SUMMARY: Bakura somehow gained bunny ears and a tail. And is doing his damnedest to hide them

It was going to be a full day for Bakura, showing Momiji around the shop to help him pick a job onto of his usual routine and chores.

He wasn't expecting to grow bunny ears. Really, he had no reason to.

The first hint that there was something wrong was Bakura attempting to wear a hat. A fedora, to be specific. The one he had gotten for the Peru trip that had looked pretty ridiculous there, but in the City in winter, especially when it just didn't want to stay on his head, looked positively idiotic.

If he could just keep the hat ON until he reached the office....

As he'd promised, Momiji has rose early in order to get to the store before there was a rush. Checking the address on the card Bakura had given him, he reached the shop in record time, grinning when he saw Bakura nearby. "Hey, hey!"

"Aa-- Momiji-kun!" Bakura waved awkwardly, keeping one hand on his hair to keep it in place.

Oh Porter. You couldn't have had better timing. Really.

"Come on upstairs to the office!"

Momiji gave Bakura a slightly amused look, but followed obediently. "That's a nice hat." To his credit he actually meant it quite sincerely, Momiji himself had almost as many hats back home as he had bunny toys.

Bakura ducked his head a little, still holding the hat on. "Aaa- you think so? My father had one like it!"

His brothers also teased him endlessly for it. Kiryuu must have knocked it off his head 20 times in one day!

"Yeah, I do." He laughed. "It's cute!"

"It's really cold out today, so I can see why you'd wear one." He continued.

"Aaa-- I don't normally. They don't stay on very well," Bakura pointed out, pushing open the door to the backroom before heading for the stairs to the offices.

"Maybe you just need a bigger one." Momiji reasoned, bounding after him.

"You think so?" Bakura mused, freehand reaching for his keys. He wasn't expecting Matsuka to be in already, after all. "It'd have t be pretty big!"

"Yeah. Not that much bigger, you'd just have to push your hair down a bit." He gives Bakura a critical look, thinking about hat selection. Fashion was very serious business to him.

"That might be a bit of a problem! It really doesn't stay down well at all," Bakura admitted.

Oh Momiji. If you're fashion conscious, stay away from Bakura's wardrobe. It's baaad.

"You could use some pins or clips." Momiji said, looking around as Bakura messed with the keys. "You've got a really nice store."

He'll take care of the wardrobe. And try to replace it with pastels.

As far as Bakura was concerned, pins and clips would make his hair look even girlier. "Thanks! Glad you like it!" he grinned, holding the office door open for his friend.

It was a rather tidy office, three desks, a coffee maker and a electric kettle near a sink towards the back, with a large window over looking the street.

Considering that Momiji wore strictly girl's clothes until a few moths ago, he would not know how that would be a problem.

He walked into he room, taking it in for a moment. He stood in front of one of the desks, hands clasped behind his back and eyes on Bakura. "So, um, do I need to fill out paper work or anything?"

"Aaa-- I thought maybe I'd give you the tour first, so you'd have some sort of idea, the paperwork can wait!" Bakura explained, going to hang up his coat.

In the process, the hat slid off his head the a pair of white rabbit ears that it had been hiding sprung up.

...

Stupid hat.

"Hmm. Okay that sounds fine." Momiji agreed, eyes on the window. He turned while still talking, "After yo-"

Bunny ears? Really? For the barest second he wondered if this was supposed to be a joke, before realizing Bakura had no idea about his other form. So instead, he elected for a puzzled look, some pointing, and stating the obvious. "You've got bunny ears."

There was an awkward pause before Bakura rubbed at his cheek. "Aaa-- un. I woke up with them..." he admitted before going to sit down. He had to shift a bit, looking a bit uncomfortable before giving up and getting up again. See that odd lump in the back of his pants like he's tucked his shirt in funny? Guess what that's hiding!

"You remember how I said the Porter will sometimes do strange things? Like when I was a bat for a few days?"

"You're turning into a rabbit!" Momiji was unsure of what the proper reaction was in this situation. It was a normal enough occurrence where he was from, but most people would freak out. It didn't help that his first thoughts were zeroed in on the fact it was bunny related and cute.

"So the Porter's making people animals again?" He guessed, tip toeing closer for a better look.

Bakura gave a sigh, shoulders slumping a little. "I hope it isn't..." He nervously poked at one of his new ears, a little uncomfortable at how much they suck out. At least they matched his hair...

"I don't think I'd like a slow progression! Just something like this...." Well, he wasn't happy with it (why couldn't he have gotten wings back anyway?) But he could deal.

"Like something out of a manga, almost," he half mumbled thinking of all the moe art in shonen ai manga.

...not that he ~~would admit that he~~read anything like that, of course!

But it really made him glad he wasn't taking university classes right then. He would be too afraid of the girls!

Momiji continued his staring spree. He was half tempted to assure Bakura that rabbithood wasn't all that bad. "Do you think you'll be stuck like this awhile?" He asked.

"Everything here's like stuff in a manga." Superpowers, alien creatures, and now rabbit ears. To Momiji it sounded like something out of one of those shows his younger cousins watched.

After a few more moments of his intense staring, he finally relented with a grin. "Well, at least their kind of cute. It could have been something worse."

"Aaa... knowing the Porter, anywhere between three days and a week," Bakura rubbed his cheek a little. "...Cute...?"

Wait, Momiji liked rabbits, of course he'd think it was cute.

"That's not too bad. You'll be back to normal before you know it." And if not then Momiji would join him in panicking.

"Yeah. It's cute." Momiji said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "You don't think so?"

"Aaa..." Bakura hesitantly poked at one of his ears again. "I don't know... if it were a real rabbit or something, un, but I don't know about like this on me...."

"It's fine." He assured, but generally let it go. Bakura probably didn't found his newly acquired body parts as something to be joyful for.

"There's other people who work here, right?" Momiji asked, looking around at the other desks.

They weren't giving him the ability to fly or anything neat like that, so really, he was a little pouty at them.

... that and he really didn't want any help in the moe department.

"Aa-- un! That's Jonah-kun's desk, he'll probably be here in another five minutes," he smiled as if at a small joke. "And Shuichi-kun's desk. It think he's at one of the other stores today, so you probably won't get to meet him yet."
