SUMMARY: Sally and Lorna discuss Magneto and other things.

Sally was wandering around Central Park after her shift. She'd already dropped in on some locals she'd made friends with and delivered them food, so she was taking the moment to enjoy the spring weather. She didn't walk though, preferring to utilize her force field to help her skid along the sidewalk and across the grass as she pleased. Back home she wouldn't have dared doing this in the open anymore, but she felt safe enough to breeze by in the less traveled areas in the City.

Plus she really enjoyed the people watching.

"It was very nice," Lorna decided fondly. "Good people there. Even if they all tried to worship me...it was good. Had room to be better, but the people there were happy."

"They tried to worship you?" Sally grinned. "That had to be weird...the worshiping part. The rest of it sounds...it sounds like how it should be."

"I am Magneto's daughter, and he named me his heir," Lorna pointed out. "Magneto had very dedicated followers. I'm sure he still does."

"They probably are; he always had a way with words," Sally told her, and picked up a dandelion. "I always forget that your his daughter."

She blew and watched as the seeds sailed away. "Are your powers stronger than his?"

"It wasn't something that's been known for long. I've only recently found out myself," Lorna pointed out. "And, no. He's more powerful than me because he's more experienced. But I could be now."

Sally nodded. "I wonder what he would think of this place."

[apocalypsewench]

"He would dislike it," Lorna pointed out. "The humans around here...it's the beginning of hatred. He would try to change it."

"Do you think it'll get as bad as it is back home?" Sally shuddered.

[apocalypsewench]

"With time?" Lorna nodded. "Yes, I do. It's human nature."

[prettymorlock]

"I hope you're wrong." Sally sighed. "I know you aren't though."

[apocalypsewench]

"It's unfortunate, but with humans around, our kind will always suffer."

[prettymorlock]

"Lots of people give them reason to fear us here," Sally pointed out. "Look at what the Major did."

[apocalypsewench]

"And look what Hitler did," Lorna remarked. "Look what so many humans have done throughout history."

Genocide, anyone?

[prettymorlock]

"Do you not think we're human?"

[apocalypsewench]

"No. I don't consider us human," Lorna stated. "We are our own species."

[prettymorlock]

"Does it work that way though?" Sally asked. "My parents were human..."

[apocalypsewench]

"But you are a mutant. You have different DNA, different everything. There are people out there who would eradicate you just on that cause alone," Lorna pointed out. "Humans see you as a disease. There's no skin colour, or sexual preference that is worse than you. You're an animal to them, we all are."

A pause.

"Our genetics are superior."

[prettymorlock]

"Not all of them think that way," Sally pointed out. "My mom never thought of me as an animal. You've never known any decent humans?"

[apocalypsewench]

"Hardly," Lorna rolled her eyes. "I have no faith in humanity, no matter how much I used to cherish the dream of Charles Xavier. I don't see it anymore."

Sally frowned. "Is that why you don't live at the Institute?"

"I love the X-men, don't get me wrong. They are the only friends I have, and the only family I know. I have worked along side of them since Genosha, albeit more violently than is appreciated." Lorna looked off to the side. "But I don't live there for a lot of personal reasons, none of which have to deal with my views."

"Oh," she nods, not sure what to say to that. "And Magneto is with the X-men now in the future." Which was kind of weird.

lol that's when she was under the impression she WAS his kid back in her first appearance stuff

"That, I don't understand," Lorna said simply. "But I am not from their time, so I cannot pass judgments."

"I don't get it either," Sally shrugged, and picked up another dandelion. "Maybe it seemed better to work together since there are like hardly any mutants left?"

"It is ironic," Lorna mused as she glanced to the sky. "That my sister is the one responsible for that."
