[It was Tom's first couple weeks running the bar, and, surprisingly, it had gone pretty well so far. The transition itself was a bit of a challenge, but once he'd become accustomed to it, it really wasn't so bad at all. In fact, he found himself even enjoying the work, even if it meant extra hours for the time being, since the promotion and port-outs lately meant that they were running a bit understaffed.

That wasn't why he was pulling other duties besides just managing the place, though. Working behind the bard was one of the best jobs he had, and he really enjoyed it. He got to talk to people at the bar (and occasionally have a drink or two himself). It was the social aspect that he liked, which was why, to maybe draw in a few new regular customers, he was offering free drinks for the week.]

Well, I had terrible luck keeping jobs back home. [He laughs.] Fired, quit, building destroyed by super battles. It was like the world was telling me to live on my couch.

Yeah, well, you've worked hard and done well here, I think. Good thing you did too, I would have been in trouble too. [He laughs as well, but it's a bit worrisome.] Oh, please don't jinx anything and get this place destroyed. Selina would murder me if anything happened.

You think? [He smirks and reaches over to give a teasing nudge.] Hey, don't worry. You've got me here to protect the place. Phenomenal cosmic power and all.

[borntobewildcat]

That's true. [Okay, fine, he smiles a again, getting back to work on the cleaning.] And if anything does happen, I could always just have you live here so the repairs stay.

[cosmic_ring_hero]

[Curtis laughs.] Hey, I can figure out ways to fix things that wouldn't require me to move in.

[borntobewildcat]

Oh? You wouldn't want to live in the bar for the rest of your life? [He grins.] So you could just, what, create the people to do the work.

[cosmic_ring_hero]

I'd die of alcohol poisoning [He laughs] That or give myself carpenter skills or something. Or just make the bar self-healing for a bit.

[borntobewildcat]

You could prevent that, couldn't you? [He smirks, then sets a bottle of beer out for Curtis.] Let's just be optimistic and hope that nothing ever happens to this place. I don't need Wolverine coming after me.

[cosmic_ring_hero]

I could. Hell, depending on the situation, I could prevent just about anything y'know. [He nods his thanks and takes a swig of beer.] I'll keep the crazy little Canadian off your back.

[borntobewildcat]

You're seriously the person to have around in a place like this. [He smiles and looks down at his beer for a minute or two.] You know him?

[cosmic_ring_hero]

Yeah, I'm y'know...phenomenal. [He nods.] Wolverine comes from my world. He's part of the Avengers that are there when I...y'know. [When he dies.]

[Tom nods a little, his smile fading just a bit.] I gotcha.

[He's silent for a moment.] Is he really all... [He waves his hand dismissively, trying to think of the word.] vicious?

[Curtis shrugs a little.] That's what I've heard. I mean he was out cold by the time I got to the fight but all the TV shows and video games called him vicious.
