WARNINGS: Sparkles in stereo. Angryfaces. CUTE LITTLE FLUFFY MICE???
SUMMARY: Hey Jomy so I've been staying with demonic high schoolers since I got here oh--look there's one of them he's totally friendly trust me i mean ok he mistakes windows for doors but...
FORMAT: No. But posting order Bloo/Babiesman/Shortypuff?

They teleported. It was easer to evade tracking that way; Matsuka, Mu though he was, was no Type Blue. The skill to trace something moving so suddenly was most likely beyond his abilities, and the fight was over. For now.

The whole thing left a deep knot of dread and worry in Soldier Blue's stomach. If there was any confusion at all about this situation, Keith Anyan wouldn't reveal it. He'd only reacted, accused, glared back at them with those dark, unrelenting eyes. There was no chance for reason. Blue himself had wanted only to flee--even going so far as to demand the retreat from Jonah. That young Mu...It bothered him so, that position he was in, but...At that time, in that place where a machine cackled quietly in the background...

That was behind them now. Before them was the quiet and unlit room Yusuke had graciously allowed Blue to stay in. He tried to swallow down his ever-growing worry--this was too close to their attacker--and focus. Calm, concentration...He would be alert to the world, not his own cares now.

"Here," he breathed moments after they arrived, lifting his hand from Jomy's shoulder. "There is another who stays here," Where he is right now, I don't know, he realized, scanning the empty living area. "He is a friend. We will be safe for the moment."

There was no other way to describe it--this place was nothing short of a nightmare. Since the moment he had arrived, Jomy's freedom had been taken by the same machine that controlled the world he had walked into--so many minds, so much anger--and the Soldier Blue he had known was no more. Left behind, perhaps, in a place the one standing next to him had not been allowed to reach, for now. The home he had been building with his own kind had been replaced by a decrepit, ancient version of what they believed to be Terra. He had been attacked--placed against another Mu, of all things. Seen the flashes of a hypothetical future, flashes of disaster and loss he hadn't even imagined. The face of an old friend was in the mind of the man that had tried to take Jomy's life with so much determined anger.

He wasn't tired--not in the physical sense; he didn't have the same limitations all other Mu had--but he was emotionally drained. Lost, anxious. Disillusioned. Everything seemed like a spiral testing and urging him to give up. Just when he thought that all would have been well...

Jomy's attention was brought back to reality when he felt Blue's hand lift. A soft blink prompted him to take a closer look at their surroundings, Rain still shivering on his shoulder, keeping questions and laments of this strange new terrifying place to itself.

His response to the other Type Blue was a simple mutter. "I see." He paused. "... They won't mind...?" The question felt as necessary as it felt absurd. What if they did mind? Would he just resort to wandering further until he came across whatever else this city threw at him?

Elsewhere in the apartment, a window opened and closed as Hiei let himself in. His timing was pure coincidence; he wasn't even specifically looking for Yusuke. In fact, his real aim became vividly clear (to Blue, at least, probably) as the sound of cabinets opening and closing filtered out of the kitchen.

It wasn't that Hiei was incapable of finding his own food...it was just that he found it more convenient to mooch off of Yusuke and Kurama. No doubt he would end up filching something fresh from the fridge that Yusuke had intended as a ramen ingredient.

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Jomy followed Blue a few steps behind--the expression on his face during those brief moments had both wariness and a silent plea ('please, not again'). He relaxed, only barely, eyes following Blue's gaze into the kitchen, quietly noticing the other figure. "Ah--" The pause showed some awkwardness, there was a slightly uncomfortable shift in his expression, like he wasn't sure it was the place or time to introduce himself. "Hello. I'm Jomy."

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Hiei turned to face the doorway, eyes flickering between Blue and Jomy suspiciously. It was simply a natural response to being suddenly cornered.

