bxlomrmlezq is totally a word

WHO: Angelo and Paige
WHERE: Paige and Monet's apartment
WHEN: Tuesday afternoon
WARNINGS: Cheating at board games is inevitable.
SUMMARY: Two members of Gen-X hang out in a third's apartment and reminisce about a fourth. Scrabble is involved.
FORMAT: Paragraph

Bag containing Chinese takeout boxes in one hand - because it was never too early before or too late after any meal time to indulge in bad fast food not actually prepared by anyone of the ethnicity it claimed to be - and a case of soda in another, Angelo punched in the number of Paige and Monet's apartment, though from what Paige had told him the latter wasn't at home. He waited for an answer; if she didn't buzz him up soon, her wontons weren't going to survive the trip to the front door.

Of course Paige let him in in a timely manner. Maybe because she had been camped out on the couch, trying to think of ways to make Monet NOT mad at her after booby trapping the whole apartment. The distraction was welcome.

"Hi," she greeted Angelo when she opened the door. "Come in!"

There would be no alcohol tonight!

"Very funny," she said dryly. "I don't think you would taste very good, anyway. Just sit down already."

This is what she needed. Normalcy.

... if fighting with Angelo seemed normal.

They had eaten enough Chinese food at school for Paige to be well aware of what it tasted like cold. It actually wasn't bad.

"Are you ready to lose at Scrabble?"
