SUMMARY: It’s Reilly and Matt’s birthday! A party is thrown, good times are had. Whether the birthday boys like it or not.

After the late- or was it just really early?- birthday-meeting with Matt and dad the night before, May had immediately headed home to start decorating and generally preparing for the day. This would be the second of Matt and Reilly’s birthday’s she’d be witness to. It was weird to think about. But more than that, she was determined to give this year’s a little more kick to it than the rushed surprise cake from the year before. She knew all the more now how rarely either man celebrated the day at all, let alone happily. And just in case she’d been in danger of forgetting that, Matt’s post the night before had certainly reinforced the point.

So she’d gone all out. Streamers, balloons, all the works she could manage in their small apartment, even a few frosting scented (and oh so carefully webbed by the bottom in place) candles for the birthday boy who couldn’t appreciate the sights. Along, of course, with the finest in ordered food and (non-alcoholic) drink she could manage with the pooled money from interested parties. Now it was just a matter of tricking the boys into both coming and staying long enough to enjoy themselves.

Well. I like Matt. But I... didn't come for him.

It's all right, I'd understand, he's very popular with the ladies... terrible boyfriend, but...

[She lifted herself up on her tiptoes and planted a light kiss on his cheek. It'd probably embarrass him, but she didn't really care. It was his birthday, after all.]

C- Cass! People might be watching.

[She just gave him a wily smile. He should just be thankful she didn't give him a more embarrassing kiss. But she was saving up for their upcoming trip.]

But, they... ugh! You don't understand. If they see something, May and Parker are never going to let it go.

[She... really didn't understand, and just raised an eyebrow.]

But we kiss. A lot.

I know. We kiss a- and stuff. And just to clarify, not complaining, but my family, they... okay. Let me start over. Do any of the Bats like to make fun of each other? At all?

[She blinked a little.]

Yes. But-- This is a... good thing, right? Why would they make fun of you?

I guess it's the Spider way of saying congrats. I don't know, they're... weird like that.

Bats... don't say anything.

[She shrugged a bit. She wasn't sure which way was better, honestly.]

Okay. No more kissing. [So she gave him a nice pat on the back instead! Just don't stumble forward, Reilly. That would be embarrassing.]

Well. No more of it here, at leas-- whoa!

[She'll just stand there, and cover her mouth to keep from laughing at the birthday boy.]

...Ow.

And stop laughing!

[Well, she wasn't expecting him to go tumbling from a simple pat on the back! Still, she offered a hand and tried to hold back giggles.]
