Under Peruvian Skies...

WHO: Kiryu, Alastair, Saitou, & Bakura. + 1 NPC for all your tourguide needs :D
WHERE: Lima, Peru & nearby-ish touristy attractions most likely
WHEN: May 29-June 11? i guess?
WARNINGS: Well hopefully nothing drastic happens in Peru because I can't see the future but probably nothing.
SUMMARY: PERU TRIP.  Visiting the Nazca lines & Cuzco maybe & just chilling. BECAUSE PERU IS THE BEST PLACE FOR THAT CLEARLY.
FORMAT: Imma start with prose, but we can do anything.

Peru.  Finally.  Kiryu had been thinking about visiting for a while, almost since his trip with Saitou to Japan last year.  He'd been tempted to just schedule a flight straight from Tokyo to to Lima, but it was really only a fleeting fancy.  He didn't need it enough to go then.

But the thought had remained, especially after his continued encounters with Cavil.  He knew the 'Porter could bring people back to life; he'd experienced that little quirk of its abilities twice after all.  But it didn't seem right.  She wasn't one of his Gods.  She especially wasn't Ccapac Apu.  And none of them seemed to exist in this world anyway, much as he tried to ignore it.

Ccapac Apu wouldn't have let him think the things he'd been thinking.  Even if he'd found a new being to hate, even if he hated that being more than he'd ever hated Yuusei, even if his hatred for the police and government continued to grow...he knew, when it came right down to it, that didn't matter.  None of them were Signers.  Yuusei was the one he was supposed to destroy, whether he still hated him or not.

And he really wasn't sure if he still hated Yuusei.  He knew he did on some level; even just thinking about his old friend got his blood boiling.  Yuusei had betrayed him.  Yuusei had handed him over to Security and let his suffer.  But Kiryu hadn't forgotten how he'd felt while his anger was gone. He certainly hadn't forgotten some of the thoughts he'd had about Yuusei over the last year--that maybe he was the one who was wrong, that maybe they could just forget everything and work together again.  Same with Jack and Crow.  Especially with Crow here now...

And if he was going to be really honest with himself, he'd only waited this long to plan this trip because of Yuusei.  He wanted Yuusei here and he wanted to be around when Yuusei arrived.  A part of him even wanted Yuusei to go to Peru with him.  That damn Crimson Dragon had come from there too, after all.

But he wasn't going to wait anymore.  He needed this trip.  He needed to find his God, if He was there at all.  He needed to decide...

He needed to decide whether he should keep believing in Him or not.  If He wasn't in this world...

If He wasn't here to see how Kiryu wasn't failing him...

[ooc: So, I'm thinking different threads for different days/activities.  You can start your own too, if you'd like.  We're pretty much just being touristy with emphasis on older-than-Inca ruins. :D]

Alastair had checked the comm first, and saw it first, but didn't say anything to Kiryu. He had more of an inkling about this trip than he let on, and hearing Yuusei's voice again was a cue that maybe he shouldn't interfere. But after Kiryu found it himself and responded, well...all bets were off then.

He found his friend people-watching and slunk up from the side. "Hey. What'cha doing?"

"Yeah, you've been thinking a lot." Lame, but it had to be said. Alastair leaned on the wall next to him and tucked his hands in his pockets. "Everything okay?"
hackeralastair: (grr fine)

[personal profile] hackeralastair 2010-06-06 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah." So that was it, Alastair had a feeling it was related. "I didn't want to ruin your mood or anything, so I didn't tell you. I figured you'd find out sooner or later when you decided to pick up your comm again. Sorry," he added belatedly. "If that wasn't the right decision."
hackeralastair: (taken aback)

[personal profile] hackeralastair 2010-06-06 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Wait, what?" Having not spoken much, if at all, with Crow, Alastair didn't know about this. "Friends again? How the hell does that work? No, nevermind, it's not my business and it doesn't matter." He shook his head; divergent timelines and distant futures were too much to cope with, he tended to ignore them and let them be.

"Don't let it get to you, man. He's all the way up there, we're down here, you're gonna get to go see the Nazca lines and all that. It's what you've been wanting, right? So let's look forward to that and not worry about someone half a world away who might get ported back out before you get home. For all you know."
hackeralastair: (blankly talking)

[personal profile] hackeralastair 2010-06-06 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"...yeah, okay. Hopefully he won't be, if that's what you want." Alastair really couldn't keep up with Kiryu's swings of opinion on Yuusei. It was complicated, and that was enough for him to know. "The future's not set in stone, anyway. Bakura and I are proof of that. All it takes is one little thing being different, and the future goes in different directions. You never really know."

