[It was Tom's first couple weeks running the bar, and, surprisingly, it had gone pretty well so far. The transition itself was a bit of a challenge, but once he'd become accustomed to it, it really wasn't so bad at all. In fact, he found himself even enjoying the work, even if it meant extra hours for the time being, since the promotion and port-outs lately meant that they were running a bit understaffed.

That wasn't why he was pulling other duties besides just managing the place, though. Working behind the bard was one of the best jobs he had, and he really enjoyed it. He got to talk to people at the bar (and occasionally have a drink or two himself). It was the social aspect that he liked, which was why, to maybe draw in a few new regular customers, he was offering free drinks for the week.]

[Sofia's mouth forms an 'o' and a reply doesn't come immediately as she tries to dissect what Julian has just said. Does it mean he still likes her?

It would be very good if he did. Sofia's feelings hadn't died for him for him when she left the school. Julian's face had appeared in her dreams and so had his kisses. She wouldn't mind those kisses happening outside her dreams again. However, if he did still like her, they still needed to spend more time together]

I did have friends, Julian so I wasn't alone [she smiles]. I don't hate you for saying it, but I would like to know why you are glad I do not have a boy around.

[ Somehow he had not anticipated that question. Which was dumb, because he should have, and now he doesn't have an answer ready. This is complicated, and he hasn't exactly worked out the answer to that for himself yet. And now he needs to tell her.

He can almost see her thinking, digesting, trying to analyse him. It always drove him crazy when people did that. But Sofia...hell, he'd spent a lot of time doing that to her when they were in school. ]

I don't know. Guess I don't like the idea of you being with... [ someone who isn't him ] someone else.

[ He seems to hesitate a minute before nodding. ]

Yeah. Okay, that's...a good plan.

What do you, uh, wanna talk about? [ Since he's having trouble focusing on anything else. ]

Ha, that was the happiest fail grade I ever got. [ Which reminds him... ] Hey, did you see Northstar showed up? And he's from pretty much that exact time.

I did, that was the most embarrassing video chat, until [she smirks faintly] I told him I was keeping you on your toes.

Oh God. [ He groans, but it dissolves into a laugh. And then he leans closer. ] And just how do you plan to do that?

By slapping you to keep you in your place [but she is laughing too]

Oh yeah, my old enemy. How'd I forget that. [ Leaning closer, smirking. ] You're lucky I don't take offense.

[she rests her hand on her chin, inches away from her face] I think yo like it too much to take offense.

[ Eyes running over her face, lips curving into a smirk. ] Only cause you're so cute when you're angry.

[she laughs] am I not cute the rest of the time?
