Along the outskirts of one street, a figure dressed in a snow white robe seemed to be avoiding all of the conflict. The hood was pulled up to cover her head and obscure her identity.

She was walking along the road, her focus seemingly aimed towards Lydi. Expert footwork avoided a wild swing from a nearby fight, and she continued moving towards her goal. Who was this ominous figure?

[ It's Chao. ]

Lydi noticed the person coming towards her and tilted her head towards them. She stepped forward to be beside the figure, eyes on the fights breaking out around them. "Have you kept yourself out trouble?"

Chao raised a hand and pulled back the hood that obscured her identity. She was giving a smile. "For the most part," she said cryptically, and it was a complete lie. She had already been in several skirmishes, wormed her way into the enemy ranks, and, through the magic of time travel, been at it all for several days already.

She had spent the better part of this day, from her current perspective, doing something rather unrelated to the battles, though. Which explained why she was so well-rested. "I have something I need to talk to you about."

Lydi nodded, glancing back at Chao with a look that wasn't quite a smile, but was much more open than she would normally give. She wasn't going to prod for a better answer, but she was indebted to the younger girl. "If you need assistance, you know how to find me."

"I see." Lydi turned attention to Chao fully, shifting her grip on Apusa. "Shall we find a more private place to talk?"

Chao gave her a nod. "A more private place would be nice." She quietly slipped her hood back up, hiding her face from those on the streets once again.

Lydi turned and started off down an alley. There was a little shop out of the way there, one that usually only opened at night but Lydi didn't really care about breaking and entering. Besides the place didn't have a well working alarm system. She glanced back only once, when she was fashioning a key of ice to open the door, to make sure she was followed. "We can talk in there."

Chao took off her hood as the entered this new building. She glanced around, taking in the sights. "Charming place," she said.

Lydi shrugged. "It doesn't get much business and the owner doesn't keep this place under watch. Good for a private chat."

She hopped on a nearby stool, legs dangling. Apusa was pulled underneath her chin and she focused her attention on Chao. "Has something happened?"

[identity profile] timejumps.livejournal.com 2011-05-24 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Happened?" Chao leaned casually against a wall, smirking as she talked. "No... not yet." She paused. "Or maybe it has." The wonders of time travel.

She stopped smirking for a moment. "Mm..." How was the best way to explain this? She didn't want to leave room for any confusion. "Look, I've thrown my lot in with the bad guys this time around." She pulled on the collar of her cloak, perhaps just a little nervous. "I've spent most of my time so far trying to keep them from killing anybody, or keep the crazier imPorts from killing them. I don't approve of anybody killing anybody else. That kind of tragedy isn't something I could approve of." She shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "But there's a possibility that the Porter can't affect people naturally from this world, or that the sheer numbers they have would overwhelm it. It's a chance I can't pass up."

Lydi raised a brow but did not comment on Chao's strange choice of words. instead she kicked her feet and played with the end of her doll's ears. Though she looked like she was ignoring the girl, she was concentrating very hard on the information presented.

After a few moments, she spoke lightly and slowly. "You don't have to explain why you choose what side. I would not protest either way. As for the Porter," She shifted in her seat, going still. "I agree that the people naturally here are not displaying any powers. I would have joined this fight if they had. But what do you plan to do with that information exactly? I'm supposing you need some sort of help since you have came to me."
