WHO: Yuri and you!
WHERE: Some random alley.
WHEN: Late night.
WARNINGS: none, will update if necessary.
SUMMARY: Yuri tries to get business done.
FORMAT: Prose to begin, reply as you wish and I'll match.

Yuri knew it would come down to this. Not only because getting rid of criminals was pretty much the only thing that kept him from slipping into insanity, though--in fact, he had decided upon arriving that if the city could handle justice appropriately, there would be no need for him to be Lunatic. But even when he hadn't actively been looking for reasons to become a vigilante once again, in a place whose peace depended on people from other worlds making responsible use of the powers granted to them, it had been only a matter of time.

He waited, and the reasons came to him just like he thought they would. Riots, disappearances, crimes that wouldn't have a reason to exist if the heroes carried out their jobs as they should.

Obviously, there were details that he still had to sort out before he could reveal himself in the way he intended to (resources, information, people that he knew would try to stop him), but for the time being he had enough to get the job done and find out exactly what he was going to have to deal with.

And so, there he was, cornering the target he had chosen against a wall, his hand lighting up with a blue flame as he approached.

Walking home from work, Joel was mostly lost in thought. The recent kidnappings had him wishing he were more useful but he kept quiet about it. Joel did what he was told and was rather enjoying his work as an intern.

He was just passing the alley when he noticed the light from the flames out of the corner of his eye. Frowning, he turned to investigate and his eyes went wide at the words he heard. Pulling his goggles from his pocket and putting them on, he stepped into the alley.

"Hey!" he called, costume forming around him. "How about we put down the fire?" Joel didn't know what was going on but he didn't like where he thought the encounter was going.

Goggle-shielded eyes flicked to the man and then the dimmer flames. Houston tensed and swallowed before speaking. "If your idea of justice is doing what I think you were about to, then you bet I'll be standing in your way."

He glanced at the man again and then the flaming hand, ready to speed the criminal away from the spot if he had to.

"So how about backing off and we can call the cops to come get him?"

"Whoa!"

Houston's in motion the moment that fire went flying. Moving at super speed, the goggle-wearing teen shoots forward to grab the man and pull him out of the way of the bolt. Not looking back, he shoves the man towards the mouth of the alley.

"Get out of here and look at this as a serious reason to give up crime."

Kyo was taking a walk around the city, hands stuffed in his jacket pockets as he let out an annoyed sigh. Sure, the people that he had first encountered on the network were actually pretty helpful and he had a potential sparring partner once his ribs healed a bit more, but still. Being stuck here wasn't exactly on his to-do list.

But the flash of blue out of the corner of his eye caused him to turn, body tensing automatically. His fight or flight instinct was kicking in, and like usual, it was stuck on the "fight" setting. Ignoring the slight ache in his ribs, he reached the alley entrance with little trouble, his own flames enveloping his fist as he drew it back once he saw the man in costume who had cornered whatever poor sap had gotten trapped there.

"Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing?!" He yelled, lashing out with a hard straight punch - and covering up a wince as pain shot through his ribcage from moving so quickly.

Kyo snorted, drawing back into his fighting stance. "Tch - and who the hell gave you the right to decide who's right and wrong?" Thinking on it, this was probably one of the stupider things he's done in his life, and with his previous experiences, that was actually saying something.

The corner of his mouth twitched slightly into a smirk before he rushed forward again, this time ducking down to aim a sweep kick to try and trip this guy up. Sure, he had seen his share of fucked-up shit and dealing with that same fucked-up shit, but at the same time, he never saw killing as an option. Most of the psychopaths he dealt with ended up taking themselves down for one reason or another after being defeated anyway.

HELLO LUNATIC I'M HOME

[you could take the city away from the hero, but you can't take the hero from the city (that made sense in his head), but kotetsu stood at the top of a building not too far from where lunatic was that he had to scramble up - because grappling hooks are for winners and not stairs.

but he spotted someone from his perch. it had taken him a second, but then he recognized that blue flame in an instant.]

OHH OHHH

[shit, was he going to make it there in time? kotetsu activated his powers, trying to tackle down the criminal and save him from a brush of lunatic's arrow.]

What're you doing here? [who else was coming from their world? and of all people, maybe it as best that Lunatic was here and not running around in Sternbild - of course, Kotetsu always forgets important details.]

I'M SORRY THIS TOOK ME SO LONG :(

Why are you here too?! [if not him, someone else will catch him. death, as always, is not a fate for anyone: guilty or no.]

No, they're just not killing them!
