So I put my hands up, they're playing my song

WHO: The Spider-Family!
WHERE: One of the MAC rec rooms.
WHEN: Saturday, early evening.
WARNINGS: Spider-Shenanigans.
SUMMARY: Harry's back from the hospital, so it's time for pizza and pool! The kind with a stick, not the kind you need a swimsuit for.
FORMAT: Quicklog, then whatever!

[ The rec room is reminiscent of your average college lounge: a well-worn and faintly musty couch and armchairs, dinged-up tables and metal chairs, a CRT television with a large screen, a water cooler, and a pool table. On the table nearest the pool table are several 2-liter soda bottles, some dixie cups stolen from the water cooler, a few bags of chips and doritos, napkins, a few takeout menus (all pizza), and several dollar-store balaclavas, the kind that have openings just for the eyes and mouth.

Peter's hanging out on the couch, in his civvies but with webshooters on. He's killing time waiting for people to arrive by building a classic card tower. ]

arrgh, stupid lj not sending me notifs even though I tracked the log :(

[Gerry stepped further into the room, moving to stand a little closer to James for the moment. Not that he totally wasn't intimidated or anything, seeing Spider-Man out of costume for the first time. This was a big deal, right?

Really though, he was more awkward because of the presence of Spider-Woman. He knew that she wasn't his mom, she wasn't Jessica Drew, but it was still weird to see her in person. It didn't help that Spidey was bringing up his mom too.]

Yeah... Nice to meet you. [Totally not awkward.]

[Matt has been upstairs in his office like the busy worker bee that he is. In fact, he'd almost forgotten about this little shindig before he'd heard Reilly sneaking out a few minutes ahead of him. Even then, he half considered heading home instead. But he'd said he'd make an appearance, and Peter would no doubt hound him about it if he didn't show, so he pulled on his trusty jean jacket, Rangers cap, and Wayfarers (ah yeah, old school~) over his work clothes and headed down to the rec room. This was a part of the MAC where he admittedly spends very little time, and he wasn't quite sure what he'd find down there. But from the sounds of it, things seemed completely awkward. Awesome.

So. Here you are, kids. Have an out of place, blind thirty-something crashing your playdate. He will just be sneaking in like it's no big thing. Cuz he's cool like that.]

[When May had heard 'spider/devil family bonding time,' even one focused on Harry, she'd assumed it would be something like all her personal rather than business visits to the Avengers Mansion back home. Mainly, costumes in place. So May had come in full costume (not that she was often out of this particular costume, what with the pattern shifting and all). That also meant she ended up being late as, since she was in costume anyway, she'd seen no reason no to sneak in a tiny patrol...

At least mom wasn't here to give her the patented MJ Parker 'I'm not angry I'm just very disappointed look' when she crept in behind Matt, truly and utterly late for her own friend's welcome home party. She moved to stand next to Matt a little warily. Hope you weren't hoping for a quiet entrance, Murdock.]

Um, hey- everyone.

Hey. You're late -- and over-dressed.

...And, uh. Nice to meet all of you too.

[ wow this was the most awkward thing she could experience right now. she just... shifted closer to Peter, staring at all of them -- even turning her head to look at Matt and then Spider-Girl (who was in full costume... yeesh. talk about embarrassing).

she takes a few minutes to finally say something, raising a hand in a greeting.
]

Yo.

[ yo?? since when did she use yo?? uuughh. ]

[James is surprised. Are these people even worse at this than he is?]

Hi Spider-girl.

[Good choice of words, Peter, considering Matt was about to turn to Reilly and ask who the hell some of these people were... Also you're all very lucky he can't see those terrible disguises because good lord, people, you're like all related.]

Which one is Harry again?

No thanks. No one needs to hear that.

[He waves a dismissive hand at Peter, and he is still unsure why half the people here are using codenames, but whatever. He's not in costume, so the second someone calls him 'D', he's gonna be pissed.

Aaaanyway, he nods a greeting to everyone and scours the place for a chair or something. Lingering in doorways might be okay for the kids, but the old man likes to sit down.]

So, am I supposed to be chaperoning, or...?

[May gives a small wave to everyone, mentally chewing over the 'unmask, don't unmask' debate. Back home it wouldn't have even been a question, but here...she'd just watch Dad for cues on that one. She gives her traditional greeting of rolling her eyes under the mask at Reilly.]

I, uh, forgot my ski mask and goggles at home, and I can't pull off sunglasses like Matt. So...

[Shrug. She liked her costume. And if Parker luck held true and the Green Goblin or Doc Ock magically appeared to start trying to kill them, at least she'd be prepared.]
