(no subject)

WHO: Friends and family of Andromeda Tonks.
WHERE: House (H)Tonksgood
WHEN: Tuesday, January 17th, 7pm (or roundabouts)
WARNINGS: I'll let you know!
SUMMARY: It is Andromeda's birthday. Tonks is going to throw her mother a party.
FORMAT: consonants and vowels.

[ It is her mother's birthday. In lieu of something extravagant for a gift, Tonks has opted to have a dinner instead. Her friends have been invited.

Being a thoughtful and considerate daughter, Tonks is not making her mother cook. She is taking care of the food and the desert! No, no. Don't panic. Tonks isn't cooking. Her fingers work! She hasn't lost her voice. It's pizza for dinner!

The dinning room table is covered with an assortment of different pizzas. There's thin crust. There's handtossed. There's a pizza with everything, there's a pizza with just cheese. There are some sides such as crisps and vegetables for dipping.

For desert, there's a chocolate cake sitting on a buffet. It's iced with a gooey, chocolate fudge frosting. There are loads of candles stuck in the top, too many to possibly represent Andromeda's real age but too few to set the place on fire. If chocolate cake doesn't appeal to you, there are vanilla cupcakes with yellow frosting. Plus, there's ice cream. Drinks are varied.

And because Tonks is such a considerate daughter, there will be no cleaning up! It's plastic utensils along with paper cups and plates for all! They're yellow. They match the yellow and orange birthday decorations that adorn the interior.

Come one. Come all. It's a pizza party. ]

[ That is entirely what Ginny was afraid of. ]

She is. I think so anyway. Trowa's sweet too. I think it's good they're friends, they seem to have some things in common.

There were some others who were important too. But I don't see much of them.

That seems to happen here, unfortunately.

[She rubs the back of her neck. Well, that got depressing fast, didn't it?]
batbogeyed: (Seriousface)

Oh. [ Ginny looks surprised. ] I'm sorry, I didn't realise...

Did someone disappear?
andromynous: (Worried)

[personal profile] andromynous 2012-01-21 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Just a few people I've met here. One of them's returned since then, but there was also Remus -- and a doctor friend of mine.
batbogeyed: (ScuseMe)

[personal profile] batbogeyed 2012-01-23 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I was sad to hear about Remus. I mean, I know we all have to leave here eventually, but... [ But it probably means she won't see Remus again, unless he comes back to the City. ]

A doctor?

[She nods slowly.]

Nobody you'd have reason to know, but I think it's affecting his friend here.

Yes, it's -- difficult when you know what might befall a person once they leave here.

[Certain death, for example.]
batbogeyed: (EyesClosed)

[personal profile] batbogeyed 2012-01-24 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. That's what I find the hardest of all. Because it's difficult to comfort the people left behind, isn't it?
andromynous: (Are. You. Serious.)

[personal profile] andromynous 2012-01-24 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Especially not knowing whether they'll remember all that's happened here when you arrive back home as well. Or -- well, knowing you won't ever see them again.
batbogeyed: (EyesClosed)

[personal profile] batbogeyed 2012-01-24 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd like to think we'll remember. I don't know if we will. Most people feel fairly certain that we won't, but some people come back here and remember everything. I'm not sure there is one rule that sticks for everyone. But the other part…not seeing them again. That's hard.

You're from after, aren't you? After the war. So you know.
andromynous: (Distraught)

[personal profile] andromynous 2012-01-25 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
From what I understand, people don't necessarily recall things until they arrive here.

[She nods, though.]

Yes, I know how things end.
batbogeyed: (Close)

[personal profile] batbogeyed 2012-01-26 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She pauses. ]

Maybe they'll come back. Your doctor friend, and Remus. And Ryan, and the others. There's always that chance.

Lily did.

I think that's ... part of why this place is actually so cruel.

Never removing that possibility makes it ... difficult to move on.
batbogeyed: (Stare)

[personal profile] batbogeyed 2012-01-28 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe.

But it gives you an extra chance, too. Gives you more time with people, before they...

[ Ginny looks down. She's thinking of Fred, how he'll die in the war. But then so will Tonks. She thinks Andromeda would understand, but doesn't want to say it aloud. Especially since Tonks is here. ]

Extra time's not a bad thing.

[personal profile] andromynous 2012-01-28 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Don't worry, Ginny, Andromeda understands. She reaches oug to give the girl's shoulder a gentle squeeze, even.]

No, of course not.
batbogeyed: (LookUp)

[personal profile] batbogeyed 2012-01-30 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ Ginny smiles back. And then shakes herself, because this is far too serious a thing to be talking about! ]

I'm sorry. We're supposed to be celebrating! I'm sure the people who have gone home would want us to.
andromynous: ():)

[personal profile] andromynous 2012-01-30 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[She ducks her head slightly and smiles, shaking her head.]

You're right. How about some pizza?
batbogeyed: (SmileShy)

[personal profile] batbogeyed 2012-01-31 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[ Ginny smiles and nods, looking happier. ]

That sounds brilliant, I'd love some.
