Who: Kurt Wagner
in_likeflynn and James Bond
doubleoohbaby
Where:Somewhere... Out. On the town.
When: Evening of Sunday, May 9th
Warnings: James Bond?
Summary: Nightcrawler and James Bond are going to hang out. Bond is probably a more socially adventurous person than Kurt, but come on. It's 007. You can't pass that up.
Format: Paragraphs~ (to begin, at least)
Given the line of questioning that Bond had put upon him once they'd attempted to set up this meeting, about picking up women, Kurt wasn't sure what to think about the evening's possibilities. He'd seemed mostly a decent gentleman, however, and he was an adventuring sort of man. That was his own understanding, at least. Though... He wasn't sure how different movies and books with different writers and actors might translate into a real-life figure. That, in itself, was interesting!
In fact, he wondered how the same concept might apply to himself. Someone, at some point, had mentioned that they might be fictional in other places, and... It was easier to not consider it. Now was not the time, anyway.
Now was the time for waiting. He'd arrived where he'd arranged to meet the other fellow promptly, dressed nicely enough, and stood outside of the door casually, tail swaying and generally feeling cheerful. He had mentioned to Mr. Bond that he had a number of very unusual characteristics, but he couldn't remember if he'd actually been seen over the Network. Either way, he doubted he would be difficult to miss.

By the time Bond's near, there's little more than an interested eyebrow arch from him, adjusting the cuffs on his overly-expensive tailored suit before offering out a hand to shake towards the other. Bond's an equal opportunities kind of guy these days. A new Bond for a new era and all that. And he's already well aware this city brings in more than just your average looking human.
"Mr. Wagner, I take it? I hope I haven't kept you." Even his tone is light and welcoming.

He felt a little under-dressed, next to his new companion, without a very expensive-looking suit. He might have been the less dapper of the two gentlemen, having foregone a tie and, even less allowable, shoes. "Glad to meet you," he remarked, still with a smile. "I am attempting to take the opportunity, here in the City, to gain new acquaintances."

It's should be a good look for the both them, he assumes, as pairings go. Slick english gentleman and charming, german blue guy. They'll certainly turn some heads, which is the important thing. "Must get quite a bit of attention as it is with looks like those."

At the nod towards the door, he stepped forward and moved inside, holding the door open for James to grab while he attempted to quickly assess the place. When he'd gone out with Logan, he'd picked a bar with both a good, German beer and an 'Imports Welcome' sign, which, all in all, had been rather grand of him. Here... It was a nicer place. The couple of people who'd been curious to look up and see who'd entered were turning to tap their companion's shoulders, but with no malice. Fantastic!
Unfamiliar with the place, he again turned to Mr. Bond. "A seating preference?"
no subject
"Bar for now. Quick refills and better viewing spot," he answers, following Kurt in. James has done this sort of thing far too many times not to be an expert of arrangements, but he's always been the sort of man who can walk into a bar, pick out someone and have them in bed within the hour.

"I have little idea about what to drink," he confessed with a glance to the bottles stored behind the door. "I'm not typically much for liquor." He thought about it, grinned again, and shrugged. "Something plain will do, I suspect."
no subject
Alcohol has been mentioned and that's the most important thing right now. "Well, we'll go for something German first, shall we? Only fair," he decides as he waves down a nearby bartender, ignoring the fact Kurt has already stated he's not much for liquor while ordering two glasses of Jägermeister. Strong stuff.
"So where abouts in Germany are you originally from?" James sounds genuinely interested to know.
no subject
To the question, he grinned again. He did not mind recalling his home at all. "Bavaria. I grew up in a circus, so... Here and there in that state, but Bavaria nonetheless."

The easy pause in conversation even gives him just enough time to glance back over at that table of girls again, letting them catch his gaze, smile, then turn straight back to Kurt once more. "West Berlin, myself. Not exactly as British as most think." Yes, Kurt, technically Bond is a German. Blonde haired, blue eyed and all.

To continue conversation, he posed his own question. "I suppose that you did not stay long?" The fellow did seem, after all, largely of English bearing.
no subject
At least his origin explains to some extent why he's fluent in quite so many European languages, but it doesn't really seem to show why he's also perfectly English. Still, he needs no excuse for that.
"Were you still in Germany back home or had you exported yourself over to America?"
no subject
The next inquiry was also easy enough to answer. "I came to the U.S. when I was twenty. To join a mutant hero group, as it goes. I was still there when the machine brought me here."
no subject
James Bond didn't need mutant powers. He was a power unto himself back in his home world, not to mention his control over luck being a little too freakish at times.

Now that he thought about it, since he had finally come to know a world in which people were not ordinary, he could not easily remember the time in which he'd thought otherwise. Nor could he imagine a life in which there was nothing but human normalcy.
"You, however," he ventured to guess, "Are no stranger to elaborate villainous plots, are you? If I am correct in estimating."
no subject
"I try and save the 'villainous plots' to the action heroes, I'm afraid." Because Bond doesn't really see himself as one of those. Certainly not the 'hero' part.

"Incredibly silly, in fact," he agrees. "The heroes and villains are just as bad as each other in this place. If it isn't high moral standing speeches and red spandex and capes, it's expensive dining accompanied with long monologues about villainous plots." Which is an experience James has been through with one villain that he doesn't care to revisit.
no subject
"Villainous monologues, I could do without. Bad enough that such people can think so much about such things, but to wax poetic about it... Ach." He kept up a smile in spite of the topic, pausing to take another drink. "How people get to such a point is beyond me. It's like mean-spirited living kicked up to ridiculous. But... I suppose the heroes are not much different. Idealistic do-gooders, hm?"
no subject
There's a subtle jerk of his head towards a table just off behind them, "Speaking of heroes, there's more than a few import friendly ladies over there, if their constant stares are anything to go by, Hero."
no subject
He finished his drink, as well, flashing an easy smile. "I suppose it would be the most polite thing to go and say hello, hm?"
