WHO: [livejournal.com profile] elecdouble, [livejournal.com profile] hells4children, and [livejournal.com profile] secondhandwebs!
WHERE: Allison's MAC apartment
WHEN: Saturday night!
WARNINGS: SPARKS
SUMMARY: Allison stole Alex's book to prove a point. She accidentally gave everyone ever beards. Now it's time for Alex to get his book back, and Spider-Girl is intervening to make sure nobody gets shocked to death.
FORMAT: WORDS

She hadn't exactly... meant to give everyone beards. She'd been so frustrated that the book had been illegible that she'd tried to fry it. Frying the book, however, hadn't resulted in any good results. Instead, she'd found the papers not destroyed, and her chin had been fuzzy.

Okay, fuzzy wasn't exactly the word. She'd had a goatee. A gigantic, nasty goatee that covered her face. She'd put on her Aftershock costume earlier to try and see if that had made it less obvious.

It hadn't, but at least this way nobody could find Allison Dillon, the creepy chick from school with facial hair.

She'd put on a robe over her costume by now, and was slumped in her couch, arms crossed. Petulant. She could shock the book again, but that didn't mean the problem would go away. She propped her feet up on the coffee table, and and muttered a curse under her breath.

She really didn't want to go to school like this.
hellisforchildren: (that's worth considering)

He heard the noise in the room, but it didn't sound like enough to act on just yet. Nonetheless, he went ahead and started studying the lock, trying to figure how he'd get in.

He glanced down the hallway both ways, no one around, he'd have time to work. But he still wasn't sure how he'd get through this thing.
secondhandwebs: (Spidey sense ahoy)

Well, that wouldn't do. May pressed one hand against the glass, trying to tug the window up from the outside.

"Oh, you know. Though I'd stop by, have some coffee and cake. Catch up on the gossip, like why you're stealing magical artifacts from people you don't even know."

Man, there was no way he'd be able to pick this lock, it was completely digital, just like the one on his door. Maybe he could've figured a way to hack it eventually, quicker if he had the Abstract, but right now?

This is a detail he'd missed.
secondhandwebs: (Hoo boy)

May rolled her eyes under her mask. It was moments like this that made her wish she were older just so she could mentally complain a little about teenagers when things like thing happened. She used Allison's defensive posture to try and push the window open again.

"Maybe next time someone gives you a double dog dare you should stop short of property damage, huh? Now let's get that thing back to someone who can actually use it to fix this mess."
hellisforchildren: (put my mind to it)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-03 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
That was the sound he'd been waiting for, but he still needed to get through the door. Kneeling to examine it closer, he put a hand on the knob, only to have it give.

"Oh," he mumbled to himself as the door came open.

How was it she always ended up being the decoy in plans again? Was it the sixth sense that made her perfectly poised for danger dodging? Her determination? Plain good looks? Oh no, that's right. It's because she kept volunteering for it. She really needed to get some professional help about that one.

May grunted as she pulled back a little, not wanting to take the fight into enclosed spaces, and aimed one wrist at Allison to try and land a gob of webbing on her.

"Manners, manners, Electra."
hellisforchildren: (something to aspire to)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-03 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
He snuck into the house quietly. The fight was loud enough, but no point risking being heard. He peeked around the corner at the living room, figuring she might keep it close.

There it was, his big black book with the six-toed foot on the front, sitting right on top of the coffee table. He kept low to the ground as he slipped up next to it.

He'd done it, the Abstract was in his hands, the plan had been a success. By all rights he should just bolt, but he couldn't just leave Spider-Girl. He ducked behind the couch and watched for his opening.

"But then we wouldn't get this quality time together."

C'mon boy, head out. May gave a small frown under her mask, but just gave a large shrug to Aftershock, still sticking outside her window.
hellisforchildren: (didn't plan for this)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-03 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Poking his head over the top of the couch, he tried to guess at the distance. If he could do anything from here, or if he'd be better off moving forward. He decided to slip around to the side of the couch and see if he couldn't sneak up on Allison from there.
secondhandwebs: (Falling)

[personal profile] secondhandwebs 2011-04-03 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
May actually had to jump that one, losing sight of the inside of the apartment for a critical moment. Hoo-boy, this could have gone better. If Electra started getting too violent, she could do some damage to the building. Possibly fire like damage. May grit her teeth and turned around, the top of her head visible at the top of the window.

