SUMMARY: This is the townhall meeting, where everyone can come and show up, and wave accusations and shout to their little heart's content. They can also discuss skrull accusations in a calm manner if they really want.

[ And the large room where the City Council met was open for business. The walls were lined with seats, there were rows and rows of seats, nice lighting, and even a couple tankards of coffee open for business. Look, he wasn't a complete monster! There was security, but they remained silent and observed, instructed only to interfere if things were escalating to violence, and only then. Most of the Mayor's staff were already there before people started to arrive, and they were sitting in most of the seats reserved for the City council. There wasn't music, but it would be a good half hour to forty five minutes before the actual proceedings got started.

When they did, it was all about an open forum. ]

this is going to go really good, or really bad. Jaime just knows it. but he'd be a bad superhero if he didn't show up and at least try to make sure nobody else became an amputee to some degree.

civvies were out of the question; he's in the armor. it makes a statement. a statement like "please don't try any crazy bullshit during this meeting."

[ Harvey gets there early, and he sits in the second seat of the second row, frowning at the room at pulling out a notepad, fully prepared to write down everything that gets said and by who. He's going to be on top of this if it kills him.

He rubs his left temple, crossing his legs and sitting still. ]

[ Norman shows up in sunglasses and he's dressed in a very dark suit, not green if you can believe that! He sits down and peers at everyone over his sunglasses, sitting back smugly. He doesn't know who he's going to vote for, really, but he's eager to see who all points fingers at whom, and to see what sort of people he could do without for a few days. ]

[ The Monster was just walking by but he stops and seems almost hypnotized by Osborn's sunglasses. He stares at them.

Jack could be found leaning tiredly against a wall. His right arm was in bandages up to the shoulder. Lust had gotten him good- stabs and cuts on the bicep, forearm, and shoulder, and his hand had gotten a nasty burn when she destroyed his taser too.

He knew he was in no condition for a fight, but that didn't mean his replacement sidearm wasn't close by. Fortunately, Jack was a damn good shot with either hand. Whatever happened here tonight, he wasn't expecting anything good. Not after everything else that had gone wrong lately.

Geddoe had to take a moment to check up on the other old soldier in the room. "Jack. How's the arm?" he wondered. He had noticed the emergency call but had no way to intervene himself, so he merely observed from afar.

[ Negotiator was there, concentrating on keeping up his Khepri Romero disguise. The last thing he needed in a meeting about aliens in disguise was being revealed as an alien in disguise.

He doesn't sit down just yet, leaning on his brand new cane, standing at the edge of the room. He's calm, but his face is blank, missing the usual smug smile. ]

[Houston noticed the man with the cane and thought he should offer him a place to sit down. He he found an empty chair and brought it with him. Still in costume in case he has to do any high speed police work, he's smiling.]

[Goku is here for one reason; to prove he's not a skrull and to help beat them up once they're found. Okay, he's there for two reasons. Three if you count wanting to complain at Zoidberg face to face instead of over a comm where he can't hit him.

He skirted around the chairs being too antsy to sit down. The smell of the coffee led him over to that area only to be disappointed when it was just coffee and nothing to eat. Damn, he had to remember to bring food to these things next time. This was twice he'd forgotten.

He decided that spot on the wall was as good as any to people watch from, so he stayed put.]

[ Well, the mayor said to come and talk and so the monster came to talk, although he wasn't quite sure why he was there.

He sits in his seat looking around at everybody, clutching a bright pink (closed) umbrella. He also appears to be wearing a bright pink sweater with hearts on it, apparently having missed the memo that Valentine's was over. ]

The Major was walking about in a gleaming white suit, with no visible protection or weapons in sight, smug as could be. He was relishing the situation. The forces of law and order had to protect him, or else publicly break their word for all time for the sake of attacking him. If any 'heroes' assaulted him, the others were bound to restrain them by the code they sought to defend. His very presence here could start a superhuman brawl! And all he had to do was show up and contribute to the discussions. Oh, it was too good.

"What is this feeling, in the air?" He asked no one in particular. "Could it be... nostalgia? Frightened and angry people gathered in a great crowd to root out an enemy in their midst. The air thick and electric, charged with suspicion! I can feel the tension, rising higher and higher, about to break like a storm. Yes..." He smiled broad. "This is going to be a lovely evening."

He's sitting casually, phone in lap. He's not really planning to throw any accusations, after all. There's no need for him to pay the utmost attention to the proceedings. ]

[ Dick's hanging out in the background by one of the tankards of coffee, wearing one of those impeccably tailored suits that probably saw the light of day a whole lot more back in Gotham. Bandages and all; arm still immobilized in that ugly, sterile looking sling. Blending in is pretty far from being the objective tonight. ]

[Goku is also hanging out by the coffee table (if there's going to be other refreshments that's where they'll go right?) watching the crowd. It isn't his nature to keep quite for very long though, so when he spots someone else in the same position he has to start a conversation. He doesn't bat an eye at the inuries and just starts talking.]

[In costume and with goggles in place over his eyes, Houston's got himself a nice bit of wall to lean against. He's not sure what to think about the meeting other than the fact that it gives him a bad feeling. He's keeping a close eye on the crowd though. While he hopes there won't be trouble, he intends to try to stop it as soon as possible if it does occur.]

[ Sark is here, standing in the far back of the room, simply being the eyes and ears for both himself and Eames. He still undeniably looks like shit and has no intention on speaking to anyone if he can help it -- though at least he's not flat out drunk at the moment -- but simply intends to keep a watch on everything he possibly can, if only so he can stay in the know. ]

[It was hard to feel as if he would make much of a difference coming into a meeting where most of the people making the decisions were adults. He'd learned while living with the Dursleys that most people did not care what he had to say, but at least, he might have a chance of hearing something informative.

So, he is here, using his small size to slip easily between people and make his way toward the front of the room where he would be able to see things a little more easily.]

[Oh, there is no way's leaving Harry alone once he spots him, regardless of who else is here. Heck, he's more inclined to go bother his young nemesis because of who else is around. He's not stupid enough to try anything in this crowd, and just talking to Harry is likely to be enough to panic most of the other wizards.

So he makes his way over, though he does take care to avoid the other wizards on the way. No need to have them get in the way before he actually did anything.]

[...she'd meant it when she told Robin that the Skrulls had, in her opinion, done more harm by causing people to accuse and attack one another. The evidence was right in front of her. Suspicious looks where friendly smiles had once been. An aura so tense, it was palpable.]

[Her? She would make no accusations, but at the same time, she would remain in the back. Watching and observing, just as she always had.]

Trowa hadn't wanted him to tell her why he was watching her, and Tavros couldn't think of a reason to talk to her otherwise right now, so maybe he would just...stand...over here some, and try not to look like he was watching.

She's in human form for now, if only because if she decides to do something silly like offer to prove that she isn't a Skrull, she doesn't want to risk dying of a massive infection.]

[Apollo doubted anything good would come of this meeting. Either people would vote and risk sending off a handful of innocent people into confinement, or they'd luck out and actually manage to get one.

Either way, he didn't see how this would help anything in the long run. It just serves to let people get their hysteria out in another way. He'd only come to observe.