Still, he could sense the weary tension between them, so he spared a moment to actually answer Blue's question. Though his headband was in place--it almost always was, in the City, to make moving among humans easier--blue light pulsed from underneath it as he used his Jagan eye to seek out Yusuke's spirit energy.

"Out," he said after a moment, focusing his attention back on Blue. "Didn't he tell you where he was going?"

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Jomy stood quietly by Blue, eyes focusing alternatively between him and Hiei. There wasn't much he could say or real reason to interfere. Regardless, this pause was welcome.

Rain, on the other hand, shifted nervously on Jomy's shoulder, still very shaken by recent events. It focused on Hiei, unsure of what to make of the stranger, until it finally gathered the courage to mutter a telepathic question. "What are waiting for?" A pause; Jomy turned his head slightly to his companion. "Can we go home?"

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hiei transferred his attention to Jomy at his head movement--his presence in the apartment, coupled with his and Blue's general mood, was filling him with growing suspicion. But despite his attention to Jomy, his question was aimed at Blue.

"And how are things?" His voice was lower than usual, which was perhaps a warning in itself.

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
There was a shift in his expression, a very subtle hint in his eyes. 'It may take a long time.' Somehow long-term possibilities weren't something Jomy was prepared to face.

He simply nodded at Blue, a hand going up to his shoulder to brush a finger reassuringly on Rain's head. He could try to explain the situation--what little he could understand--but he knew it would only bring grief to the mouse.

"Blue..." He didn't feel it was correct to involve Hiei; Blue had made it clear that he was to be kept out of their ordeal. Words spoke into the other Soldier's mind. What now?

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's hardly an answer to my question." He spared Blue an irritated glare. He didn't understand Blue's obsession with turning his back on Yusuke's hospitality, and he didn't appreciate having information withheld from him when he explicitly expressed an interest in it.

Of course, Yusuke picked this moment to arrive. He slammed open the window, and hurled himself through it gracelessly. Puu was hovering just outside, peering in to the room and making soft noises. Yusuke didn't exactly register how full his apartment was until he stood back up and finished brushing off his jacket.

"You know, I gotta work on that entrance." He paused, looking around the rather full room. "Oh. Party at my place and no one tells me? That's cold, guys.

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Jomy's eyes followed, both wary and curious, unable to allow himself to relax despite Blue's reassurance. Both the Mu and the mouse couldn't help but let their gaze linger on Puu. Rain wiggled its tail; Jomy frowned slightly.

His attention returned to the newer arrival. He nodded, unsure. "Hello." A pause. "... I apologize for appearing uninvited."

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"They're up to something, of course," Hiei said to Yusuke.

Hiei's attitude when Yusuke was around was...only subtly different, really, but made it clear that he was following someone else's lead.
spiritgun: (This is my concerned face.)

[personal profile] spiritgun 2010-05-06 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"I was just kidding. Geez, everyone stop apologizing. The more the merrier." He stuck out a hand to Jomy. "Yusuke Urameshi."

As for being up to something, Yusuke wasn't wholly convinced of that. Hiei tended to err on the side of paranoia. Blue could have as many people from his world over as he wanted. Yusuke didn't mind.

"Up to what?" Yusuke sounded more amused than anything else.

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Jomy nodded softly, unable to shake off the worried expression. "It's nice to meet you."

He widened his eyes for a brief moment, unsure whether it had been noticed by the two residents, but quickly tried to collect himself. He didn't want to cause any alarm; it was Blue's place to speak. Despite that, he let his gaze lower to the floor, frowning and pressing his lips.

Where will we go?

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah, let me guess. It doesn't concern the Detective either."

Hiei's tone was blatantly mocking.
spiritgun: (Well fuck.)

[personal profile] spiritgun 2010-05-07 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Hiei." Yusuke glared at him for a split second, quietly promising to drop kick him. Not that it would really discourage Hiei from anything. It would probably only encourage him, come to think of it.