"But the fresh air'll do wonders for your complexion. You should come try it, you're looking a little scruffy around the edges."
hellisforchildren: (might've missed something)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-04 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
The timing was off, the positioning was wrong. If he did anything while she was half out the window, he'd either get her attention and be endangered himself, or he'd accidentally known her out the window. He had no intention of doing either.

If he got her attention, it might at least be easier for Spider-Girl to finish this. He'd just have to wait another moment to see how things went.

Again and again she remembered why she worked solo. If it wasn't the Avengers and their red tape, it was...whatever this was even. May just didn't have the words. Except for ow, since no matter how many times she got the electric boogaloo from this chick, it still hurt. May dropped, letting herself flip to catch just under the window in order to fire another blob of webbing.

"And yellow goes so well with the manscaping there, Electra."
hellisforchildren: (care to repeat that?)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
And that was all the opportunity Alex needed to slip behind her and bring all fifty pounds of the Abstract down on her head. As she crumpled under the blow, he stood over her more than a little triumphantly.

Shooting Spider-Girl a glance through the window, he nonchalantly asked "We done here?"
secondhandwebs: (Wait what)

[personal profile] secondhandwebs 2011-04-04 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wha-"

May could only gap for a few seconds after that move, still sticking to the outside of the building. He- she-

"You hit her with a book?!"
hellisforchildren: (i'm the boss)

sorry it took so long to tag this back, i wanted to be sure allison was out of the rotation first!

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-05 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Alex folded his arms and raised an eyebrow at her. "Only thing I had on hand, but it got the job done."

"Ever heard of 'excessive force' there, mister?"

Not that the threat of getting bug-zapped was out of the way, May crawled into the window to crouch down by Allison. Oh yeah, this would help with the healing processes. Maybe it was time to reconsider the classic team-up gig.
hellisforchildren: (haven't got the patience)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-05 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"You think that's excessive force? You're talking like I shot her or something. We don't all have spider-powers, what else did you expect me to do?"

He glanced down at Allison with at least a modicum of sympathy. "She'll come out of this fine, worst she'll get from it is a headache. We should bolt before she wakes."
secondhandwebs: (oh my brain)

[personal profile] secondhandwebs 2011-04-06 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"The fact you're mentioning shooting people..."

May shook her head and hesitated a moment before she reached down and picked Allison up. Headache she couldn't help, but she could at least put the girl on the couch.
hellisforchildren: (care to repeat that?)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-06 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm mentioning it as an example of excessive force, not as something I'd do. Try to keep up."

While she busied herself with Allison, he reached into his pocket and palmed a piece of paper. He'd have to drop it somewhere Allison would see it while Spider-Girl wasn't looking.
secondhandwebs: (Deep thought)

[personal profile] secondhandwebs 2011-04-07 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooooh, you watch it, mister. Just because I don't approve of her, doesn't mean we're on the level."

May set Allison down as gently as she could on the couch, pausing to rub that back of her neck for a moment. This was not going to end well for her when the other girl work up, she could tell.
hellisforchildren: (might've missed something)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-07 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"What does that even have to do with anything?" He rolled his eyes and pushed up his glasses to rub the bridge of his nose. "It's like we're having two completely different conversations here. I mean, would you rather I'd left you high-and-dry? A deep-fried arachnid doesn't do anyone any good, and if you're taking all the risk for my sake, the least I could do is have your back."
secondhandwebs: (he did it)

I could have sworn I replied to this. Sorry for the delay :/

[personal profile] secondhandwebs 2011-04-12 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"You knocked her out with a book."

May straightened up, turning to look at him with one hand on her hip.

"It's not that I don't appreciate the sentiment, but she's got enough problems without the head trauma. And this talk would be a lot better done walking, I think."
hellisforchildren: (i'm the boss)

that's okay! :D

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-04-13 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I knocked her out with a book. Unlike you, I don't have any spider-strength or fight training. I'm no brawler, all I have..." He held the Abstract aloft. "...Is a book. And this 'head trauma' you're talking about is, at worst, a minor bump. You're treating it like it's a concussion, which makes me think there's something bigger going on here you're trying to pin me for."

he put his hand on the couch, still waiting for the opportunity to stealthily drop the note it held. "I recall saying at the start that we should make tracks, but you wanted to talk about my horrendous crime. So how about we find somewhere else that you can tell me exactly why it's so big a deal that I let Electra here have it."
