i was only kidding when i said good riddance
WHO: ELECTRO and MOCKINGBIRD
WHERE: Electro's apartment at the MAC.
WHEN: Following this.
WARNINGS: Banter, makeouts, some sex.
SUMMARY: PARKER IS GONE AND ELECTRO IS SAD. Mockingbird to the rescue.
FORMAT: Para.
The apartment was dark; Electro had no need for the City's regular electricity, usually he powered his place on his own (cheap and easy) but tonight he didn't feel the energy at all. So he sat in the dark, staring at his dead TV, holding an unopened beer bottle in hand. Shit, what was he even supposed to do? Parker was his best friend, his... it didn't even matter what they were or what weren't beyond that. They were best friends, and Electro hadn't ever had any real ones. Why was it that now that things had been kind of going okay for him -- he didn't just have one girlfriend, he had one and a half... maybe. What did Bobbi think of their kiss, he wondered? -- the person he was closest to had to leave.
Maybe for good. Who could know? This place had no rhyme or reason to the pattern of who left forever vs. who left for a week. It wasn't fair.
He bit his lower lip, glaring through the darkness.

"Aw, Max. You're a doll," she laughed brightly, tugging on his sleeve as she quickly kissed his cheek. "Come on, I'm starved. Let's go eat."
no subject
"Yeah, me too. Race you back?"
no subject
She laughed then darted off, though at a slower pace than before, since she didn't want to mess up the food. It'd suck to get all the way back to his place and have all the food spilled all over the place.

Smirking, he opened the door and waited for her.

She stepped back inside his apartment, pulling the door shut behind her, and as soon as it was shut, she dropped the bag on the floor, throwing her arms around his neck and kissing him deeply.

"Starving, huh?"
no subject
"No really, let's eat."

He leaned closer to her, but resumed his meal in silence, not wanting to say something stupid.

"So, uh, you got a kid or something? That girl, right? Is she your daughter?" There. It was an innocent enough question, and hopefully neutral enough that it wouldn't complicate things terribly.

He shook his head.

She paused, taking a big bite, then shrugged. "You're handling it well though, it seems."
no subject
"Why should I have responsibility to a kid whose mother I ain't even ever met?"

"Am I just the worst at distracting you from how shitty this place is or what! Jeez, listen to me!" She smiled, hoping she looked charming. She was trying to be charming anyway. "Obviously I just need to learn to keep my big mouth shut."

He stopped talking, in the event he'd keep going and put his foot in his mouth again. Now wasn't the time to get depressing, right? "We can talk about something else," he said after a pause, leaning closer to her and slipping his arm around her waist.

He slid his hand against hers, holding it. "Anyway, it's nice not being the one saying stupid crap, so you don't got to feel sorry for it or anything."

"I like it a lot."
