SUMMARY: Today is one of those days where the Doctor does something normal. Of course nothing he does can ever be too normal!

[He's standing calf high in the man-made lake at the park's center his trousers rolled up his skinny legs and his coat tossed on a nearby bench. People stare at him as he converses with the ducks and geese that have wandered closer to this strange being. It would seem that they're all having a fantastic conversation with the man although that could also be the large bag of stale bread pieces he has in his hand.]

The Luxporian's evolved what we would think of as upside down. They see with their toes. [He raises a wet foot up and wiggles his toes] They have toe-lids.

[She blinks a couple of times.] And you know all this, how?

[Are you nutty or just not listening?]

I've met them of course. Diplomatic effort and all that.

So you're... some kind of alien... diplomat? [Well, her experience up to this point with extraterrestrials has been limited.]

Not at all! Just happen to be in the right place at the wrong time. Always where I'm needed and never where I want to go.

You can never go where you want to go? That must get frustrating.

Oh no, the old girl always brings me somewhere interesting at least.

Can I just say - I am the most confused that I've been since I got here, right now?

That does tend to happen to people when they talk to me.

[He brings a foot out of the water and gives it a once over]

I''m a right prune!

Oh, well, at least I'm not the only one, then.

[She has to laugh a little at the sight of his foot, because, really. What?] That does happen.

[He wiggles his wrinkly toes and decides it's time to get out of the pond]

How inconvenient, I was having a nice time in there. Well, not as nice as the ducks but it's good weather for dip plus this duck pond actually has ducks!

[She just kind of... watches him. Curiously.

If he'd stand still for more than five seconds, she'd be really tempted to draw him, actually.]

Do you... have a name?

[He dries off his feet with a small towel from his coat pocket. What? It's a big pocket!]

I'm the Doctor.

[She doesn't even care that this guy is probably crazy. She likes him.]

I'm Ariadne. Nice to meet you... Doctor...

[He quickly moves close to her and air kisses her cheeks]

Right. Good. We have properly introduced ourselves and can now be good friends. I live in a blue house with Jack and Ian, but you're free to join us as well.

[She sort of instinctively pulls away at his air kisses - she's not really big on physical contact and how was she supposed to know he wasn't actually going to kiss her cheek?

But she's also amused.] That's kind of you to offer, but I live in a nice apartment with Arthur and Eames already. We get along pretty well.

That's good. If you ever need a home you can join us, or don't. Jack is a bit of a handful and quite ready to take a handful.

You just met me and you're inviting me to stay with you? I could be a psychopath for all you know.

[He eyes her and even leans in and sniffs her]

Nope, just a human. Perfectly sane under most circumstances!

[She looks a little confused.] I had no idea the sniff test was so effective.

Course it is! I would have pinched you but that just seems rude.

And how would pinching me determine if I'm a psychopath?

Just a little trick I learned, nothing for you to worry about! [Meaning he's not exactly sure]

You don't know what you're talking about, do you?

[sniff]

I have no idea what you're on about. Everything I do has a reason. A reasonable reason even!
