Who: BlackArachnia, Geddoe, Hiruma?, Josh Newmen, Miles Edgeworth, Remus Lupin
When: 28 April. While everything else ever is going on too.
Where: Riverdale, Bronx, The City.
Summary: Moony has a night on the town. Hiruma watches. A few of our heroes don't think this is a good idea and someone else get themselves into their own brand of trouble. Edgeworth also makes a surprise appearance at the end.
Warnings: Werewolves, lightning, swords, spiders, bats, and shenanigans.
Format: Para to start. Whatever works after that.
-
The door shuddered as he slammed against it with his shoulder and side, claws tearing at the wood, forcing splinters up into the rough paw pads. Falling back, he paced from one end to the other, eyes far too human constantly on the door, snarling as he left red prints across the concrete floor. Another short growl and the there was a dull crack and creak of metal and wood as it threatened to give.
He didn't want to be trapped, the smell of humans in the very walls of this place making him violent, forcing him to tear into himself to sate the hunger. Tired of biting and scratching himself in favor of those above. The metal hinges stretched under the force of his body and he scrambled, clawing and shoving to make them snap, to push the door open. There was a great, low groan and the hinges gave, the door thudding back and down into the grass, freeing him from his self-made prison.
All thoughts of the people above were forgotten as he stepped out into the moonlight, lean muscle moving beneath a layer of thick brown, almost red, and grey fur, the same color and texture as his hair. Large paws left prints in the dirt. Breaking free of the backyard was easier, a long leap over the too low fence as the Rhodesian Ridgeback watched - there was no reason to harm the too friendly canine - and he sniffed the air before disappearing back into the shadows as he ran.

Part the First: Moony and BlackArachnia

For the longest time she sat on one of the benches and stared up the at the clear night sky. As it got later she finally decided to head back to Autobase. Autobase. She snorted. That was a silly thing to call the apartment but it was fitting.
The femme decided to take the long way back. If she ran into any trouble along the way she could handle it.

He kept off the path, tracking her quietly as she walked down the path, keeping just out of the light whenever it was possible. It wouldn't be long.

After a moment she shook her head and continued her trek, however her senses were on high alert. If only she were still techno-organic. She could easily scan the area for any threat. Then again if she were still herself not much on this planet would be a threat to her.

The femme hit the ground with a long, threatening hiss. She scrambled to get away. To get back on her feet.

She also thought that perhaps she could poison it but she could discern where she'd hit flesh if she did attempt to bite.

And then she remembered she has webbing. She cursed her human form for panicking. She shot some webbing at the creature, aiming to seal it's mouth or tangle it's legs.

Shaking his head back and forth, he attempted to knock back into her, some of the webbing coming loose, but not nearly enough to free his jaw. Biting may have been out of the picture now, but killing was not.
Part the Second: Moony, Geddoe, and Josh

Those long legs and worn boots were used to hiking. Miles would go by before he even looked up to get his bearings sometimes. Geddoe was starting to explore further and further from his home base, and there were fewer vehicles to avoid at night. He liked the residential neighborhoods better anyway, where the houses were dark and quiet and the night air was filled with the scent of blossoming trees. And so he roamed, his good eye adjusting to the dim half-light that permeated the nights of this city.

When he was out and about he spotted what could only be another imPort. Large, muscled, carrying a sword, and dressed in armor from another time definitely screamed "Not from this universe or a got lost at the Ren Faire."
"Hey!" Josh called out, waving a hand to the other man as he checked the road before crossing over to the other side. "You're another imPort, right?"

"Just to introduce myself," he said. "I'm Josh Newman."

There was a bit of a pause, while his good eye narrowed. "It's late. Some particular reason you're out and about?"
no subject
"Just taking a look around. Hey, are you from a time where swords are typical weapons?" he asked.

"My world is like this one, only without all the people from other dimensions and stuff. Swords are considered outdated, mostly."

"But I don't know about well. I'm still learning, really."
Josh didn't add that with Clarent, sometimes that didn't make any difference and the sword did the work itself.

Somewhere a block or two over, a police siren whooped to break the otherwise quiet night. Unused to the sound, Geddoe jumped a bit, his hand tightening on the sword's hilt. But there was nothing immediately in their vicinity that looked or sounded like trouble, so he relaxed and cursed himself inwardly for startling like that.

When the siren sounded and the other man jumped a bit, Josh's hand automatically went to his sword, just in case. It was weird to think how is reflexes had changed in the last few months.
"But I have a really good teacher, she really knows what she's doing."

He took his time, moving carefully toward them until both came into view. Two and both with weapons, but he was hungry, still tired and dazed from whatever the woman had done when she touched him, and the risk of injury didn't dissuade him from growling low at them from beneath the safety of the low hanging branches of a tree.

The growl was a far more familiar sound, to a man who spent a good part of his life living off the land in survival situations. Rather than startle this time, his right hand went to Wild Geese's hilt and he whipped around sharply, squinting into the darkness. "There's something there," he said in a low, dangerous tone.

As soon as Josh heard the growl, he drew out Clarent and went into a defensive stance with a speed and fluidity that would have made Scathach proud.
"What the hell was that?" he asked.

He didn't notice much difference at the moment. It was dark, and he had but one eye. It looked very much like a wolf he was used to - a Shadow Dog, much larger and meaner than base mountain wolves. Geddoe didn't glance back at Josh but spoke over his shoulder. "Looks like you're going to get a chance to show me how you use that thing, after all."
no subject
"Maybe it escaped from the zoo or something like that."
/drops back into this log sorry guys
The growling stopped and it was the only warning either had before he dodged to take down the younger, aiming to knock his legs out from beneath him or to drag him down by his arm.
no worries
Josh sprung to his left and rolled, doing is best to keep his sword between him and the wolf. Even so, he might not be getting out of this uninjured.
hey, I was gone too

The charge came unexpectedly and Moony scrambled back and out of the way, the edge of the blade cutting a fine line across his snout. Blood welled up quickly, staining his teeth and mouth as he whined in pain, shaking his head furiously.
The boy was still close and brown eyes caught the light as he darted toward him again.

But it was time for a break. Flying was extremely energy dependent, and Hiruma needed to keep his vigor up to stay in the air. This time he alighted on a building in the Riverdale section of the Bronx and took an apple from the sachel at his side. He could (and did) eat the whole thing in one bite. But a human scream, a curious sound and a very strange smell assaulted his senses. He turned his ears like radar dishes, finding the source of the noise; the street below. A woman had barely managed to dive out of the way of... a wolf?
No, that wasn't just a wolf. A normal human would think so. But a bat? Could smell the difference. This wolf was not like Saitou's wolf form, natural and earthy in scent. This creature was somehow eldritch, eerie, unnatural.
He watched the wolf, then looked up at the sky. Full moon, of course. And with George gone... it could only be one person. A toothy smile spread across his maw and the bat took off after the wolf, keeping him within sight by running along the edges of the buildings and gliding from roof top to roof top. A little more observation... but it seemed like Ruffles would want to know about this little... mishap.
