Under Peruvian Skies...
WHO: Kiryu, Alastair, Saitou, & Bakura. + 1 NPC for all your tourguide needs :D
WHERE: Lima, Peru & nearby-ish touristy attractions most likely
WHEN: May 29-June 11? i guess?
WARNINGS: Well hopefully nothing drastic happens in Peru because I can't see the future but probably nothing.
SUMMARY: PERU TRIP. Visiting the Nazca lines & Cuzco maybe & just chilling. BECAUSE PERU IS THE BEST PLACE FOR THAT CLEARLY.
FORMAT: Imma start with prose, but we can do anything.
Peru. Finally. Kiryu had been thinking about visiting for a while, almost since his trip with Saitou to Japan last year. He'd been tempted to just schedule a flight straight from Tokyo to to Lima, but it was really only a fleeting fancy. He didn't need it enough to go then.
But the thought had remained, especially after his continued encounters with Cavil. He knew the 'Porter could bring people back to life; he'd experienced that little quirk of its abilities twice after all. But it didn't seem right. She wasn't one of his Gods. She especially wasn't Ccapac Apu. And none of them seemed to exist in this world anyway, much as he tried to ignore it.
Ccapac Apu wouldn't have let him think the things he'd been thinking. Even if he'd found a new being to hate, even if he hated that being more than he'd ever hated Yuusei, even if his hatred for the police and government continued to grow...he knew, when it came right down to it, that didn't matter. None of them were Signers. Yuusei was the one he was supposed to destroy, whether he still hated him or not.
And he really wasn't sure if he still hated Yuusei. He knew he did on some level; even just thinking about his old friend got his blood boiling. Yuusei had betrayed him. Yuusei had handed him over to Security and let his suffer. But Kiryu hadn't forgotten how he'd felt while his anger was gone. He certainly hadn't forgotten some of the thoughts he'd had about Yuusei over the last year--that maybe he was the one who was wrong, that maybe they could just forget everything and work together again. Same with Jack and Crow. Especially with Crow here now...
And if he was going to be really honest with himself, he'd only waited this long to plan this trip because of Yuusei. He wanted Yuusei here and he wanted to be around when Yuusei arrived. A part of him even wanted Yuusei to go to Peru with him. That damn Crimson Dragon had come from there too, after all.
But he wasn't going to wait anymore. He needed this trip. He needed to find his God, if He was there at all. He needed to decide...
He needed to decide whether he should keep believing in Him or not. If He wasn't in this world...
If He wasn't here to see how Kiryu wasn't failing him...
[ooc: So, I'm thinking different threads for different days/activities. You can start your own too, if you'd like. We're pretty much just being touristy with emphasis on older-than-Inca ruins. :D]

"It doesn't matter. I did find it anyway." He shrugged, looking like he really wasn't sure if he was okay with that or not. "I think...it was probably better I saw it now than a month from now. But I would've been happier not knowing."
He sneered again and tugged at his hair. "He's from the same stupid future as Crow, I think. Where we're friends again."

"Don't let it get to you, man. He's all the way up there, we're down here, you're gonna get to go see the Nazca lines and all that. It's what you've been wanting, right? So let's look forward to that and not worry about someone half a world away who might get ported back out before you get home. For all you know."

He shook his head and looked away from the window, but not quite at Alastair. "He's the reason I wanted to come here. Him and Cavil. And he'd better not be gone by the time I go back."

He wasn't very good at vague philosophies. But he was trying - he wanted to be supportive for his best friend, so he was making the effort to understand.

Except maybe having his friends back. Other than him still feeling pissed off toward all of them, that didn't sound too bad. He just wasn't sure what to do now that he knew he felt that way.
"...How did you stop hating...Kaiba, right? What happened?"
it's beautiful~
He sighed, reaching back into his memory for the exact moment. Two years - no, three, now - hadn't dulled the acute feelings any. "Through the whole duel we kept arguing. He kept telling me I was wrong, in that oh-so-charming blunt way of his, but I didn't listen. It wasn't until...well. He had me cornered. The plane was going down and I was running out of ways to stop him, so I decided just to let it crash. The instant we died, the Seal would take both our souls, which would have fulfilled the plan. Of course, his little brother would have died too, and he kinda took exception to that.
"He essentially asked for the chance to save his brother, and I gave it to him. I ended my turn, he wiped me out in the next one, so the Seal released him and he could go stop the plane from crashing."
Alastair paused for a while, standing there staring at the floor. It had been a long time since he told someone the whole story. "As for the actual hating his guts, though...that sort of died last fall when he told me what Dartz told him. That it wasn't Gozaburo Kaiba who supplied the weapons to the Serbs who killed my family - it was Dartz himself." He lifted his head and blinked at the ceiling. "Kinda not fair to hate a guy for something he was framed for doing by the man I thought was my savior..."
lkajdsjsh THEY'RE SO MUCH ALIKE
Although he couldn't help but make a face at the rest. There was where the similarity ended. Yuusei was the one responsible for everything; he'd seen it. He couldn't understand why, but there was no mistaking what had happened.
"So...you don't really have to forgive someone. Just...shift the hate...?" Which was what he'd been thinking of doing anyway.
isn't it amazing? XD

He shook his head and leaned back against the window-sill, staring up at the gray sky. "I want him around. I'm glad he's here. Sort of. An explanation. I guess that's what I want."

He sighed and tugged at his hair again. "Sorry. I know I'm not the best company right now."

"Going out sounds fun," Kiryu said, smirking back up at him. "I don't want to be doing historical stuff all the time. It's your vacation too."
