SUMMARY: This is the townhall meeting, where everyone can come and show up, and wave accusations and shout to their little heart's content. They can also discuss skrull accusations in a calm manner if they really want.

[ And the large room where the City Council met was open for business. The walls were lined with seats, there were rows and rows of seats, nice lighting, and even a couple tankards of coffee open for business. Look, he wasn't a complete monster! There was security, but they remained silent and observed, instructed only to interfere if things were escalating to violence, and only then. Most of the Mayor's staff were already there before people started to arrive, and they were sitting in most of the seats reserved for the City council. There wasn't music, but it would be a good half hour to forty five minutes before the actual proceedings got started.

When they did, it was all about an open forum. ]

Yeah, we will. Until then I’m here to make sure he doesn’t turn on anyone I trust. [ He glances at her. The list of people he trusts is a small one. It mostly counts her and Tom. He could be persuaded against anyone else. ]

Or any of the kids. [There was no rule to say that a Skrull couldn't be a kid. However she didn't want to see them hurt just because people were scared.]

They won't look at the kids. It won't even come up.

Whatever. That was Zoidberg, people know better than to listen to that clown. He accused a fucking dog, Sofia.

I know it's ridiculous, but people were scared enough to listen to him Julian. They have changed their attitude to some of the people mentioned. I've seen it on the network.

That’s cause they’re suspicious. That’s good. They should be suspicious. The Skrulls could be anyone. It doesn’t mean they’re gonna be dumb enough to attack little kids.

Some of them might be, I'm keeping an eye on the kids on the network to be on the safe side.

[She shakes her head.]

However I think the people who are doing the most work on the Skrulls are going to be blamed tonight. [She gestured towards Tony Stark.] By helping they have made themselves easy targets for suspicion.

Or the people who are trying to lock them up. [ He nods at the Mayor. ]

They're asking for it. But I don't care. I'm not gonna vote.

Me either. I am going to keep a close eye on the people who do vote though.

Yeah. Looks like it's time.

[Sofia was silent until the vote was completed. She shook her head. The mood in the room was odd.]

We should go back and prepare. I don't think the trouble is going come to come tonight.

[ After Sherlock goes nuts and then gets taken away with the others, Julian shakes his head at her. ]

What a fucking mess. I'm staying with you tonight. [ No arguments. ]

[Sofia slid her hand into Julian's. After all that happened at the meeting, she wasn't going to argue with him.]

Julian, why don't you stay until we've defeated the Skrulls?
