She's been pretty good at that lately. He lets his hand go back down to the table. ]

[ He grins, leaning back. ] Sure. What time?

Seven? I need to get snacks in before you come over.

Sounds good. [ It actually sounds really good. ]

So can I get you a pie? I’m buying this time. [ He’s reasonably sure that it’s his turn. Either way he’s not taking no for an answer. ]

For one moment, Sofia looks like she will say no, but she catches the look in his eye and relents] I will try the lemon raspberry cup pie.

How is the job hunting going?

[ Oh look questions he doesn't want to answer, excuse him while he goes to get that pie. ]

Yeah it's going great. [ Moving swiftly on, setting her pie down ] Lemon raspberry.

[she raises an eyebrow and gives him one of her teasing looks] Julian, what exactly are you picturing me wearing?

Nothing. [ NO WAIT BAD ANSWER ] I mean, nothing unusual.

[She leans forward to peer interestedly at him] What do you classify as nothing unusual?

[ How did this conversation even get here?! He's sure this was totally innocent five minutes ago. ]
