"You have cocoa?!" Calvin loves hot cocoa. "I had that in mind. I definitely had cocoa in mind." He's smiling as he says this. This is such a great shop!

"We have anything our customers need." She chuckles softly while turning on her heel. "I'll be back in a moment with your drink!"

"Thanks!" That waitress is really nice, Calvin thinks as she goes. Maybe that means she'll be easy to fool when it comes to getting free pie. And free custard. And free everything else.

A few minutes pass before Shahrazad returns with both items in hand. "Here's your brownie sundae and hot cocoa." She sets both down on the table carefully. "Is there anything else I can help you with?"

Calvin almost doesn't respond. He is staring at all the chocolate that has been put in front of him. But he remembers what he is doing and looks up at Shahrazad. First things first. "Yeah... do you guys do takeout? You know, people taking pies home?"

Shahrazad nods. "We do actually. Would you like me to add something? Perhaps for your caretakers?"

Jackpot. Calvin nods. "Yeah! I'm living with a lot of people, so I'd like to surprise them all with pie!" Now for the important part. "I can't afford enough for everyone, though," he says, adopting his best sad little boy face. "Would it be okay if I charged everything to the people who take care of me?"

"I wouldn't be against it but," Her smile dims. "Perhaps you should call them first? To see how much they would permit you to use in their name. You don't have to ruin the surprise."

"Yeah... Yeah, that's right. I, uh, don't want to ruin the surprise." If 'ruin the surprise' meant 'get killed by Pietro when he finds out I charged an entire shop's worth of pie to him.'

"Hm, but they're not going to let me spend their money if I don't tell them what it's for. They'll think I'm up to something." Calvin frowns as he thinks about this. How can he get all the pie for himself without having to pay for it or getting in trouble? Maybe if I do buy pie for everyone and add a few extra names to the list they won't notice...

As he thinks, he digs into his (delicious) sundae and chews thoughtfully. Chocolate always helps him think faster though not better.

Shahrazad thinks it over a moment before smiling. "I think I have a solution. Why don't I purchase them for you? I only ask that you let your guardians know where they came from so they can come in again if they enjoy the pies. Does that sound fair?"

Calvin perks right up at having such a perfect solution dropped in his lap. "You'd really do that?" He asks, not quite believing his luck. "Wouldn't that be expensive?" Even as he asks he starts to feel a little twinge of that rare thing called 'guilt' at the thought of getting all that free pie for himself because the waitress was really nice.

"I would!" Shahrazad chuckles. "Perhaps it will be a little expensive but, I take joy in helping our customers. Aside from that, how many could your family possibly eat?"
