A Very Weasley Birthday Party
WHO: Ron Weasley, anyone who lives at the Trollburrow, and *Open to any of Ron's friends who'd like to make an appearance!
WHERE: The Trollburrow
WHEN: Evening of Thursday 1 March
WARNINGS: None. Well, possible pranks and things. Weasley Warnings.
SUMMARY: It's Ron's birthday and we're having a party!
FORMAT: However you like.
Not even a week has passed since Ron Weasley had been found sleeping on a spaceship, where he'd been hidden for weeks while a Skrull ran around wearing his face. Now that Skrull, along with all its friends, is gone, and the whole City is still feeling the aftershocks of that event.
But that doesn't matter tonight. That's because it's Ron Weasley's birthday, and in all fairness he'd be getting a party anyway. But after the week he's had, he definitely deserves one. Fred, George and Ginny have fitted out the Trollburrow for the occasion, and all of Ron's friends have been invited.
A huge space has been cleared in the main room, and there's a table with all sorts of cakes, buns, cookies, ice-cream, and fizzy drinks. Across from it is another table where presents can go, and there's music playing from somewhere that's not quite clear. Some very friendly balloons are floating around the place, and will loudly sing Happy Birthday on request. Or if you get too near. Or if you look at them funny. Regardless, they're floating around the place and making a general nuisance of themselves. The room is lit up with dozens of glowing, colour-changing orbs which are floating just below the ceiling.
Everyone is welcome. Happy birthday Ron!

He wasn't really picky about which bit of cake he got, really, so long as it was delicious and there was a sizable piece available. Actually... He'd go ahead and cater to his sweet tooth. Cut loose. Why not?
"I'll take a corner, then. More frosting."

She also gives him a sizable chunk here, it's not like there isn't enough to go around.
"Do you know that Harry's here? Only little." She honestly wasn't sure if the real Ron had ever seen Harry here, and given that he'd be coming to the party, it was worth mentioning.

"I know that. He came in a bit before I... Took my vacation, as it were."

It's good that he's got the opportunity. Ron always found it hard to imagine growing up without any parents or siblings, without being surrounded by people all of the time. Even if Harry is only here temporarily, even if he'll forget about his time here when he goes back home... For both him and James, the opportunity must be something precious.
"Odd, isn't it? You see how I feel a lot of the time, now that your husband's eleven?"

She just sort of stops. And speaks very quietly.
"My what?"
no subject
"Well... Yeah."
no subject
She really ought to speak some time soon.
“O-oh. Well, that…so the children you told me about are…right. Yes.” Why does the ground never try and swallow you when you want it to? “This is so weird. I don’t even know how to talk to him, Ron.”

Ron's ability to smooth things over hasn't evolved much. Harry's being eleven was undeniably alienating for everybody who knew him. There wasn't much to offer to make that any easier to deal with.
"You just... We'll just make sure he's alright for now, yeah?"

It's so strange."
