SUMMARY: Diana pays an informal visit to City Hall.
FORMAT: Quick at first, then whatever!

[Diana has been looking forward to this visit for several reasons. She admittedly wants to see how the City is being run, and while it isn't her priority, it's a good opportunity to observe.

She arrives without pomp and dressed in casual clothing, her Wonder Woman armor and accessories nowhere in sight. She isn't exactly inconspicuous despite this, but she's still hoping to blend in. After all, she isn't here in any formal capacity -- only to visit friends.]

Diana, please. [She lets herself in, choosing to stand by the door.] I'm only dropping by to say hello. I know how busy you are.

[enigmaestro]

Well, it's quite the thoughtful gesture. [He stood, greeting her more formally.] Please, take a seat.

[An pause followed, and he wondered if Mitchell had already spoken to her about their task force idea.]

Have you stopped in merely for a hello?

[themysciran]

[She takes a seat in front of his desk.] Yes. Unless there are some matters you wanted to talk to me about?

In fact, there are -- but. [Eddie slowly resumed his seat, his eyes on Diana.] I'm not sure if I'm the proper valve for this discussion.

[Privately, behind that mask of composure, he cursed at Mitchell. Undoubtedly the fanboy had a head's up to this encounter.]

Has the mayor mentioned a little idea we had? A diplomatic opportunity that requires your significant touch.

[themysciran]

[She furrows her eyebrows, shifting to assume a more formal seating position.] Mitchell did mention something, yes. I'm not against the idea, but I need more information before I make a decision regarding my involvement in it.

[enigmaestro]

And that's why you're talking with me? You're expecting more information. [Eddie wheedled for the answer, even implicitly supplying his own. It was easier to consider this meeting that way -- a discussion of information -- rather than it have anything with sentimental value.

He, as Riddler, never directly crossed Wonder Woman's path. Outside of Batman and his endless sidekicks, Flash and Green Arrow were fair game (even the occasional distant dig at Superman -- but never as a solo act). However, Wonder Woman remained virtually untargeted, at least by his specific design.

That fact didn't make this less awkward.]

Oh no, this was initially a purely social call. [Diana leans in, sensing his discomfort.] Edward, I would like you to know that my opinion of you is in no way affected by your reputation back home. You've put your past behind you, and the least I could do is acknowledge it. You've done so much for the City and you are entirely deserving of my trust and respect. I do consider you a friend, and I hope you feel the same way.

[She sits back, smiling.] Now, I would love to hear more about this idea of yours, if you wish to tell me about it.

[enigmaestro]

[He swallowed. Hard. A flush heated the back of his neck. Eddie squirmed for a moment, unable to pry himself away from Diana's warmth. Unable to avoid that welcoming feeling she inspired.]

I see. I can't say that I'm very [good at] used to this [kindness] sort of visit, mind. You'll have to forgive my [awkwardness] assumption. Of course I, ah, feel --

[He wasn't sure how to end that sentence.]

Of course I'll talk more on it, the idea. I was thinking that Mitchell and I could, ah, create a diplomatic task force. A grouping of talented individuals who could artfully provide precise aid to areas worldwide, areas most in need. Like a superpowered Peace Corps, if you will. Such an endeavor speaks dramatic things for the import community, naturally, so we need a particularly strong diplomatic leader heading the entire operation.

You are the best individual for that job, Wonde -- ah, Diana.

[themysciran]

That's unfortunate -- these kinds of visits are usually my favorite. And you needn't bother yourself over it, Edward.

[She listens intently as he talked, staying silent for a moment after he finishes speaking.] And exactly what aid will we provide? Are we going to take a more active or passive approach? I can see the benefit improving relationships with other areas will provide the import community, but it is a fine line between assisting others and infringing on what they believe is their territory.

[enigmaestro]

Yes. [Eddie spoke brightly, his keen eyes now focused on her face.] Exactly, we'll need to adapt to the most recipient form. That's why our task force needs to be fluid as well as worldly -- they'll have to manage both passive and active forms of desired assistance, as instructed by the receiving party.

We want this to look very good.

[themysciran]

And do you have any other...candidates for this task force? [It's growing increasingly apparent that this whole thing is more for the sake of the import community's reputation rather than any altruistic motive, and had Diana not spent years entrenched in politics and all it entailed, she would have objected to it.] What would distinguish us from other superhero teams?
