Under Peruvian Skies...
WHO: Kiryu, Alastair, Saitou, & Bakura. + 1 NPC for all your tourguide needs :D
WHERE: Lima, Peru & nearby-ish touristy attractions most likely
WHEN: May 29-June 11? i guess?
WARNINGS: Well hopefully nothing drastic happens in Peru because I can't see the future but probably nothing.
SUMMARY: PERU TRIP. Visiting the Nazca lines & Cuzco maybe & just chilling. BECAUSE PERU IS THE BEST PLACE FOR THAT CLEARLY.
FORMAT: Imma start with prose, but we can do anything.
Peru. Finally. Kiryu had been thinking about visiting for a while, almost since his trip with Saitou to Japan last year. He'd been tempted to just schedule a flight straight from Tokyo to to Lima, but it was really only a fleeting fancy. He didn't need it enough to go then.
But the thought had remained, especially after his continued encounters with Cavil. He knew the 'Porter could bring people back to life; he'd experienced that little quirk of its abilities twice after all. But it didn't seem right. She wasn't one of his Gods. She especially wasn't Ccapac Apu. And none of them seemed to exist in this world anyway, much as he tried to ignore it.
Ccapac Apu wouldn't have let him think the things he'd been thinking. Even if he'd found a new being to hate, even if he hated that being more than he'd ever hated Yuusei, even if his hatred for the police and government continued to grow...he knew, when it came right down to it, that didn't matter. None of them were Signers. Yuusei was the one he was supposed to destroy, whether he still hated him or not.
And he really wasn't sure if he still hated Yuusei. He knew he did on some level; even just thinking about his old friend got his blood boiling. Yuusei had betrayed him. Yuusei had handed him over to Security and let his suffer. But Kiryu hadn't forgotten how he'd felt while his anger was gone. He certainly hadn't forgotten some of the thoughts he'd had about Yuusei over the last year--that maybe he was the one who was wrong, that maybe they could just forget everything and work together again. Same with Jack and Crow. Especially with Crow here now...
And if he was going to be really honest with himself, he'd only waited this long to plan this trip because of Yuusei. He wanted Yuusei here and he wanted to be around when Yuusei arrived. A part of him even wanted Yuusei to go to Peru with him. That damn Crimson Dragon had come from there too, after all.
But he wasn't going to wait anymore. He needed this trip. He needed to find his God, if He was there at all. He needed to decide...
He needed to decide whether he should keep believing in Him or not. If He wasn't in this world...
If He wasn't here to see how Kiryu wasn't failing him...
[ooc: So, I'm thinking different threads for different days/activities. You can start your own too, if you'd like. We're pretty much just being touristy with emphasis on older-than-Inca ruins. :D]

ARRIVAL
He couldn't keep the grin off his face, and he was definitely in better spirits than he had been anytime recently. Finally, off that damn plane and here in Peru. As tired as he was, he couldn't wait to start sight-seeing. The Nazca lines were so close...
But that could wait a couple days. There was stuff to see right around here too.
taggin in~!
Stupid Porter.
He had his long coat and sunglasses on, standing taller than many of the people swirling around them in the airport with one hand on the handle of his luggage. "Well. Here we are, I guess."
I'm not late, I'm on time! :D
He stayed close to Alastair, not at all wanting to get lost in the swell of people. Belatedly, he reflected that he really should have worked on his Spanish. What little he had learned from his father's coworkers had been limited to the very basics, some funny phrases and the usual curse words he would never use.
NAZCA LINES! there's also a planetarium. :D
But he'd hardly slept, even though he'd slept better the past few nights here in Peru than almost the entire last year. And he kept grabbing at his mark, probably out of nerves. But he knew what they were going to see; he'd looked at a million pictures. Being this nervous was ridiculous.
It didn't stop him from being the first one up and ready to head out, though.
OTL I am such an idiotic person I've had company over all day and forgot this ><; /hits self forever
He wasn't positive yet how to respond to it, though, or even mention it aloud. Because this wasn't familiar territory to him like Japan had been, and this was Kiryu's home more than it would ever be for him. He still didn't bode well to the idea of flying even for necessity, but this trip was mostly for humoring whatever reasons Kiryu needed to be here. And in all honesty they were probably safer here than they ever would be at home.
He had to shake his head with a light smile at Kiryu's rushing off, however. Predictable as always. Didn't stop him from following, though.
/luffs anyway
*slides in down here now*
It wasn't until spotting Alastair that he belatedly realized that sunglasses would probably be helpful as well. Maybe he'd get some at a souvenir shop...
ilu Ay <3
Well.
He was pretty sure Saitou knew something was up with all his secrecy regarding the Decepticons, but not what. not that it would matter for much longer anyway. Kiryu had been thinking about mentioning that for a couple months now.
"It's a couple blocks down," Kiryu said, glancing at Alastair. And then at Bakura and that hat. He hadn't gotten over that yet. "I tried to get a hotel close to it."
He rubbed absently at his arm before finally stuffing his hand into a pocket to keep from doing that. "Becky said she's going to stay behind, since we don't need her to translate."
[ooc: Becky would be his NPC contact /o\]

June 2 (probably before the above thread, idk, the timing was just perfect /o\ feel free to ignore)
A year ago, he'd been dead. Not like he'd been at home, but really, truly dead. And he'd come back without the help of his God or the others. It didn't sit right with him then, after the second time he'd died, or now. It was why he was here, really.
But he hadn't really wanted to be reminded of it either.
And then he'd decided to go looking through the network to see if the "war" had progressed any further. Not that he'd be going back no matter what happened, not yet, but he was curious. He hated the feeling that he was running away, even though he wasn't.
Yuusei was here.
Fianlly, finally, after almost a year of waiting, Yuusei had been dragged back here again.
Kiryu really didn't know how to feel about that. On one hand, he'd missed Yuusei, because a small part of him had always missed his team and he'd been having those occational thoughts of just giving in and asking to be his friend again. On the other, he was both glad Yuusei was back so he could finally beat him into the ground and furious because Yuusei always pissed him off just by being around.
And he really didn't know anymore if he even wanted Yuusei to suffer. He wanted his revenge, sure, but he didn't want Yuusei dead and he...he might have been wrong anyway.
And he hated Cavil far, far more than he'd ever hated Yuusei.
But this was why he'd come here to Peru. To figure these things out in peace. Or to find Ccapac Apu so he could know once and for all which would be the right way to go.
He spent some time yelling at and mocking Yuusei, but that didn't last. So he settled next to a window to spend some time watching the street down below. Maybe some sort of revelation would just hit him...
no way man you are awesome
He found his friend people-watching and slunk up from the side. "Hey. What'cha doing?"
^^; it just needed to be here
"Thinking." He smiled a little, adding, "Like usual lately."

... And it was expected. Saitou sighed through his nose before waiting a little while, then searching for wherever Kiryu had run off to. It was fairly easy to spot someone with his hair color, at least. For now he just stood a few feet away, hand on his hip as if waiting for whatever state Kiryu was currently in.
"So."
ILU and Kiryu loves you yay <3

June 9/10 blah blah LA was bombed blah
And he certainly didn't want to hear or see all of the stupid chatter about how horrible it was and how could they or why didn't they do more earlier, that was exactly what needed to be done.
Fuck them. Fuck all of them.
And Alastair probably already knew, but damn, he was going to keep his mouth shut about this.
[ooc: also, a plane disappeared after flying over Nazca later that morning. hngh /o\]