He wasn't very good at vague philosophies. But he was trying - he wanted to be supportive for his best friend, so he was making the effort to understand.
hackeralastair: (determination)

it's beautiful~

[personal profile] hackeralastair 2010-06-07 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Alastair bit back a sardonic laugh. "What makes you think I have? All right, fine, maybe I don't hate him...he's an asshole and the stupid bastard deleted my bookmarks in our last hacking war, but..."

He sighed, reaching back into his memory for the exact moment. Two years - no, three, now - hadn't dulled the acute feelings any. "Through the whole duel we kept arguing. He kept telling me I was wrong, in that oh-so-charming blunt way of his, but I didn't listen. It wasn't until...well. He had me cornered. The plane was going down and I was running out of ways to stop him, so I decided just to let it crash. The instant we died, the Seal would take both our souls, which would have fulfilled the plan. Of course, his little brother would have died too, and he kinda took exception to that.

"He essentially asked for the chance to save his brother, and I gave it to him. I ended my turn, he wiped me out in the next one, so the Seal released him and he could go stop the plane from crashing."

Alastair paused for a while, standing there staring at the floor. It had been a long time since he told someone the whole story. "As for the actual hating his guts, though...that sort of died last fall when he told me what Dartz told him. That it wasn't Gozaburo Kaiba who supplied the weapons to the Serbs who killed my family - it was Dartz himself." He lifted his head and blinked at the ceiling. "Kinda not fair to hate a guy for something he was framed for doing by the man I thought was my savior..."
hackeralastair: (srsface)

isn't it amazing? XD

[personal profile] hackeralastair 2010-06-11 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I guess...yeah." Alastair shrugged a bit. "But from what you told me...it's not like Yuusei was framed for something he didn't do. I don't see why you have to forgive him. I mean, unless he goes and does something nice like, I don't know, try to atone for it. If that's possible." He made a face, more at the situation than anything else. "I don't know what you want from him. An explanation, an apology, just to get out of your face and stop reminding you of shit..."

He'd refrained from saying anything, at first. This Yuusei wouldn't know him, anyway, and Saitou thought it little use to introduce himself when he was currently in a different continent. So he'd simply watched the responses and waited for the one he knew would show up eventually.

... And it was expected. Saitou sighed through his nose before waiting a little while, then searching for wherever Kiryu had run off to. It was fairly easy to spot someone with his hair color, at least. For now he just stood a few feet away, hand on his hip as if waiting for whatever state Kiryu was currently in.

"So."

\o/ oh and I like the new icon :>

[personal profile] wolfofmibu 2010-06-06 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. Looks like he hadn't quite figured his reason for being here, yet. Saitou wasn't really one for taking his time revealing something, anyway. "I'm sure you saw who ported back today."
wolfofmibu: (hmm...)

[personal profile] wolfofmibu 2010-06-08 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
That bitterness didn't surprise him, but it wasn't settling to see nonetheless. And although he had interfered before, when Kiryu had gone after Yuusei, he wasn't certain if that was the right action to take this time. This wasn't his concern; not really. Although the original reason Saitou had stayed with Kiryu this long was to make sure he didn't cause too much destruction. Yuusei was definitely a trigger for one of those episodes. He couldn't have that happen again.

"We won't be here forever."

Saitou simply observed Kiryu's actions and narrowed his eyes only a second when seeing that anger almost surface again. He honestly hadn't intended to evoke Kiryu's temper on a vacation of all things; then again he didn't like Kiryu being angry whatsoever, no matter the occasion. He wasn't always in control, then, and Saitou would rather Kiryu be in control of his emotions at all times. Otherwise things became difficult.

"Knowing him and his personality, he'll wait for you."
wolfofmibu: (troublesome)

XD oh well we're not being graded /pats

His body stiffened at the mention of 'that bastard,' knowing far too well who Kiryu meant by it. Rage boiled up in his system for a split second before he shoved it back down. Now was not the time nor place. And it would only amuse Cavil even more to find so many months after the incident that it still bothered him. So that feeling of blind fury buries itself down deep where it's supposed to stay.

However Saitou couldn't really say he had that immediate feeling of blind fury when he thought of anyone from home. The Battousai, of course, is the first candidate in his head, but Saitou couldn't really hate him. Himura annoyed him, yes, as had Usui, but Saitou was better than that.

He had been better than this, so much better, before this City and before he was ripped from his home and his morals and his time where he should be at this very moment. He hated this City more than anyone he could think of. He hated this era and the horrors that Japan would face in his future. He hated the idea of swords being done away with completely. No one cared anymore about bushido or honor or ideals like Aku Soku Zan. And that was what he would always hate the most.

However Saitou was certain that his silence was probably bothering Kiryu by now, and merely shook his head. His face was readable enough, as it is.
