, made for junior-high kids and so easier to comprehend than than textbooks for older students. "Didn't Kurama say you were gonna learn, too?"

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-04-26 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
He nodded in recognition of the fact. Oh, well. So much for getting something other than back come-backs and brutal moves into Hiei's little skull. "Just practice talking with people. It'd be useful to you, you know."

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-04-26 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
"If you don't bother to understand the local language... Who's really incompetent, I wonder!" He got a probably-less-than-boisterous laugh at of that. It was kind of a lame attempt, really.

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-04-27 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah. Always. It's always other people. That's... Great, Hiei." Kuwabara frowned and leaned back into his chair. He didn't know why this guy had decided to bust in on him. Geez. "That's some kind of attitude, you know it?!"

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-04-27 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
"There's plenty wrong with your attitude." This said matter-of-factly, with a bit of an indignant snort at the end. "You're stuck in the human world, interacting with humans, in a country that's not Japan. Refusing to learn anything is just bad manners!"

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh. Yeah." He stated as though that were the obvious answer. "Most of the people you run in to everyday are probably other imPorts, you know. Worse than being stuck here, they're stuck with you. Least you could do is learn the native language."

i let things get lost in my inbox. D: sorry.

"Never mind," Kuwabara grumbled, slouching more in his chair and crossing his arms. "Point of being courteous ain't 'cause you owe it to anybody. Goddamn." As he muttered this out, he turned back to his desk, picking up a pen and clicking the button at the top a couple of times. Where had he been...?

After a moment of silence (in which nothing was accomplished), he frowned and glanced over his shoulder. "Why are you here, again?"

and again. D:

"Wow, so you actually get a kick outta that." He snorted, pinching the bridge of his nose and flipping back a couple of pages in the book that was open on his desk. He wrote down an equation, looked over his shoulder at Hiei, and then grumbled again. "Here I thought you were just annoying and indifferent about it."

yaaay

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-05-16 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Uuuugh. Kuwabara was just going to try to ignore that and go on about his business. After all, he'd been sitting here minding his own business before Hiei decided to come and visit. All he wanted to do was think about his classes and not think about... Pretty much anything else, recent events included.

Too difficult. He'd gotten most of the way through the current math problem before he stopped and glanced over at Hiei once more. "I'm not your personal joke, you know. Go away. I'm busy."

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-05-16 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Kuwabara grumbled yet again and dropped his pen onto his desk, turning he chair around again and pushing away from the desk. He regarded Hiei with an agitated expression that faded into a more solemn, still-frowning face.

"I don't feel like dealing with you right now, alright? Go bother somebody else."

[identity profile] stfurameshi.livejournal.com 2010-05-16 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I dunno'." He rubbed a hand over his face. This was going to give him a headache. "Kurama."