He looked back to Blue, crossing his arms stubbornly. The first instinct, as always, was to dig in his heels and insist Blue stay. Yusuke was strong enough to protect all of them. But if the rest of the MAC was in danger...

"You know you can always call me, right?" He said slowly, slight frown on his face. "If you need some fire power."

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Eyes were locked on Blue as he spoke; a constant and uneasy feeling lingering over his thoughts. He could only wait for the conversation to be over. It wasn't his place to step in on something he wasn't entirely certain of.

It was strange, however. Many years had passed since he had taken over the leadership that Soldier Blue exhibited...

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-13 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Hiei's eyes narrowed as Blue spoke. So it was an adversary from Blue's world that made him so uneasy--that explained his odd behavior, but it didn't satisfy Hiei.

"You'd be better protected here."

He knew Yusuke would never leave a friend undefended, after all.
spiritgun: (Puu.)

[personal profile] spiritgun 2010-05-13 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yusuke couldn't do much to stop Blue from leaving, apart from sitting on him until he surrendered. And tempting as that was, it was probably counterproductive. But just because Blue was leaving didn't exactly mean Yusuke was leaving him undefended. He still had Blue's back, in every sense of the term.

"The tiny demon is right, Blue. You and your friends can cram in here, if you want. I got plenty of room."

He realized he was starting to sound like a broken record on that point. But he may or may not be being listened to about it.

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-16 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Jomy was a little taken aback by Blue acceptance. He voiced his opinion with a thought to the older Mu instead of speaking it out loud - as much stress as this situation caused, he didn't want to be rude to those who offered to help.

Blue, are you sure?

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-16 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hiei, meanwhile, seemed to be done with Blue, Jomy, and Mu idiocy in general. He focused his attention on Yusuke instead.

"Who are you calling tiny?"
spiritgun: (Nice try.)

[personal profile] spiritgun 2010-05-16 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"You. Who else?"

Yusuke looked transparently pleased with Blue's verdict. He dropped down on the sofa, making a vague, all-encompassing gesture with his hand.

"You guys can just make yourselves at home."

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-19 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Jomy conceded after a beat. His eyes focused on Yusuke--he couldn't quite offer a smile, but the sense of gratefulness was still there. "Thank you, Yusuke."

With that, Rain suddenly jumped from his shoulder. A surprised movement from Jomy took place right before Rain made its way to the window, peering curiously at the giant bird outside. Who are you?, it asked.

"Rain-!"

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-19 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Watch your mouth," Hiei snapped at Yusuke. Insults in front of company? Only cool when Hiei did it, thanks much.

He was distracted by Rain's movement too, though. Was it a spirit beast as well?
spiritgun: (Clean out your ears child.)

Yusuke had been laughing at Hiei when the words appeared in his head, which startled him into silence, because that didn't feel right. When Blue had projected words into his mind, they'd been clear, meant for him. These words Who are you had a layer of something else between Yusuke's mind and them. It wasn't until Puu dipped his head gracefully in through the window to look at the mouse that Yusuke understood what had happened.

Puu and Yusuke didn't share conciousness, not in the traditional sense, but Puu was the expression of Yusuke's inner self. He was Yusuke, and they were tied up and tangled together in weird ways that Yusuke himself didn't understand. That he could hear things addressed to Puu didn't surprise him, not really.

"His name's Puu." Yusuke answered, only a trace of uncertainty in his voice. "He's my spirit beast."

[identity profile] soldieringshin.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Jomy walked over to Rain, picking him up. Not necessarily to take him away from Puu, since he'd let the two creatures continue to interact with one another through curious looks and sniffs. Fear of letting his friend get away did play a part in it, though. He'd already left it alone in the Porter room...

Arms wrapped around the mouse, he turned his head back to Yusuke. "Spirit beast?"

[identity profile] violentsoftie.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hiei knew he was doomed to be ignored by Yusuke, so he settled for watching Jomy suspiciously instead. He was an unknown factor, after all.
