SUMMARY: This is the townhall meeting, where everyone can come and show up, and wave accusations and shout to their little heart's content. They can also discuss skrull accusations in a calm manner if they really want.

[ And the large room where the City Council met was open for business. The walls were lined with seats, there were rows and rows of seats, nice lighting, and even a couple tankards of coffee open for business. Look, he wasn't a complete monster! There was security, but they remained silent and observed, instructed only to interfere if things were escalating to violence, and only then. Most of the Mayor's staff were already there before people started to arrive, and they were sitting in most of the seats reserved for the City council. There wasn't music, but it would be a good half hour to forty five minutes before the actual proceedings got started.

When they did, it was all about an open forum. ]

[Houston noticed the man with the cane and thought he should offer him a place to sit down. He he found an empty chair and brought it with him. Still in costume in case he has to do any high speed police work, he's smiling.]

[ He doesn't, he's perfectly fine standing. However, it would be rude to say so, and so he smiles in return. It's a cold smile though. ]

Khepri Romero. [ He takes the hand - he's wearing black gloves. ] Do you have your suspicions are are you merely here to observe, Joel Weinberg?

[Joel's got those yellow and black gloves that come with his costume on.] Well, I'm with the CPD so I'm here to observe and help keep the order, Mr. Romero.

A noble justification. [ He lets go of the handshake quickly ] Do you believe your presence will be necessary?

As much as I hope it won't be...[He frowns, looking the crowd over.] it might just be necessary. This is a pretty dangerous set up. Even if no one starts a fight here there's still the possibility of a Skrull being here to cause trouble or some other outside force. And then there's the amnesty that ends the moment the meeting does...

I did wonder about that decision. It almost seems like a ploy to bring those operating outside the law into the open. [ He doesn't sound critical however, almost as if he approves of such shady tactics. Because he does. ]

I don't think it is. [He shakes his head.] Villains or not, they're still Imports and targets. And they might actually be useful...I mean an arch nemesis would notice if the hero they fight suddenly started acting strangely and skrullish.

[ He raises an eyebrow ] That could be a reasonable theory - given that anyone could notice. Do you believe your friends or enemies are acting suspiciously?

[There's a small pause before Joel shrugs a little.] I'm...keeping my eyes on things. I don't have any enemies that are specifically mine though. I'm no Superman after all.
